Dio Astóre 69 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Thick parchment hangs from the notice board: "The imminence of the Undead threat grows, as is widely known. Tales of those bold enough to venture to their tainted grounds tell us that to set foot in the Nether is to experience ones' very life-force seeping out into the deathly path that be tread. Monstrosities abound, lakes of liquid fire threaten to engulf any ill-footed adventurer, and the accursed magic wielders themselves keep their vigil with empty eyes. And I would ask of you to go there with me. I propose to enter the heart of where our enemy resides; those who mean to strike at ours. There may yet be a source of strength upon those blighted grounds; a power we may use to defend Malinor with. I shall seek it. But who else?" ((Not unless I can work something out with a GM or such for an event of sorts that is held in the Nether. Of course if they are completely against the idea I come across as a mad Elf for proposing such a ludicrous idea and you may or may not have a tale of a misguided Elf whose noble ambition was his doom. Either way I like what it does for Roleplay. It will be a little while before I meant to have this happen in-game. But the sooner I get it out there the more time to prepare there is. I have a few concepts on how we could RP going to the Nether and not having the leech mechanic decimate us before we get within 5ft of the nearest mushroom.)) TheWyrdWolf 1532 Share Posted December 5, 2011 *Pins a reply up* My freind, i will gladly lay down my life for our home land and for aegis. You have my blade, my bow and my soul. We fight together and we die together! We may not come back alive, but we shall be remembered by our loved ones, our families, our freinds. If you will have me then i will fight till the death. -Sincerly Krashiun Razzarnoth -Archer in the UAC

((As for that: re-opening the portal that resides somewhere in (oh what was it?) South-West Laurelin could solve that issue. That in itself would be the RP equivalent of cutting the 'red ribbon'. A few guards standing watch if they like to make sure nothing wanders out. Perhaps several parties that split up in, with each under leadership of a reliable and experienced roleplayer, depending on interest of course. Or one smaller party consisting of a Scholar, Magician, Herbalist, Warrior etc..))

((If they have magical logs in front of them rendering them inaccessible then naturally not. I do like to host events though, and with the introduction of potions I would have liked to been able to RP gathering the components in a Lore related way. With the new map fast approaching I was aiming for something a little grander than hosting another bard competition - which I'll do regardless, the first one was wonderful.)) *Rips note off board* (( Can just tell this is gonna get alot of flame, i thought it was an offical organised thing, i was wrong sorry)) ((Not giving up on the event just yet. But you are right; it isn't official in any way. Flames don't bother me either. Worst case scenario a FM deletes the topic and I gain some knowledge on what is considered appropriate in terms of events.))

Dio Astóre 69 Author Share Posted December 5, 2011 ((After reviewing what I've written I felt I should elaborate more on what my original ideas were: Baseline) The Druids or Mages create a magical barrier that can only withstand the barrage of evil magic in the Nether temporarily (users added to debuff exception list or to disable it in certain regions altogether) around the expeditionary force, which proceed to search for and collect valuable objects to bring back and study / use in future RP. Variable 1) How long the expedition will continue for. Variable 2) How deep the Nether will be explored. Variable 3) The focus object(s) of the mission; i.e. artifact, potion ingrediants, Netherrack mining etc.. Variable 4) Organising who enters and when. Variable 5) Guidelines for inevitable encounters. = (A 'What to do If...' speech / OOC discussion.) Variable 6) The player. xD Cannot think of anything else currently. P.S. After searching for an event hosting guide and thus failing to find one, I'm considering writing one up as a basis for users to work with; a Do and Do Not essentially, which I'll need some councel on.)) ((Edit: Scratch all that. I'll just skip straight to the Event Guide and host my Bard competition again.))
