KidKrinkles 2044 Share Posted January 24, 2012 Eze'kiel Tarus sat inside of his tavern, laying on the wooden bar and holding his pipe off to the side from himself. The room was thick with the scent of burning tobacco, his own specially grown seed, he called it 'Sweetleaf' and it was indeed sweet. He let it burn and pulled it up to his head so he could take a smooth inhale of his pipe. He put it to his lips and like the dragon's may do so before they spit fire. He exhaled the smoke into the air and the room was clouded, he felt alone, he felt comfortable. He began to speak, "We are in a new age, my fellow citizen of Renatus. We are in an age of possibility and have a broad horizon of trees, open seas, and the sky. This world is so wide and so grand and I have no doubt in my heart it is for Renatus to expand into. Though it is for me to expand into Renatus." He found himself standing on a ruined pedestal before his people- he was comfortable here. His subjects and friends were before him gathering to listen to him with a mixture of confusion and curiosity. Eze'kiel blinked again and found himself laying on the bar, comfortable as ever. "My heir disappears in the midst of our time of need, to build our city as we found it, and he was both a vital asset and member of our productions and projects. He alone knew his plans and it brings me to this point. Speaking purely of bureaucracy- the more people involved, the less is done. That is why I am removing the council from their positions as council members. This Kingdom is no longer bound by the council." Eze'kiel blinked and peered through the smoke of his illusion, his comfortable dream, to see the faces of his people staring back at him. He saw the dirty faces of peasants and farmers, the shaded faces of the soldiers in their iron helmets, and the shop-keepers. He looked to each of them for comfort, for a reaction, for some solid reply to his actions. He found a continued confusion and awe. He saw some subtle nods from friends and associates, some on the council, and others biting their lips nervously. He didn't dare look down to his hands- he feared what he may become while wielding this power and responsibility, so he did what came naturally. "I hope to lead us truly now- with absolution and purity in both my actions and words. Now with my word as the authority- I will see things done for once. We're often the butt of the world- and I cannot deny- in comparison to the hardened warriors of the Dwarves to the mighty berserkers of the Orcs, and the disciplined soldiers of Hanseti, to the nimble people of Malinor and the peaceful workers of Salvus. We are a child to the world. Let us mature and let us blossom then to what we were meant to be. To be powerful- to be prosperous- to be fair and insightful. Let us rise to our potential now- Asulon is a clean slate, and we a brush- we alone will paint our legacy." He wasn't entirely true in what he said- he would still have help. Behind every good leader are good subjects after all. But he looked down to his hand, in his bar, after his speech, and saw he was still Eze'kiel- and that was good enough for him. He feared what this Kingdom might do to him.
cometking123 236 Share Posted January 24, 2012 *raises his eyes at the declaration* Well, this is new. I can't wait to see how this turns out. The King is always someone who would be protected, no matter the cost. But. *fiddles with an apple as he bites it* You never know when Checkmate is. Jordan1921 373 Share Posted January 25, 2012 You see a Dwarf drinking away his sorrows in the tavern, he takes a moment away from his drink to peer through the smokey tavern to see a bearded man in noble clothes. He listened to all Tarus had to say, and then gets up from his seat and approaches Tarus with a mug in his hand. "Hail, Tarus! I must say this decision may be best fer your kingdom!" The Dwarf hangs his head as he thinks back to old memory's. Tha Dwarven kingdom has become too engulfed by tha council without a strong king, it is crumbling." The Dwarf looks up, and looks at the faces of Renatus, and the king. "Cheers! Ta a new Renatus, and strong kings!"
。◕‿‿◕。 Hawk Whitestorm 715 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Listening from the shadows, unseen by anyone, Eagle nods his approval. Thinking to himself, Eagle thins that councils just don't work as they are intended, with so many lusting for power. Nothing would get done, ever. Eagle would rather follow a lion than a pack of rats. A new beginning is starting for Renatus, a beginning headed by a strong and capable king like Tarus. Eagle leaves a small note at Tarus' desk, freshly sealed with the seal of the Rangers. "Maybe there could be a council of sorts. A council of advisers? Could be useful..." everblue2er101 906 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Josef stands in the room, not trying to hide but not staying in the open either. He holds paper and a quill, taking notes as Eze'kiel talks. He makes no notion of approval or dislike, but does think to himself, 'Hmmm... I wonder what this will do. It gives Eze'kiel more power, aye. In Aegis, this would have been too much power. But here, in these ruins that we still try and repair, perhaps it makes more sense to have one strong ruler. Hopefully he still accepts the advice of his former councilmen and friends...' Hoovie 31 Share Posted January 25, 2012 ** James Goldweaver stands near the back looking around at the faces of the citizens in the room. He is nervous about there no longer being a council and speaks to his friend next to him ** "Things will be different without the council but in times of need, great nations need strong and decisive leaders. I have good faith our leader; the future for Renatus is bright. "
argonian 14254 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Tylos nods while Tarus is speaking to make it look like he's supporting him fully but in reality, Tylos is unsure about having only one man in charge who can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Still, unless Tarus starts beheading people for no reason, it doesn't make a difference to Tylos.
