In-Character:

Character Name: Torakk

What Race are you?: Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Torakk is not a pureblooded cave dwarf.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Torakk was born alongside his twin brother, Gorad, in a small cave dug by their father. As the two twins grew, their father, Renin told about the mighty nation of Kal’Urguan, and that he would send the two brothers to fight for it when they were of age, avenging their father, who had been blown a crippling blow in a duel, shaming him greatly. The two brothers longed to serve, and practiced their skills under Renin’s instruction.

Torakk and his brother Gorad both aspired to be great warriors, Toraak choosing his fists, while Gorad an axe. The two practiced night and day, till they could no more, taking occasional breaks to run into the nearby village for supplies, where they would lie about their age, and enjoy the fine ale at the bars. They lived a decent, if not secluded childhood.

Torakk, being a typical dwarf, honorable, strong, hot-headed and accustomed to his mug, simply wishes for honor to be brought back to his family name. He would aspire to military service.

The young cave dwarf would have a slightly lighter skin pigment than his brethren, but it would be hardly noticeable. The angles on his face are sharp, and years of honing his hand to hand skills on training dummies and the local wild life have built up his muscles.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Toraak aspires to bring honor back to his father’s name alongside his brother through serving the nation of Kal’Urguan.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Torakk’s favorite weapon would be his fists, though as a hobby he loves to mine, the various gems and rocks of the earth astound him.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Torakk is skilled in wrestling, or beating things with his fists. [[ A rather peculiar trait of his is that he has learned to wrestle without spilling a drop of ale from his mug, which he holds in his free hand!]]

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): http://imgur.com/73ABI

Other Information about your Character: Torakk is very fond of his brother. The two share a mutual feeling of respect and “brotherly love” for each other, and would rather not be parted for anything.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Torakk’s sense of honor kicks in, and he briefly glances over at his brother, who would be sliding his axe off his back. Torakk cracks his knuckles, and the two dwarves march up to the villains.

“’Ey” Torakk says, talking gruffly though his beard. “ Ye harrasin’ me friend ‘ere?” He flexes his arms a bit, and balls his hands into a fist, Gorad would look just as menacing, his axe in hand. The Halfling quickly makes her way behind her two dwarven defenders, as Torakk eyes the two “warriors”, who stand, dumbstruck. After a split second of reasoning between them, the bandits scatter, leaving the Halfling unscathed. “Yeh, you better run!”, Gorad yells. Torakk spits on the ground, giving the Halfling a nod, letting her continue her journey.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Torakk smiles roughly at the merchant, walking over to the stall. “Jus’ browsin’”, he spits onto the stone walkway, pulling himself up to view his wares. Torakk’s stomach rumbles loudly as he spots the loaf of bread behind the counter. “Ey, gimme some o’ that bread, will ya?” he says, sliding a few minas to the man. “Certainly!”, says the merchant, happy for the business. Torakk gives him a quick nod, and takes a large hunk out of the bread, chewing on it slowly as he continues through the city.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Torakk grumbles at the shoddy workmanship of the sword, considering his brothers work. He handles the blade with his large paws, and returns it to its chest with a loud “Bah!” His eyes then drift to over to the hunks of refined iron, and he spits on the floorboards of the hut, figuring he would rather mine iron himself then to risk it with some old hunks of metal.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Torakk thanks the Gods he found someone, and grumbles through his beard, “Ye got any ale?” Luckily, the merchants nodded, and he exchanged the minas he had for a large mug of the stuff. Torakk washes his mouth with it, and swallows the ale with a belch, wishing they had something other than the elven excuse for ale. “Ye seen me brother? We got parted in th’ woods ‘round ‘ere.” A tall elven woman would walk out of a tent, with a worried expression on her face. Torakk shoots her an odd glance, showing his curiosity. “This is him?” she says. Torakk sighs, as he leans over Gorad, who had been injured by some wildlife during their journey. “Aye…” he says sadly as he sets himself down beside Gorad, waiting for him to wake.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Torakk shakes his head, and looks over at his brother, who gives him a slight nod. He cracks his knuckles loudly as Gorad removes his axe and heaves it in his hands. Torakk spits on the ground beside the guard captain. “Aye, we’ll help ye knock around these bandits, no charge.” The two dwarves stand amongst the human guards, who were planning a counter-attack. Torakk leaned into his brother, “Those bandits be pillagin’ the city, an’ their guards sit and make plans.” “Aye, to ‘ell with dis.” Gordo replies, and the two slip away from the group, marching into the city.

I loved your application. A well balanced and well thought out character :)

You understand the rules, what powergaming and what metagaming are so well done! Your first application too, that is rather rare.

If you need any help at all just send me a PM!

Also, if you actually get someone to join as your brother then you two would become quite a formidible force indeed! :) If you join our Team Speak server you might find someone willing to do just that. Alternatively you can make a post about it on our forums :)
