Patch 1.7.2

Patch Changelog:

  • Added /damage command to compliment /roll. It allows you to take RP related damage. For example you can type /damage 2 punched in the face and that would result in the following image. Please note that /damage works just like /roll does, and is echoed to all players within 20 blocks of the person issuing the command. This is purely for RP purpose and is never mandatory in a situation unless otherwise specified.
  • Added TNT to the game; requires a minimum level of 35 blacksmithing to place. However at level 35 you can only place it up to Y:40, above that you need higher blacksmithing levels for each interval of 10. Additionally, you need lvl 25 blacksmithing to break TNT in block form; anyone can DETONATE it via a lever however.
  • TNT has been nerfed in a lot of ways. It only results in 40% of normal loot drops, it can not chain detonate (meaning 1 TNT can not cause another TNT to go off), and it only can destroy certain, naturally occurring blocks. TNT should be looked at as a weapon for combat and a mining tool, not a griefing tool.
  • Overhauled our combat system a bit; if you log out within 10 seconds after you end combat, your character will remain logged in to the game for 10 more seconds; and if they’re killed in this time span you will be dead upon log in and will go through the normal re-spawn process. Please note that this “10 second” trigger only occurs when you take damage from a mob or player, not from fire, falling, special effects, etc. This was done to prevent people who ninja-log when an RP situation isn’t going their way.
  • You can now use RP names for /addbuddy and it will still work.
  • GMs can now put any enchantment they want on any weapon. So you may see a few Magical enchantment shops spring up around Aegis! I’m still not sure how I plan to implement enchanting for player use. I do know that potions will be made much more implemented when our new drop tables for mobs are finished.
  • Slimes now spawn naturally in Aegis.
  • Updated to newest build of bukkit; more stable + some cool bugfixes.
  • Disabled the end realm completely, causes them epic crashes.
  • Many misc. bugfixes.

Donation Changes:

Ok, now that I’ve gotten my game-play changes out of the way this week I want to announce some changes to the donation system. We have removed skill credits from the donation shop. So you’re probably wondering, “Why?”.

We, and by we I mean the entire GM team, feel that it is undermining what we want this server to be. We don’t want to appear to be some cheap sell outs that just want to make a quick buck off minecraft. We want to be the one true RP community that is actually fair; that makes you have to EARN all you have, and lets you develop your character along your journies. The developing of ones character should be a fun filled process, not a paypal button click.

We originally added the skill credits shortly after the whole “availer” drama, as a way to boost up the then-nonexistent funding for the server. Now that we’re back on a safe platform thanks to all your generosity, we want to start pulling back some of these game-changing donation benefits. This being said, players who have previously donated for skill credits will not be effected, nor will their stats.

We will likely rework the credit system to be more related to ingame events, forum posts, and voting in the near future. We want to use skill credits as a reward for you guys helping the server, but not just through money.

We will be doing more changes like this in the coming days to further this general theme. Please leave us feedback on this!

I like the new additions! I hope more will come, I love the addition of potions!

As for the 'debuff' on donations, I agree. I actually was thinking about NOT donating, just because I felt it would be cheap to instantly gain skill increases xD Great update though, I cannot wait to see how wonderful this server becomes. I'll be sending a small donation your way soon! Love the server!

No brothel plugin? :(

I concur, we need our Bunga Bunga parties...

Vaq, what if someone crashes, will they remain for 10 seconds also? That could cause them to be killed by mobs or something.

I don't even....

I'm glad that end crashing stuff got fixed. Some player made a portal to the end and went in! Dear god... This reminds me of the destroyer of worlds with the lag.

Awesome update!

Just a quick suggestion though. Because the 10-second timer was implemented to stop people from avoiding death by log-off in a PvP, can you limit the 10-second trigger to player damage only? I just so happen to be a hunter, and a 'possibly unintentional' log-off may very well kill me.

So if I'm being chased, I'll hit you once then log out and I'm safe? :3.

Hey I donated $50 to upgrade from Gold to Diamond on the 26th of November. I Received an e-mail from paypal on the 30th saying it had cleared. I 'm guessing the auto donate system isn't working? I need some help pretty please.

In regards to the hunter, perhaps i missed it, but what is the amount of time before a crash or someone logs out that a hit on the player would indicate that they will stay logged in?

i got hit (x amount of time) log out

what would x be to indicate they will still be in game?

I am personally not worried but am curious to this for my guards and hunters

@ninji

post in the support and help section, since the availer thing the auto update system is not working again

Wha... I don't understand your question. If you take or deal ANY damage from a mob or player then log out within 10 seconds of that event, your character will stay logged in for another 10 seconds, and can then be killed.

Any chance of nerfing the far-too-easy farming experience system?
