VILLAGE CHARTER

MC Name: MatthewTW93

RP Name: Elrohir Sil’Siol

Village Name: Elarinya

Why is your character starting this village/settlement? What is its purpose?

Elrohir walked across the bridge, on his way home, the rain heavy on his clothing, his head bowed and eyes half closed, as he thought, long and hard, about the future. He looked up as he entered the city in which he lived and began to wonder the streets. He gazed though the lord’s broken window, remembering the blood that was spilt there. “Is this where I want us to live...” He thought to himself as he remembered the conversation with his fiancée. At the time he thought it would be a good place to live among friends, but, due to many recent events, he feared for her to even come close to it. Bandits roamed the streets, corrupted guards caring nothing for the lives of other, is all Elrohir could see. He watched as it changed people. It changed them for the worst. He saw people he knew and trusted, take lives as if it was a game.

Elrohir still thought highly the city at heart, for what had done for him, giving him a home and friends, when he had nothing. But it was not safe. He wanted to get out, to live safely with his family; for them to live without fear of wars and raids. But he was not alone, others in the city and other places in Asulon wanted safety as he did. He decided that it was only fair for them to get it the same; Elrohir already thought that life had treating him with what many die without, that he had it better than most and he had to give more back.

He decided to create a village, a safe haven, away from the troubles of the world and the many threats it posed, believing his experience as a his ranked guard would help him succeed where others have failed. Everyone in the village would be treated well, equal and fairly. People would be invited there, if they are trust worthy. The village would be simple at first, farming to be its main trade, creating large fields for both crops and animals, though not its purpose, it will provide the sufficient funds to keep the village safe and economically afloat.

What type of political system or leadership is within the village?

Firstly, the lord and/or lady, the owner(s) of the land, as it is there land they make the rules.

Secondly, the advisor, a friend and trusted by the lord/lady, to help them with decisions and take some responsibility upon himself.

Thirdly, the knights, of which there can be two, these are men that are trusted by the lord/lady above all else, they keep the law and defend the villagers.

The villagers them selfs are loyal to the village and would fight for it if needed and help to keep to the laws.

What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.)

Elrohir is developing biasness towards elven blood, this is because of his falling out with many blood humans, at the moment this is more of a trust issue then a prejudice, the effect on the town would be minimal at this stage.

Though the village’s purpose is to get away and live alone, safely; many of the residents have friends in the world outside, Skravia for one. Trade routes to it will open with time and aid will always be given to them if they ask.

People will keep to the laws or be sent out from the village, as a final step. There are no guards so to speak of, only the knights and the citizens, though a knight or load is needed for sentencing.

Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map).

Firstly, this is a picture showing Skravia, top left and Elarinya, on the right, about half way down.

This one shows Elarinya in green and a bunch of abandoned buildings that we plan on 'fixing' in the not too distant future. ( With the necissary Warclaims and GM approval. )

Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc):

As you can see from the pictures above, the architecture is simple wooden structures, single story and very spread out, making them more durable for the materials used to make them and due to the surrounding forests, wood is easily obtained.

The villagers are not forced into worship, they are allowed that choice freely, however Iblees worship is forbidden, for the many dangerous it brings.

As of Elrohir’s biasness towards his own race, people of elven blood are more welcome in the village; however other dwarves and men will be welcome, if they are accepted by the community.

(( There has actually been quite a lot of RP in Elarinya, that can further the lore; But as yet, it is not relevant to the starting of the town, so would not be suitable, however it will be added to any subsequent charters.

And thanks for signing. :) ))

(( Edited slightly, buildings shown in the last image are not very RP at all, that is the reason we want rid of them, they are also abandoned and look ugly.

Oh and thanks for the offer, I guess, but that would defeat the purpose of the village. ))

((So that's what that village was, in Skravia we thought it was another ghost-town so we were going to incorporate it in a "clean-up" with the "villages." XD Hopefully next time we send a scouting group there he/she will discover Elarinya. Or unless you told Henry or someone else about Elarinya and that technically we are "allies", well then we would then have reasoning to exclude you from the WC. :D))

(( Jake, Vail, Barry and unfortunately Daedric know about it. :P

I say 'unfortunately' because we actually had him burn it down, creating some good RP for both parties involved ))
