Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: My minecraft name just happens to be ANamikaze1.

How old are you?: My current age is 15, and I shall be 16 in November.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: My country of residence is the United States. - GMT -5

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Most people who know me would say so. After all, it's only natural to have a good grip of the language if you've been speaking it your whole life.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a fellow who prides himself on being more gentleman-like than the average person my age. Granted, I am a gamer so my gentlemanly side becomes uprooted every now and then. I've always loved to role-play and have had a variety of experiences doing so. None of which involved any type of game.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Well, I do have a lot of schoolwork each day and a hectic schedule. But if I had to estimate, I would put my time at about 15 hours per week, at least.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I have had some experience in role-playing. Roleplaying to me is a chance to escape the normal doldrums of everyday life. When roleplaying, you have the chance to fight off dragons, save damsels-in-distress, perhaps even find love. You can possibly become anyone or anything you like, as long as you stay in character, of course. Personally, I like to play as an anti-hero of sorts. Someone who will do what he needs to do, but still have a heart.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've had some experience in roleplaying. I'm currently part of a Assassin's Creed role-play, and used to be part of a Percy Jackson role-play. Both of those are text based role-plays, and had no games supporting them.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: I generally try to avoid meta-gaming. It is essentially going out-of-character whilst you are role-playing. If I were to say, call a player by the name above their head, or use any information in the forums not known to my character, that would be meta-gaming.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is essentially becoming a dictator for a second, and forcing your will upon other characters without giving them a chance to counter your plans. If I were to steal from someone's active chest, for some form of revenge, without giving them a chance to explain themselves, or anything for that matter, that would be power-gaming. Another example would be when you “godmod” yourself, and make it so you can’t be killed or they dodge everything that’s thrown at them. Twinking, when a low-level character has high-level items, would also fall under the category of power-gaming. This brings to thought of another form of power-gaming, the munchkin. Those excruciatingly annoying fiends are people who are just in it for the achievements and the power. So, essentially your average Call of Duty player.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be a rather exciting experience. I've heard tales and seen videos of role-playing in Minecraft, and it looks extremely fun! I expect it will be a nice escape from everyday life.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Well, I used to play on the "World of Naught" server, but it unfortunately went down. I currently play on the "Haftacraft" server.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have indeed.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes sir.

How did you hear about us?: I learned about Lord of the Craft by a youtuber by the name of PotatoOrgy, Potatio (AKA Squirrelskin) in game.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: Excuse me, but what's Minestatus?

In-Character:

Character Name: Vokunkendov Weatherbottom(Vokun for short)

What Race are you?: Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I am Vokunkendov, but everyone just calls me Vokun. As a young lad, I was kidnapped by an Orc. The reasons for this were never revealed, but I was under the Orc’s “care”, that is, until an Elf struck the Orc down with an arrow, whilst the Orc was travelling through elven lands. The Elf, named Faniel Weatherbottom, raised me from the tender age of one. Being raised by elves is no easy experience for a Dwarf, like myself. The prejudice was unprecedented. I was always being mocked about my height, my love for violence, and for being most comfortable when underground. I had a difficult childhood due to this. I left Faniel, by that time my father, at the age of 18, and ventured into the world, hoping to find my own people. So I traveled for months, always hearing rumors, but never finding any dwarves. Finally, after a year of searching, I stumbled upon a dwarven village... and was left disappointed by the lack of knowledge the average Dwarf had compared to the average Elf. For awhile, I took this to be a fact. Then one day, I met a dwarf child who was uncharacteristically bright. It was then that I realized what the dwarves would be capable of if they possessed the knowledge of the elves. It could be possible for them to conquer all of Asulon! As the old saying goes, “Brain over brawn.” Imagine if the dwarves had both! So, I dedicated my life to further educating my own kind, knowing that if I did not succeed in my lifetime, I would more than likely acquire students that would carry on my work.

I am 30 years old, quite young for my kind, and I have a love of knowledge that rivals my love for war. As I was raised by the Fair Folk (Elves for those with lesser knowledge), so I tend not to fit in well with my own kind. Then again, my love for violence and mining also separate myself from the elves. I visit my father often, every decade or so. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a Dwarf that has my sophistication, but I still search. I received my robes from my father’s friend, who was a thief. He said that it would help me blend in, but how a dwarf wearing a white coat would not attract attention is beyond me! But, it is rather sentimental to me, so it is my main form of dress.

What is your Character's ambitions?: My ambition is enlighten the dwarven race as a whole, and to find a Dwarf woman who shares my interests.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool is a pickaxe, though I am rather decent with a sword. Though, you could also say my favorite tool is logic.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I am rather knowledgeable when compared to other dwarves, in my opinion anyway. I also love to debate, and am told that I am quite good at it.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): AiGgw.pngTq1uq.png

Other Information about your Character: None that I can think of.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

"I was travelling from Cloud Temple when I saw a small halfling, being harassed and beaten by two men, who were both armed. Now, my dwarf instincts told me to charge into battle, but my elf like mind told me otherwise. Now, it's a shame that the halfling was getting harassed, but it was not my business to interfere. Perhaps the lad did something he was not supposed to do, and this was punishment. I contemplated this as I walked past the halfling and further down the road."

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"Well my kind fellow, perhaps you could get me a new sword. My current one is starting to wear down and rust, so I require a new one. What would the price be?" The man said 700 minas. "That's outrageous! I could make my own for a cheaper price! No thank you sir, but I will not be purchasing any products from you this day. Good day to you."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

"Looks like a good loot, but I'll wait for a bit before I take anything. Wouldn't want to upset the owner of this hut, if there is one." And sure enough, a human came bounding across the way and came in the hut. He inquired about Vokunkendov. "Oh do not worry human, I was just wondering whether or not I could stay the night?" The human nodded but asked for a rent of 5 minas. Vokunkendov nodded and gave him the money.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Greetings my kind fellows! What are ye doing out here in the wilderness?" Vokunkendov learned that they were a trading camp. "Well, this is a wonderful camp, but I must be on my way, I have a meeting with the Dwarf king, and I don't want to be late! Goodbye sirs and misses. Perhaps we shall meet again under better circumstances."

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

"I suppose I could help you. I'm not the best with a sword, but I could be of some assistance." The leader nodded and told you the plan. Vokunkendov was to distract the bandits, whilst the archers take them out. The plan worked, and the party was soon back at town. Vokunkendov received his reward and thanked the guards. "Thank you sirs for this money, and I do hope the best of luck to you in the future!"
