Selling And Buying

Josef finishes writing the last of the notices just as the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. He posts one in Arethor and makes the long journey to Salvus for another. Using the magic of his soulstone he goes to the Cloud Temple, then rides the ship to Holm. Finally, he pays two couriers to go to Alras and the Hanseti capital. Satisfied with the coverage it will receive, he makes his way back to his office and awaits replies.

Citizens of Asulon!

I have many items that I no longer have use for and would like to sell. If you are interested in any of the items listed send a bird to the office of Josef Timothee in the Arethor slums, or reply on the bottom of this note. Prices are all negotiable.

- Handfuls of cocoa beans.

- Packets of melon, pumpkin and wheat seeds.

- Many bushels of wheat.

- Bones from various animals and monsters.

- Rocks flecked with bits of iron ore.

- Plenty of fresh watermelon slices.

- Many bags of redstone dust.

- Lots of lumps of coal.

- A few lapis lazuli gems.

- Many strings from spider corpses, as well as their eyes.

- Many strange things found on the corpses of slimes and blazes.

- Rails from underground.

- Goo stripped from dead slimes.

- Many rocks with moss growing on them.

I am also buying the following things.

- Iron ingots or iron armour.

- Arrows.

- New clothing for my son.

- Sixteen glass panes.

The bottom of the notice has lots of black space for replies to be added.

*a tiny messily written note is posted under the notice located in Salvus*

I am willing to buy the cocoa beans.

How much are you willing to sell the "handful" of cocoa beans for?

We can negotiate from there.

I am also unsure what you mean by "a handful", as in a small bag... medium bag..? I guess we'll see if we meet in person.

A courier knocks on the door to Josef's office. Letting him in, the courier gives him the response from the Salvus note. Reading the reply that the courier copied from the original Josef sends him with a reply to add to the original. He thinks he recognizes the name. Pondering, he decides it is probably from the sign on the front of a small house in Solace he remembers visiting, long ago.

Are you available to meet in Salvus then? I think I can make the trip. I have well over one hundred beans for sale.

- Josef Timothee

The courier from Alras arrives later. Josef reads the note with concern, then asks the courier if he is sure he copied it down correctly. The courier assures him that it is correct. Josef writes the reply slowly, not quite sure how to put it.

I would love to buy the glass panes from you but my bird cannot find people it has never been to before. Is there somewhere specific in Alras I could send the bird so that we can arrange a meeting place and time?
