On Government

This has been posted in several places in the all major cities and in at least one place in the majority of towns

Control is the basis upon which a government functions. Every nation needs control every nation needs government. Asulon runs off these such governments. Monarchies, tyrannic and just. Aristocracies with or without monarchs. Councils, and Dictatorships. All of these have risen and fell in Asulon and some still stand. However none truly succeed. Why ? Because the belief of those is power is that it is their duty to not only maintain power but acquire as much of it as they can. This is the wrong purpose of government. But even if it was their methods, are completely wrong as well. Oppression builds resentment and loathing not love. If one forces others to bend to their will, they destroy the very reason they are in power. Leaders only remain in power as long as those under them will follow. Without followers they lead nothing. So the power, contrary to what many people believe does not reside with the leader but yet with the people. So it is the power of the people not of the king to run the nation. Thereby due to the fact that the people hold the power, it is the duty of the government to protect the people, and there in their power. Protect them from what, you might ask. Protect them from the government, and from the other nations if need be and from themselves. There are three principal goals of government. First, to protect the people from the abuse of power and exploitation of their own government. Taxes will not soar out of control Laws will be enforced upon every citizen especially the leader. No exceptions in law will be made based on rank or wealth. Second, to protect them from other nations, this is not all it appears. A strong military is only so effective at maintaining this goal. Alliances must be forged for both economic means and defense. Third, to protect them from one another, guards will be present not only upholding the law but also resolving conflict in an unbiased manner. Such laws should not be so restrictive as to oppress them nor should they be so loose that they lack purpose. If these three should be upheld a nation will struggle to fail. However, not leader wishes to relinquish his rule. So in some cases it is the duty of the citizens to one another to remove such parasitic and tyrannical governments, as soon as they are able.

The peasantry in Oren, look at the paper as its hang and start to jeer and sneer at that man ''How dare you!'', they scream at him ''Kings are chosen by God!'' ''They rule us by divine right!'', ''We have seen your ways they only lead to greed! and corruption!''..

*They start to throw rocks at the man as he flees for his life, as they tear down the papers, and destroy them.

((What i meant by this is that one cannot trace who wrote the first document because almost no one knows who wrote it first. If you have a better way it should be written I would be appreciative as I know that it could use some work. ))
