Mining Expedition ((Ooc))

This is an idea I had to try and get more Dwarves to return to the city. It would take place either every weekend or every other weekend.

Mining Expedition

The Main focus is to get more Dwarves to return to Karik.

Guilds involved: Mining Guild, Smithing Guild, Farming Guild, Lumberjacks, Legion, and maybe the architect guild.

Before hand OOC requirements: Before we go on the expedition the Head Miner and a King would have to go out and find a good mountian to mine. After they find it either a GM or the King would have to region it to allow the people on the expedition to do something.

Roles in the Expedition: The number next to them is out of a scale of 10 on how much we would need them.

Legion (7): They would lead the expedition and clear the area of mobs before the rest of the people arrive. After the mining starts they would help set up a palisade and guard from theives, mobs, and random people. They will also protect the miners from mobs and explore any caves we find.

Miners Guild (10): They would mine. They would do this by starting at the mountian and mining a 10x10 hole down with a spiral staircase on the outside. Every 6 blocks down they would have a mineshaft going straight for 20 blocks.

Farmers (3): The Farmers would bring along some animals to kill for food along the way. They would also start growing wheat.

Smiths (6): The smiths would come along to make and repair any pickaxes or other tools that start to show signs of wear. As extra help they could mine a bit also.

Lumberjacks (5): The lumberjacks would gather wood to supply sticks for torches, tool shafts, and erect a palisade for the Legion to guard from. They would also chop down neighboring trees so the Legion has good visibility in looking for enemies.

How the Kingdom Benefits:

After the expedition the ores and wood will be split up between the kingdom and the individual guilds. This is a rough outline of how I think it should go:

Miners Guild: The miners give 50% of their ores to the kingdom. Another 25% will go towards the smithing guild for new tools and armor. The remaining 25% the mining guild will be allowed to keep.

Everyone else: Everyone else will give 50% of everything they get to the kingdom. The rest can go to the individual guilds or the quotas. The farmers will bring any remaining animals and any animals they find back to the kingdom.

After the Expedition:

After the expedition is where the architects come in. They will go in at a later date and remove most torches. The goal is to get the light level below 7 and thus allow mob spawning. They can also make the mine look ruined so people who didn't go on the expedition can still use it for their RP. Later on we can use the ruined mines for an RP event like "The Reclaimation of the Mines!"

I hope you liked it and if you have any more ideas please say!

It sound like a fun event but I have two big problems with it. #1- Only the Miners would have any thing to do. #2- It is just asking for it to be raided.

I didn't finish it yet, that is why the rest of the guilds role's are not mentioned. As for the raiding, personaly I think that would make for some great RP and that is why the Legion is there.

Actually, I have ideas for it after we use it but didn't have time during school. I will finish it ASAP.

Just to say, I don't want to lead this. I was throwing it out to see if there would be much interest. If someone would like to lead it I would love for them to say so and they can use this for organization.
