Ooc: Shaman Library

I'd like to get the Shaman Library started soon. If we're using the Temple of Vandokanuk as spawn, I was thinking we could build it up for use by the shaman and locate the library there. This was sort've my future intention when I built it in the build server anyway, I just needed to develop more lore behind it and the Shurr'dra lore conflicted with what I had in mind, so I had to scrap it altogether.

I was thinking we could have all of our general lore and history located in the main body of the temple and in that top room, we could seal it off and use it for storing some basic spell tomes and ancient relics, depending on how this new magic is implemented. Some spell tomes would be located elsewhere, and require pilgrimage and whatnot, but this would be a good hub for all of our general magic.

Anyhow, fellow shaman, anyone else, let me know what your thoughts are on all of this. There are parts of the temple that really need to be reworked, so I'd like to hear your ideas. I've been an Apprentice Shaman for four grueling months now. I'd like the rebuilding of this temple to be part of my Journeyman project, so maybe we can get a team together and work out the lore and the layout. The sooner we get lore developed and establish a library, the sooner we can start writing/commissioning books on our lore and history and laying the foundations for magic use in conjunction with whatever the GMs reveal to us.

If anyone's interested in this, let me know your thoughts.

((Jutra has always loved reading and writing and this project would be right up her alley. I was going to put a large library in her Blarg with Orc lore as the main topic. She has a real interest in learning all she can about being an orc and about the belifs and practices of orc's regarding Krug. She's very sad she lost the two books you left her in her old homestead outside of Sanjazel.

I'm not sure if she is destined for being a shaman. She very much liked spending time in the Temple to Krug in the old map. While she was brought up with the halfling beliefs (no diety but revereance for the harvest), she feels at peace when she's in the temple. She liked to write out her "wishes" in books and leave them at the temple for Krug to read over and hopefully act upon. She's had a few granted though not the way she expected. To be honest, I can see her chatting with Ancesters, not so much Spirits - (she's already had one run in with a spirit and she's rather weary of them.)

Anyways, I'd like to help if possible. I'm not sure she would think herself worthy of such a task so some RP would need to insue for her to join the project.))

((This would be a place for spirit journals, lore, history, magic spells, anything of significance that the War Uzg has in writing. It's only natural that the shaman would be interested in preserving such things. It doesn't even have to be a formal library, maybe just a temple with various bookshelves scattered about and various "tomes". I had been planning this for a long while, had our entire collection of books and spirit journals and everything even safely transported to the Verge and then later to the ship that was leaving. Unfortunately, all was lost, so it's time to rebuild.

Right now I just want some ideas and to make sure that the we're all in agreement, just to get the ball rolling. Once I get the all-clear and the perms, I'll role-play it all and carry the rest out in-game. We've still got a Capital to build and a lot of infrastructure to work out, but our lore and spiritualism is up there with the priorities, so keep it in mind.

Also, Jutra, maybe down the road you could become a lay practitioner of shamanism or a scholar or something along those lines, something subtle, preserving lore and traditions and story-telling. There are various forms of shamanism and various forms of training, depending on who's providing the training and what the apprentice has been called into service for. Maybe you'll find your calling in time. Just throwing it out there.))

((OO I like this - the preserving and story telling - I can see Jutra sitting by the fire with some cubbies (I'm guessing their all Mogroka's cause his are the only ones I know) each with some cuukies, munching away while she tells them a story.

back on topic - Jutra can make the books and bookcases you'll need. I can up the amount of reeds we grow at the farm.

Jutra - makr of cuukies and tellr of stories.))

(( Krogu Would love this in The near Future, As The Oldeest Orc Alive ( 194 ) He Does not Do Much... He Still has the strength to Forge weapons and Mine, But He has Lost all abilities with his blade and His other skills are slowly Detereorating *Spoilers* He Needs a Haven to Escape the troubles of Life and to have peace and Solitude ))

Oh, And I Would Love to Help With Either Lore or Building, But If I helped with Lore I would not write it, I think I am Good With Ideas Though ))

((ooo this sounds neat. I would love to help out. This could also get Zar'Zak more involved with the lore and spiritual side of orc life. Maybe even help motivate him to be a shaman or something. ))
