An Invention?!

Diary.

Tyret smiled and sat down in his chair, stacking the block of papers infront of him properly.
He smiled faintly, looking out the small window where the bright sun was shining through.

Sereg was running around the courtyard, yelling at the five new recruits: Attempting to make them take push-ups, the usally 45 as he normally commanded them to do. Sereg looked over his shoulder and nodded at Tyret as he spotted him sitting in his office...
Tyret grinned and drew his attention to the papers once more, dipping his quill in the red dyed ink.

Tyret rested the quill onto the paper, about to draw, but leanned back in the chair, holding the quill on the exact same spot.

"Hmm... What went wrong yesterday... The unpure was too fast.. Couldn't load my bow quick enough to interrupt him from using those plants too... Hmmm..."

Tyret sighed, and leant over the table, carefully dipping the quill in the ink once more, starting to draw a long bow. Looking out the window as he's finished.

"So.. I got my bow... And.. I try to shoot.. But, I'm always fumbling with the arrows. What to do..."

He started staring at the bow on the paper, sighing once more, getting out of the chair, walking over to the window.

As he looked out of it he frowned in calm matter as two birds flew by, sitting down on the roof of the building infront of him, on each side of a woodplank. He frowned and looked at the two birds, as they raises there wing there's closest the plank.

"Hmm.. Looks like a.. Like a bow! If.. Hmmm... Raliiif!"

Tyret shouted for Ralif, folding the paper, walking towards the door as the exhaused Ralif stepped inside. "Somethings wrong Wolfgank?"

"No.. But, I need you to help me, just got an idea."

Tyret worked for days and several nights too, trying to find out how too make... This.. Crossed bow. But a morning after hours of work, wood carving and metal working he did it. Making a big and very heavy crossbow,

but Tyret wasen't satisfied, this wouldn't help him be able to shoot the unpure faster than normal... But after another month of irritation and fustration he finally figured out how to make it compact, so he did...

((So this is basically how I,
and the rest of the Wihuns came up with the idea for small hand-crosbows.
And just crossbows in general.

-With a crossbow I will be able to draw it quickly and shoot instantly.

-It takes a huge amount of time to re-load a crossbow and especially the larger ones.

-A crossbow doesn't shoot harder than a normal bow in anyway.

-A crossbow will be roleplayed as a normal bow.

-The crossbow isn't very handy, due to it's "hard to craft" level and it takes alot of time to make one.

Still needs this approved from someone, but I guess I can do it since it wont really give me any advantages, but alot of disadvantages. (which will be fun)

What do you think? ))

I like the idea. A crossbow would probably be bit more powerful then a regular bow though.

On another note I think that LotC needs more people making cool Rp weapons! I love seeing people with custom weapons. It usually makes for really good Rp.

I already RP my Dwarvish character having a crossbow instead of a bow. But I like it that you went and showed actual lore for it. If you have read the lore on the Helopolis he does a good job showing pictures of what he is making. It would look great if you did this too. No need to though.

Was going too, but I destroyed around ten papers because it' really hard to draw with ink and I don't got any base anymore for the crossbow I made...

Thank-you :3

Also, yes, it is time the technology advances to this, even if it is just RP, I would look forward to seeing these RPed in war.

In use yes, a lore behind them no.

Is there lore behind the invention of swords?

Bows, clubs, axes?

Those inventions happened before the time of LotC, so they don't need lore. This, on the other hand, could use some lore.

Actually the crossbow was invented in reality in 600 bce, but more commonly used in 1066 Ce... Thus it was around along with the other weaponry.

Real life is irrelevant, due to the fact that nobody (to my own knowledge, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) used a crossbow, period, before Asulon. If nobody's done it ICly, then it doesn't exist yet.

Actually the dwarves always used crossbows, it was rare to see a dwarf with a "Bow" but then again not many know of the dwarvish ways.

I saw it several times in Aegis, and even used it myself.
