What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

To me, roleplaying is creating another world or dimension and another personality. You can be whoever you want to be, you can do things like magic that aren’t exactly realistic in life. It is a chance to relive childhood to me. As a kid I loved to roleplay as a doctor, or a magician because I felt that I could be someone else. When I roleplay now, I tell the other people that I’m roleplaying with that I am going to do something like “I’m going to be hiding in your cellar as a vampire, and you are going to all be sleeping in your rooms. I will sneak out of the cellar when it is midnight and I will bite *name* and *name* and you will feel dizzy when it turns morning. I will have disappeared to the cellar before you wake up.” That way the other people know what will happen when we basically “put on our character masks” and become someone else. They will know what they respond with, and they know what I will be doing.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming to me is something that ruins Roleplaying. If you Meta-Game, you use knowledge that you know or somebody else knows that your character would not know at all. It would be like “ *character makes an electrical sewing machine* “ if you were in medieval times. The only case somebody in medieval times (roleplaying) would know how to make a sewing machine would be if someone out of character knew about it. It would also be like if you know what is in a hidden chest in a basement, but your character didn’t know and you decided to say as your character “I think there’s a hidden chest in that basement that has loads of diamond tools in it.” Things like this ruin roleplaying to me..

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Yet again, Power-Emoting to me ruins Roleplaying. Power-Emoting is forcing an action without anyone else knowing, or doing something unrealistic. Something like “*slaughters all the monsters within the area with a single swing*” would be something unrealistic because there would be a good chance of you getting injured (your character, w/e) or killed within an area full of monsters. Also, if you were to say something like “*kills Jeremy with a dagger*” would be forcing an action onto someone else, because the likeliness would be that Jeremy would actually retaliate rather than just let you kill him. If you were to say something like “*lunges at Jeremy with a poised dagger straight for his heart*” that would not be considered power-emoting because Jeremy still has a chance to retaliate with maybe “*Jeremy dodges the dagger and rolls under a table while unsheathing his sword*” which is much more realistic.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to be good, because the whitelisting requires a lot of creativity and understanding to apply.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I pretty much left an “MMORPG” minecraft server because it wasn’t really an MMORPG…

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

History and Life-

Rin was born in the main city of Asulon to the High Elf family of the Ryuu’s. Her family was quite small, just her mother and father, and her two younger brothers. Her father studied at the Haelun’or College and majored in magic, while her mother enjoyed creating little trinkets such as necklaces and other baubles. Her father’s side of the family had always told their sons and daughters at the age of 9 that magic existed. Rin, being the oldest, was the first to be taught that magic existed. Being 9, she had little understanding of what she was being told. She has always had a short attention span, making it hard to concentrate sometimes. She wants to follow in her father’s footsteps. She has just recently turned 15, and anxiously awaits the years to come in which she can learn magic.

Looks and Personality-

Just like any other High Elf, Rin is very tall and slender. Her skin is a light hue with a golden tint, her ears long and pointed. Rin’s hair is thin and platinum, like any of the finest silvers in Asulon. She sports her mother’s very own set of golden clip-on earrings on her pointy elf ears. Her light and thin gown is a deep purple, lined with golden ribbon. Her light weight dress makes it easy for her to climb up into the tallest of the trees, and easier for her to run and fight in combat. Rin’s thin-soled blue shoes that she hand-tailored allow her to run through the forests and open lands swiftly and quietly, without making any sounds that would disturb the surrounding natures of Asulon. Her light purple eyes tell everyone that she is young, and that she has much wisdom to learn in her lifetime. Rin is a very impatient elf, but she knows that waiting is always best. She is a very exciting and adventurous soul, and she loves the forests. Rin would rather be outdoors than be tucked inside a house all day. She has never really had a way with words, but her looks are charming to all. Her warming smile is welcoming to all, giving the elder elves a reminder of when they were younger. Rin has a tendency to act on impulse, which sometimes results in her getting hurt. Rin is a very quiet individual, afraid of saying something wrong. She doesn’t like to see her family or any of her friends get hurt, which makes her a very protective individual. She would give up her life to protect her family if she had to.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

Rin one day wants to be just like her father. She has always followed in his footsteps, from magic skills to training in combat. She loves spending time with her dad, and one day she hopes her children will do the same. She wants to teach her oldest children the wonders of the magical world, since her father’s side of the family always did. Rin would love this type of life, but if she ends up a single elf in her life, she would like to become a teacher at the Haelun’or College in the studies of magic. Either way, Rin will be happy with whatever her life comes to, as long as she can learn more about becoming a mage.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Rin has grown to love archery, so she loves the bow. Rin always remembers when her great grandfather would take her out into the wilderness and they would go hunting. Rin always felt so good about herself when she shot down a bird from the sky, or when she shot a rabbit on the run.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Rin is very skilled with a bow. She picked up the techniques early in life and has been using them ever since.

Rin has been known to be very sensitive to a few topics in conversation, and tends to back away from them if they are brought up. (She doesn't like to tell people what they are..)

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Rin stands away from them, being extremely cautious. She wonders to herself, “Why would they want money from him? He can’t do anything. Besides, they’re well-armed! What could they possibly need from a helpless Halfling? Perhaps they just need a way to get by in these times..” Rin walks up to the warriors and offers them some food and some money. The whole time she is slightly nervous, but she keeps calm. “You two look like you’re scraping by. Do you need food? Money? I have some extra. Here.” She leaves them the food and the money, and runs off into the brush and watches to see if they leave the Halfling alone.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Rin says, “Hello sir! I was not looking for anything in particular, but you look like you could use some sales. Do you have any lightweight necklaces of sorts? Maybe you have a thin silver one?” Rin thinks to herself that a lightweight necklace would be a nice addition to her look, but it would not get in the way of her tasks.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Rin cautiously approaches the hut. She checks the inside and sees a chest. Opening it, she finds some iron bars and a golden sword. “These might belong to someone,” she says to herself. She closes the chest and checks the rest of the hut. She wanders outside the perimeters and finds nothing. She goes back in the hut, sits down, and waits to see if anyone comes back to the hut.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

“Hello,” the fellows of the trading camp say to Rin. “Hi, I am Rin Ryuu, a High Elf. How are you today?” Rin states with a warm tone. She has been lost for days, and is beginning to get hungry. She looks around at the trading camp, and remembers that she has some tradable supplies. “Can I trade you fellows some pelts for some food? I’ve been in the wilderness for a few days and managed to save these pelts.” On her way out, she remembers to ask for directions. “Oh yes! Sorry, but do you know where the nearest civilized city is? I’m kind of lost.”

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

“There is a group of bandits outside of town. We are recruiting any and all who can help. We are offering a reward to all who give us their support,” the guards say. Rin hears the guards say this, and she eagerly runs up to the guards. Confidently, she says, “I will help! I am good with a bow. I am more than willing to pitch in. Do we have a plan set up for this? I would like in on the details, please. I am better at attacking from a distance, if that is not a problem.” She is eager to help, as she finds it her duty to protect her family and friends.
