The afternoon was setting and Rogen Thickfeet was just finishing his weekly harvest of Vale Wheat in the fields. He turned to see a small group of strangers approaching the endless golden fields. He anxiously leaned his old tools against a fence post and approached the group.

They had introduced themselves and it became apparent that they were all of friendly persuasion.

Shimmer Goldwheat, a halfling girl nearing her adult years.

Sweatpea, a very young and full of energy halfling girl.

John Elmore, a human boy who had seemed toughened by a rough street life.

And Paladin Fengric, a stalwart warrior of good.

Here stood the strangest collection of Asulonians that Rogen had ever seen.

After exchanging pleasantries the five headed into the Vale Inn. Sharing stories, songs, and food, Rogen was able to find out that all three children desperately needed homes and help. Rogen set them up in the inn with warm beds and all the food they needed until the Elders could arrive and decide the children's fate. Paladin Fengric pledged to raise the boy John if it was deemed he could not stay at the Vale. Rogen worried but his fatherly instincts took over and he was intent on looking after them all until a consensus was made.
