The Plague Claims Another Life

Accepting the bread having been asked for by a passerby, Aethasis, a wood elf, unknowingly consumed diseased food. As the symptoms slowly followed, he began to ask others if he was looking alright. Others offered no response besides a "Keep away you!" He checked his reflection in the waters at Cloud Temple and his suspicions were confirmed. Green spots were beginning to over take him and his coughing grew worse. Uneasy he sought out help from first the monks but they offered no support nor any comfort only cries of dismay and imminent doom.

In fear he ran to the civilians for help of any kind. Between pleas and denials, he coughed up masses of blood and vomited profusely. Becoming weak he plead for even help to a bed. Others fled or ignored him. There was no hope for the plagued scum and there was no use for anybody to help because the risk of contamination was so high. People urged him to jump into the pit of fire and join the dead, to put himself down but he tried to hold on. Eventually death reached it's cold tireless fingers to him and overtook him. He died in pain and alone. We are born through pain, we live in pain, and most of us, especially the plague victims, die in pain.
