Urahra 5777 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Many years ago, a clan of orcs, isolated from Krugmar, flourished in a distant, untouched desert. These orcs were the originators of the language most orcs now use today – “The Blah”. Strong, fearless, and proud, these orcs carved out a distinct way of life in the wilderness, building a society all their own, independent from the orcs of Krugmar. However, even the most perfect society cannot stay untouched forever. With the rise of the undead, this clan fell under attack. Necromancers assaulted these orcs, decimating their numbers with unholy magic. While the orcs fought valiantly, they were driven off in the end. The survivors fled into the wilderness. Two of these survivors you know well. For the longest time, the two brothers thought they were the only ones to survive the attacks. But they were wrong. More survivors emerged as the years passed. The two brothers knew what they had to do – they had to rebuild their fallen clan or die trying. Thus, the Shadowclan was born. What is Shadowclan? We are a unique orcish clan. We do not follow traditional clan structures and we operate independently from Krugmar. We speak in “full” Blah. We have a unique chain of command and leadership system. In other words, we are a little more like a military organization than a traditional orcish clan. Chain of Command? New recruits start off as “Peons” and, if they pass a simple test, they will be promoted to “Gruntee”. From gruntee, we have “Grunt” and “Nob.” Only the greatest orcs may be promoted to Shadowclan nob. Lower ranks must obey the upper ranks unquestioningly. They received their promotions BECAUSE they were among the best. The Nobs are the leaders of Shadowclan and must be respected. If you overstep the chain of command, you will be punished or ejected from the clan. Grunts and higher ranks wear a skull tattoo as a sign of their authority. The current nobs of Shadowclan are: Shadowklan Wargoth: Blawharag Shadowklan Spiritgoth: Gragarn Shadowklan Klangoth: Urara The Wargoth of Shadowclan handles relations with other organizations. He also oversees distribution of troops and the training of the lower ranks. The Spiritgoth is the spiritual advisor and resident shaman trainer of Shadowclan. For all matters of a spiritual or religious nature, contact the Spiritgoth. The Klangoth manages internal affairs. She’s in charge of promotions and offers advice on how to solve problems between Klan orcs. The nobs are all EQUALS. It would be foolish to revere one nob over another. There is no one “leader” of Shadowclan. Instead, the three nobs exchange ideas and consult with each other. New nobs may be promoted as necessary. So, as a recap: Peon – Entry rank. Peons may leave Shadowclan without being considered traitors. Gruntee – Promoted after passing a test and taking their oath, may command peons. Grunt – Promoted if a gruntee shows extreme promise and completes a specific task. May command gruntees and peons. Veteran Grunt – Original members of the Shadowclan, come to rebuild the clan. Unique rank. Nob – The leaders of Shadowclan. Nobs positions are only created under special circumstances. A nob may command grunts, gruntees, and peons. How can I join? Simple. Contact one of the nobs. If we feel you are Shadowclan material, we will award you with the rank of “peon”. If you pass your Gruntee test and swear yourself to Shadowclan, we will promote you. Remember that Shadowclan is an organization completely independent of Krugmar. As a part of Shadowclan, you swear to obey the nobs under any circumstances and to remain faithful to Shadowclan. If you break your oath, you will be hunted down and killed as a traitor. Traitors are kill on sight. By taking your oath, you agree to this. So no whining if a Shadowclan member slaughters you after you’ve betrayed our organization. Also, BECAUSE we are independent from Krugmar, you must swear to obey the nobs’ commands over the commands of the Warlord. We owe no allegiance to Krugmar. We honor our father clan by remaining independent, just as they were. However, being a part of Shadowclan does not mean you have to abandon Krugmar. You may lend your steel to the orcish army if you choose, though you are not allowed to join them. The orcs may ask for your help, but they cannot command you. Only the nobs can command you. If you have any questions regarding Shadowclan policy or lore, please post them and I will do my best to answer.
