It started as a normal day, carefree, the citizens smiled, and laughed as they talked. They had no idea of the horror to come. None of us did, and it took us all by surprise...

I was stationed in the guard post, watching the gate when I heard the scream. It was so loud, I didn't know a voice was possible of that sound. But that was nothing compared to what was to come. Before we knew it, people were running, screaming, and skeletons were everywhere! I was just lucky I could keep my calm. They were in the town center at first, as I went to go aid, they climbed onto the walls, and shot from above! I and another recruit, fought valiently, but it was no use, they clambered over the mountains, and pinned us down. It was only by luck, we ran the gauntlet to the safety of the Bakery, to get the people to safety. then, with a battle cry on my lips, I charged in! I slayed many of the fiends! Then, the arrow struck. I barbed arrow, that stuck in me, I had only the strength to go to the bakery, and hold out there. I shot arrows at the fiends, and struck them down when they came too close, but there were still a few things we couldn't even imagine...

We thought it was almost over, the skeletons were almost gone, then Pigmen came! The came charging, rotted and squelling, they charged! They took down scores of us, but we defeated them in time for a giant to come! He stomped around, and it took all of our might to slay him! He fell hard, and he fell good. It was like the sound of a God's footsteps. As they retreated, diamond and gold were dropped, and we all celebrated, but we didn't head the sorceror's warning, we had no idea he would actually return, we thought it was an empty threat... We were wrong...

They came out of nowhere, a few days later. It was dark, and I was asleep. As I put on my armor sluggishly, I saw the chaos outside. Zombies everywhere, killing at will. As I rushed out in my armor, I felt my wound from the arrow tug, and I gritted my teeth as I pushed forward. We had to protect Solace! it was a tough battle, and hard won. The damn sorceror kept jumping from roof to roof, faster than we could blink! As we slayed the last of them, we searched, and searched, but the damn sorceror was nowhere to be seen, and we had wounded to tend to, and next time, we will be ready for them...

Josef sees a young Human run into Arethor yelling. As he gets close he can make out the words.

'... was under attack! Monsters! Everywhere! They came to kill us all! Solace was under attack!' The man stops, nearly falling over from exhaustion, before a crowd helps him. Josef thinks to himself.

'Solace too?! Arethor was just attacked by spiders as well. They came from the rooftops, falling down to the streets and striking at all in the city. Poison ones along with the normal ones. Then skeletons, a whole crowd. All monsters, dispatched by the brave fighters of Renatus. And yet... was this Undead? There was no lightning, no one casting any spells to be seen. This might not be the last time we see this kind of attack...'

((It was such a fun event. I really enjoyed it.))
