A Request From The King

Kernith staggers back to the library, bleeding and exhausted, the poison still in his veins. He immediately grabs a piece of parchment and a quill, writing a notice. I sure hope others are more prepared than I was... he thinks. He finds some old bread in his desk, eats it, and can feel his strength return somewhat. When the notice is complete he posts it in the main square of Arethor.

A Request From the King!

People of the Holy Oren Empire, a great tragedy has struck our nation. Underneath the city of Arethor there exists a large cavern system. Recently, two Knights exploring the caverns were slain by the many monsters that inhabit them. The King asks of any willing adventurers to enter the caves and retrieve the bodies. But beware! It is not a task for the faint of heart. The caverns are dark and tight, and the monsters are many. You shall enter at your own risk. For the safe retrieval of the bodies of the two Knights the King is offering a reward of two thousand gold coins. To find the entrance of the caves, head south from the entrance to Arethor. Go between the wooden bridge and the high walls.

Two crude sketches show the entrance to the caverns.

Rhazev walks into the trees near Arethor with two bodies over his shoulders. The one on his left is drenched with water, the one to the right, the other bloodied and bruised. He lays the two next to each other on the ground, closes their eyes, and places their hands upon their chests. As a crowd forms around him and the bodies, Rhazev looks around to see children holding onto their mothers, and the mothers crying. Even some men, who has obviously served with the two, had tears in their eyes. As a Lance barges through the crowd Rhazev motions for him to come to him. Once the Lance is before him, Rhazev informs him to fetch the Royal Scribe, or The Emperor himself.

[[He's the first to claim it. So, deal with it,]]

Unfortunately true. Its much like if you're in Vegas, win the jackpot, go to get the manager and someone else sits in your seat and claims it. sort of happens, unfortunate as it is. :/ []
