Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

My account name is Wasp911.

How old are you?:

I am thirteen years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Australia, Adelaide - GMT +9:30.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes I believe I do, I come from Australia.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I play many computer games and love Minecraft the most. I used to play dungeons and dragons with a pen and paper. It was really fun. I have played Minecraft for two years now and have been on various servers. I also like love roleplaying the most.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

24 hours at least.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

I have been on a few servers in multiple games and have roleplayed before.

To me it means you take up the role of another character. You give them a story and you play it out as if you are the character. You act with their motives and not your own, changing how you act to suit the actions of the character you have chosen to role play as. You know how your player would behave, you make it seem to others as if you are actually the character by doing what they would do. It's basically a whole new world where people would act and react on what others say and do, like a big improvisation.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

Well, as said before I have played dungeons and dragons, many other games like Skyrim, Oblivion, D&D online, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Dungeon Siege 1 and 2.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Metagaming means to take information from out of character, which your character isn't meant to know or say, and bring it into roleplay. This would be if you were to see something posted on the forums in a non roleplay section and use it to their advantage. Or take something from an OOC chat etc.

E.G. If someone was to check if another player had a villain application before they talked to them and it influenced how they acted towards them because they knew he was a villain.

E.G. Saying hello and using their name even if you haven't asked what it is yet.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Powergaming means to make your character say or do something that you declare successful without letting the other player react or have a chance. This makes roleplay fights unfair and one sided. When people use this it can sometimes not even make sense roleplaying wise.

E.G. Saying that you lifted up an iron anvil as a halfling climbed up and dropped it on someone's head instantly killing them. The other player should have had a chance to dodge or react. How could a halfling also lift and climb something with an iron anvil.

E.G. Saying that you stole the other players money or items without letting them do anything. Or saying that your character has tied the other player up and killed them with one blow of their axe.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I think this server will be really awesome. I expect there to be very awesome and friendly/helpful Admins online often. I expect that there will be some pretty epic builds involved as well.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Gioboi-Got bored. McZetra-Got griefed. Skyenet-Closed down. Timecraft-Closed down. MCgallery-Not much people on it. MineStack-I own it but I don't play on it much. MindCrack Fan Server-Too many people on and it lags. Minecraft HungerGames-I am building it with a team of builders so I haven't actually left it yet. Many more which I can't remember as it was the first time I had bought Minecraft.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I have read and agreed to the rules. I have also printed them off for future references.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I promise, to abide by every rule put in place. Ban me if I break them.

How did you hear about us?:

PotatoOrgy's YouTube channel. Very interesting!

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

In-Character:

Character Name:

Kagbur_Copperfist

What Race are you?:

Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

N/A

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Kagbur found himself in depths of a dark cave. He didn't know his name, age, or what he even looked like. An old sack was sat next to him, he turned to look at it. He opened it and inside he found a piece of bread, it looked stale, a pickaxe and a small book. He began to observe the pickaxe and he noticed that there was a small engraving on it the letters G C. Kagbur began to open this strange book, it was old and torn. Inside there were a few names in the front, Kagbur, Gorgan and Helgar. He began flipping the pages and memories started flooding back to him.

The first page stated the birth of Kagbur with the parents Helgar and Gorgan. There was a small bio on Kagbur it read, Kagbur_Copperfist, Dwarf, male. It also stated his date of birth, he did some quick calculations and had worked out that he was 865 years of age. He remembered that his name was indeed actually Kagbur and had decided that according to the book his parents were Helgar and Gorgan. Kagbur turned to look at the pickaxe again and suddenly something clicked in his mind. The initials on the pickaxe, G C, were infact his dad's. Gorgan_Copperfist. Kagbur starts to remember things from his past such as his dad teaching him to smith and mine. Kagbur had become really good at the task.

As he got further into the book he turned to the most disturbing page he had ever written. He began to cry as he read it. He had written about his parents death in the time of the fall of Aegis. The Undead had taken them and killed them right infront of Kagbur. The Undead had gripped his parents head from below their chins and began to pull hard. His parents had shrieked with pain and Kagbur was crying. The Undead had spared him and he had to leave the town. He couldn't bare to see his parents wide open mouths on their heads that lay on the floor. He later ended up sailing to Asulon with everyone else. He took his skills with him, mining and smithing. He loved his parents very much.

Kagbur tucked the diary and the pickaxe back into the bag. Kagbur had some understanding of who he was now. He wiped back some tears. He knew that he must leave the cave. Kagbur strung the bag over his back and began to grip the rocks with a firm grasp and make his ascent up the rocky wall. As he got to the top he could see light peeping through a gap in the wall. He began to kick very hard at it. He was hoping it would crumble. He tried for ages but he could not get it to break open. He remembered that he had a pick, he gripped it tightly and it fit his hands really well. He began to swing it through the air at the wall, it moved so elegantly and began to crumble the wall with ease. He made a hole small enough for him to crawl though and got out. A little later that day, as he walked through the forest outside of the hole he dug, he managed to here talking coming from somewhere.

He yelled, “Ey, help me. I'm lost!”

The talking stopped and he heard a reply. “Show yourself!”

The men stood and asked him, “What is ye name? And why do ye look so dirty?”

Kagbur replied with a simple, “Kagbur, I awoke in a cave I must have fallen. I don't remember much but I found a diary which helped me remember.”

