What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

What does roleplaying mean to me: Roleplaying means quite a lot. Games are far more immersive when you roleplay. Roleplaying, in my opinion allows you to create another identity for yourself which you can come to love and enjoy. It makes the game more about the character and less about the game. It's a relationship you allow yourself to build between yourself and the character.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is using information that is out of your characters immediate realm of knowledge. You may know the information (you the gamer) but your character doesn't (your minecraft character). Powergaming is when you roleplay with things that you don't actually posses, for example0: I'm playing D&D and I kill someone and simply say "I kill the Orc" well what did you kill it with? How? and where did you acquire that which you killed him with.

Character Name:

Aelam

What is your Race?:

Elven

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Aelam is a tall grizzled elf with dark brown hair and a full beard. He seems out of place because of his unkempt clothing and lack of care for hygene. Aelam is a half elf. His father is a human blacksmith named Calan and his mother is a Wood Elf named Faethemere. Aelam had a sister who was taken at a young age, Merenwen. Aelam, distraught over the loss of his sister determined himself to find her after his father trained him to fight and wield a sword. His mother was an adept alchemist. His mother taught him how to make poisons and other potions to aid him in combat, but Aelam was never successful at potion making and focused more on fighting and blacksmith training. After he learned to wield the sword, and the basics of making health potions, he and his father determined to go look for his sister Merenwen.

After crossing two deserts on their way to find his sister, he and his father stopped in a forest to set camp for the night. While sleeping the two were attacked by a pack of wolves and his father was bitten twice in the leg. Aelam, lacking skill in potion making was unable to heal his fathers infected wounds. Carrying his father on his back, Aelam continued into to forest hoping to find help from wood elves living in the wood.

Aelam now deep in the woods found what he was looking for, however, not without trouble. A young woman and an elderly wood elf were being attacked by a group of bandit raiders. Aelam rested his father among the roots of a tall oak drew his sword and lunged for the bandits, headstrong to save the young woman and what he thought was her grandfather. With the help of the young woman's skill with the bow, Aelam and the girl were able to defeat the bandits and using his little knowledge of healing potion, he treated their minor wounds.

Aelam, interested to discover the young girls identity saw a blacksmith's hammer and anvil tattoo on her shoulder similar to the one on his own. Curious he asked her about the tattoo to discover that in fact it was his sister, Merenwen whom he'd found in the woods. Merenwen had been training in alchemy in the woods since she'd been taken from their parents all those years ago. Merenwen used her knowledge of potions to heal their father's wounds and from their the embarked on their way back to their home.

Your characters ambitions:

Aelam was a lone wolf seeking vengeance for his sisters abduction. Once he found her, the two resigned to joining a human or elf city and building some semblance of a home for themselves. He despises orcs, and he and his sister will help anyone in the fight for justice and prosperity.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

He slays the bandits with whatever weapons he has at his disposal. If he has no weapons, Aelam is adept and hand to hand combat and will use his wit and nimble feet to take down the sluggish bandits.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"I'm looking for information regarding my parents, Galadriel and Aeathel Forrestrider."

Shop owner: I'm not sure I recognize them sir?

"Well, have you got any mushroom soup?"
