Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name: Lilyinflames

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No

How old are you?: 16

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:GMT + 0

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am 16, a girl and I am focusing on photography for my A levels. I never hated games but I was never addicted either. Until I found Minecraft :D I have been playing it for a while and played on some other survival servers. This really looks interesting to me though, partly because I am a budding writer I suppose.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Depends on my commitments but a couple hours a day is what I think!

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: I did plenty of roleplaying when I was little but I doubt that counts ^^ I have played the Dungeons and Dragons tabletop roleplaying game a couple times and I think I have it down. I think roleplaying means to BE a character. You have to forget all outside information and work with your persons emotions and personality, often doing the opposite of what you would do in the same position

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

I know metagaming is when you use information that is outside the game to give you an advantage that is inside the game. I guess if you mined towards someone because you saw their name that would be metagaming and would break the roleplay experience

Powergaming is when you roleplay unfairly. Your character is too strong and has no flaws or they are avoiding their weaknesses to benefit themselves. So if you made it clear your character is afraid from water, but then swam across an ocean to run away from some bandits, that would be powergaming.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I have lurked the forums and it looks like this server is very...in-depth. I like that, I also notice a huge bunch of creative writing which I am very interested in :D

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on some survival servers but I didn't really like the people mostly. Too many people have fun by ruining other people's days! I did play on a server with permanent death which was very entertaining and stressful. You are banned for a few months after you die on the server so I am awaiting January 1st when I may rejoin it. I believe LOTC will be at the forefront of my attention though due to its fascinating lore and what appears to be an intelligent community.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes!

How did you hear about us?: My IRL friend told me about it. I forgot for a while but then I saw it on the rank website and decided to give it a go!

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes! I am vote number 3650 and I intend to vote as often as possible!

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Lily in Flames

In-Character:

Character Name: Lilyiann Spark

What is your Race?: Elf

Biography(This should include the history of your character and HER life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Her hand swept across the page furiously, as lines and lines of graceful, spidery ink formed upon the elegant sheet of paper. Lilyiann had spent her last few minas on this paper. She would not be eating tomorrow, instead she would be laying her boundless imagination to paper in yet more tales to add to her collection. She spun in her swivel chair, a contraption her dear old father had crafted for her so many years ago. The mahogony was kept well polished and looked no older than the words she had just encouraged out from her rather incoherent mind. Her father was a wonderful old man who spent his free time delicately creating minor masterpieces of furniture. He adored his daughter and she loved him back. The day he passed peacefully into the arms of the void were not sad ones, he had passed peacefully in his sleep and left her with everything she needed to live without him, including the seat she sat on, his final creation. When not frantically arranging her thoughts into a more tangible medium she was quite a social creature, joining in Laurelin's elven community and meeting new people, who gradually grew from acquaintances to friends.

Lilyiann gave her head a small, demure shake and turned back to the writing desk which was not, in fact, made by her father but given by a friend on her 84th birthday a few weeks before. Her brown plaits were splayed across it and she reeled them back in towards her deep red dress. It fit quite nicely and definitely accentuated certain areas of the body. But it was also quite practical, short enough to enable sprinting to the markets for another pot of ink or sheet of paper before her ideas drifted away. Many of her neighbours often saw a young elf, two plaits flying behind her level with her head, a dress flattening against the oncoming wind and furiously muttering as she stormed by. She accelerated her writing faster and faster, building to a crescendo before finally stopping suddenly with a flick, dropping the quill and clutching her wrist in pain, backing away from the desk as if it were a dangerous animal. She clutched the papers with her fully functioning hand and stuffed them into an immense bundle on a shelf. Another of her tales complete.

'One day I shall have enough to publish the whole compilation' was her final thought before she was forced to think about her wasting body. She was starving, her hair was unkempt and she had bags forming under her otherwise lovely turquoise eyes. She looked to the window of her treetop home, a branch poked through, bearing a citrus fruit. To her surprise they seemed much riper than the last she had seen them, raising concerns once again about how long she had been sitting at that desk. 'I do get invested at times...' she thought, picking the fruit and with a motion that can only be described by the word 'scarfled' consumed it quickly. The juice stung where she had bitten her lip in frustration or concentration, likely a mixture of the two, and she wiped it off, twinging slightly in pain. She collapsed backwards onto her bed, and fell asleep, dreaming of her latest piece of literature. Maybe one day she would be famous for her written word but that was going to be a long way away. Still, however impatient she was, 84 is very young for an elf. Her whole life lay before her and she sure knew what she was going to do with it. Write.

Your characters ambitions:

Lilyiann hopes to become a famous writer and achieve recognition for her work. She currently saves for enough money to convince a publisher to print her compilation of stories.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Lilyiann, although brave, is no fool. She has no ability to wield anything greater than a pen. Instead she rushes to the nearest town and asks for help from any who care to fight. As payment, she crafts a grand tale of the fighters exploits and heroism for them to distribute to bards as they please. Perhaps that will gain them some more a work and a little notoriety!

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

She puffs and wheezes bent double, completely exhausted from her run. She points to a stack of papers up on a shelf and rapidly mouths to herself a torrent of gushing ideas. Her thoughts cannot be stopped even for a moment for fear of losing the next greatest addition to her writing. Lily all but tosses the money in the shopkeeper's face, swiping the papers and speeding back home to get her ideas onto paper as soon as possible.
