A Warning

As you walk stroll into Salvus, you see a large stake with a terribly mangled corpse on it. A man clad in ornate plate armor, his face hidden by a helmet matching the armor, stands beside it. He shouts,

"This man right here was known as 'Aeries' of the Ordinators! This is a warning to any foolish, and surviving, Ordinator willing enough to walk around their land with such a blasphemous title! If I EVER find another Ordinator doing the duties of a regular Ordinator, or.. Gods forbid being corrupt, I will post more corpses on more stakes until this place is comparable to Krugmar!"

The man walks off, out the city.

"Aye. That man is right. I will look upon Salvus for the remnant of the ordinators, if they still are in their duty.

*sits in the grass poking the dirt with his fishing pole, as he usually does. Hidden behind his silence and innocence, The Masked thinks;*

"The Ordinators have offered me "shinies" for my "help" in certain matters. Frankly, that sounds more compelling to me than looking at another body on a stake. I put up at least seven around our fortress anyways...

I don't even know who the "Ordinators" are, but why should I care if they offer me diamonds and gold? I don't care if you try to put me up on one of those stakes.

You'll be dead before you get the chance to touch me."

*The Masked chuckles softly behind his golden-skull-like mask, and continues to poke the dirt with his stick, pretending not to listen to the others*

The figure frowns beneath the brown, filthy cloak, his face hidden all but his lips as they move.

"Stay with Syrila at her fort. Please. No more killing in the streets of Solace. Not till we have to."

*Kvothe begins dragging the beheaded corpse of Lyweneth through the muddy road of Solace towards the other body, but hearing the cloaked man, clears his throat awkwardly and backpedals, deciding to instead throw it away surreptitiously in a nearby alley.*