One of the men asked, “ Are ye ok? We can get ye to the nearest town if ye'd like.”

“Aye I'm fine thankye. If ye could take me to a town that would be great thanks.”

The men helped Kagbur back to the nearest town. Some people in the town took care of him and got him patched up.

He asks around for the name of the town and land he is in. He then discovers he is in Solace, a part of the region called Salvus. He is told that the land he is in is called Asulon. He begins helping around the town with various jobs. One day he was working at the black smith and remembers how very much he enjoyed crafting the metals into weapons and armour for the army. He was recognised as “that Dwarf Who Helps”.

The army could see how much work he had done in smithing and hired him to help out with the repairing of their weaponry and armour. He enjoyed it very much.

Kagbur was short tempered at times but friendly. He loves to drink and craft weapons. He has light brown hair and a scraggly beard. He does not know his eye colour as he has never checked. He also despises Endermen. Or “those big black pillars” as he calls them. He finds them too tall, and always tries to charge at them.

Sometimes people would make fun of him as he was so small. He would shout at them and scare them away.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Kagbur hopes to help anyone in need because people are always helping him. He also feels that he needs to repay society by being useful because he is still alive. He hopes to earn enough money in the army to feed himself. He also wants to give some of his money to less fortunate people then him.

What is your character’s favourite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

His trusty pickaxe because it was his fathers. The grip fells nice and the way it swings through the air so elegantly. He also uses it to remember his family. it is one of his only momentos of which to remember them. He treasures it greatly.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst travelling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Kagbur runs to the halfling's side he quickly draws a sword and holds off the warriors. One of the warriors seems to be older than the other, and he laughs at how easy it would be to kill a young human. Kagbur pushes back one of the warriors with his foot and spins his blade through the older one. He doesn't seem to die, but he replies with a quick swing of the blade and manages to cut open Kagbur's arm. Kagbur grunts and quickly drives his sword through the older warrior's stomach. The younger one turns to face Kagbur. Kagbur can see the fear in his eyes, he yells at the warrior loudly spitting in his face and he turns and runs, tripping on a crack in the road. The halfling turns and thanks Kagbur and offers him some money. Kagbur replies, "No thanks, I'm only here to help." He smiles and trots off into the woods.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Kagbur:*Taps his foot nervously on the floor* "Hail, who might ye be?"

Merchant: "My name is Joden, and yours?"

Kagbur: "I be Kagbur, could I please see some of ye finest pickaxes?" *Smiles*

Merchant: "Sure I'll show you what I have in stock. We have some newly crafted iron pickaxes here made by some Orcs down the road, they produce some fine wares. Would you like to test it?" *Gesturing towards a rack of pickaxes*

Kagbur: "Yes thank you" *takes it in his hand* "Oh it's nice and heavy just the way I like it. How much for it?"

Merchant: *Strokes his scruffy beard* "Oh we have discounts for first timers, probably for you sir, 60 minas."

Kagbur: *A huge smile spreads across his face* "Oh yes that's very cheap! I'll take one iron pickaxe then thank you." *hands Joden 60 minas*

Merchant: "Thank you have a nice day, come again soon."

Kagbur: *Waves farewell to the man* "I will do thank you, I'll tell my friends as well."

*Smiling Kagbur walks away feeling very happy at such a cheap pickaxe, he goes home and tells some of his friends*.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Kagbur opens the chest and is surprised to see some very valuable items. He is unsure who owns the house and decides to leave it all alone. He trots away down the hill. Later that night he finds himself in a drinking contest at the local inn. He had lost a lot of money. Kagbur was very drunk and had been telling someone about the house he had seen on the hill.

*Two weeks later

Kagbur was working down in the mines when news came from atop. Some raiders were attacking the village, all the men down the mines were called to arms. As they geared up Kagbur noticed someone was missing. The man he had had the drinking contest with two weeks ago. Kagbur started to think where he might be. He shrugged the thought off and turned to climb out of the hole he was in. He squinted through the sun's rays to see houses being pillaged and people screaming and running everywhere. The Dwarves fought for their town eventually driving the attackers off. Kagbur had just seen the man he was drinking with run out of town. Kagbur chased after him. Running was somewhat hard for Kagbur as he had short stumpy legs. He notices that the man started climbing the hill towards the house he had seen the other week. As Kagbur drew closer he slowed down and hid behind a bush.

The man began to open the chest and as he did Kagbur jumped out and shouted, “What are you doing?”

The man turned slowly and whispered, “Killing you .... my dear.”

The man grabbed something from the chest and the next thing Kagbur saw was a shining blade coming towards him. He managed to block it with his pickaxe. Kagbur was no fighter and knew he could not defeat this man. He turned and ran away.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Kagbur asks for some food and offers the little amount of money he can. They hand him some mouldy and stale bread from a barrel. They don't look happy with him. He then asks around for some maps, he is offered one leading to the temple. He thanks the person and takes it with a smiling face. Kagbur then begins his long journey back to the temple. He eats little bits of the disgusting bread along his way.

The guard's initiate a fight with the bandits and more and more of them seem to come from nowhere. The guards would bring Kagbur their weapons when they were nearly broken. He would get to work on fixing them instantly. The guards eventually fight back the bandits and claim the road back. The guards thank Kagbur and offer him a reward, he declines the reward and returns a friendly smile. He packs up his tent and leaves.
