Piercing crimson orbs shine from soft, slate-grey skin such as rubies would shine from the surface of a dark stone. Framing this are long brilliant red locks that tumble over the female mori's shoulders in a neat fashion. Some of the locks are cuffed by light golden bands that glitter with power and prestige. Her clothing is little, a thin piece of cloth that covered the width of her bosom woven from mushroom fibers with a soft silken lining, paired with a short wrap that reaches down to her upper thighs. From her wrists and long, knife-bladed ears hang earrings and bracelets of gold and redstone while her stone cold face held the expression of supreme authority, whether she was granted such or not could not be discerned from her features.

Personality:

An'yui's personality is as venomous as the Spider Queen she worships. Charming and a pure delight to be around, An'yui will offer compliments and smiles to those of a higher rank than her own. She is openly friendly when approached, not hesitating to show off her wealth or talk of her achievements to those who will listen. Behind closed doors, however, she quietly plots to herself how to manipulate those around her to achieve a higher status. A friendly chat with Illun'arr may reveal why Nemiisae speaks to the Seeress rather than someone far more worthy such as herself. With a flattering smile laced with poison, she seeks to achieve Ul'Athtallar through constant worship to her Goddess and an even more constant battle of wits.

Biography:

At birth, An'yui was said to be a blessed birth by Nemiisae being the eleventh child of Matron Mother Lor'nafel of House Seke. The Matron Mother, said to be barren after her tenth, had given birth to nine daughters total when An'yui was conceived. In thanks for the Spider Queen's blessing, she gave her ninth daughter back to the Goddess in service, beginning her training with the clergy at a young age. It was then An'yui became a Yanre, devoting night and day to her studies at the church but it soon became apparent that this was not enough.

The young Mori learned that her life was a competition, and only the strong would become faithful followers of Nemiisae in the priesthood. One of these was Imina, one of the Mori girls who spoke of visions being sent to her from the Spider Mother herself. The Priestess' seemed to favor her, allowing her leniency where others would be beaten and privileges where others had none. An'yui couldn't bear to be out shown and it angered her that the visions were most likely lies conjured to surpass the other children.

She quickly devised a plan, sneaking out of the chapel late one night to creep through one the smaller tunnels under the bridge. The tunnel was dank and slippery, causing An'yui to lose her footing several times and bust open her knee. Eventually her large crimson eyes settled on some acidic fungus that grew amongst the mold. She had remembered reading about it in one of her Flora and Herbs books and quickly snatched it up.

Imina kept a glass of water next to her bed at night, being to young and inexperienced to be cautious of an attack. An'yui wasn't quite sure what the fungus would do, but her hope was that it would make her rival very sick. Tip-toeing into the young Mori's room, she rubbed her hands against the soft fans of the mushroom over the sparkling glass. Soft yellow dust drifted down until a thick layer had formed which An'yui stirred eagerly before quickly leaving.

The next day they were informed that Imina had seizures during the night and had lost her ability to function half of her body, including her jaw. Seeing the girl as no further use to them, she was returned to her House where her fate was unknown. So started An'yui's path in the Priesthood where she quickly gained the status of Yathrin and setting her eyes on Ul'Athtallar.

Your characters ambitions:

To gain status and prestige while worshiping the Goddess, Nemiisae - One day rising to Ul'Athtallar.

Why does your character do what he/she does?

Reward. Her misdeeds and competitive side have only been awarded with no consequences thus far. She sees herself as invincible while she is only arrogant and cocky. She seeks status, prestige and wealth in Mori society which drives her to compete with others of similar goals.

What moral boundaries does your character adhere to, if any?

An'yui will not harm or kill children and spiders.

What are some notable strengths and weaknesses of your character?

An'yui's brilliant mind is her most notable strength. Where physical muscle is lacking, her wit is not. However, this also leads to one of her greatest weaknesses. Her intelligence leads her to be extremely arrogant and prideful. She may take on challenges that are to great for her or hold higher expectations than are rational due to her pride and belief that she can accomplish anything due to her intellect.

What role will your character play in Asulon?

A loyal and faithful follower to Namiisae as a Yathrin in the Caverns of Menorcress.

Is your character loyal or a backstabber?

She is loyal to only her Goddess, any others she has no qualms in betraying if it suits her purpose.

Are you familiar with all server/villain application rules?

Yes

Evils to be considered for?

1 and 2a

Why do you as a player wish to and think you deserve to play as a villain?

While my character is not going to go around breaking into chests and dropping random citizens with poisoned daggers... I can see some situations arising due to her personality and competitive side that would cause her to want to do harm on another player either physically or not. Mori society is ruthless which means sometimes you have to break into a few chests to get what you need to gain status. For Example: Taking someone as your mate in Mori society involves stealing an item precious to them and presenting it to them.

Despite not having an evil bone in my RL body, I believe playing a slightly villainous character would be both enjoyable to me and those involved in the roleplay. I'm not the cut and dry type who would come up and randomly stab you in the back if I didn't like you; but rather formulate a plot where by little actions of my part, I would bring you down in the eyes of society and allow them to do the punishing for me.

===Roleplay Related Questions===

As your character wanders the back-streets of Menorcress, you sight a cloaked figure lurking in one of the shadowed nook behind the Brothel: a rustle of cloth is heard, and the figure ushers you in with a skeletal finger. The hooded figure imparts information involving a conspiracy to over-throw the House of Miiystra, and offers you a hefty sum of coin to partake in the planned attack. How does your character react?

Bright crimson eyes glanced around before the young Mori took a tentative step in the hooded man's direction. She had to admit that she was intrigued by the thought and the sum of gold he had mentioned. Moving towards the brothel, she leaned up against the corner in a position where she was out of line of fire should he choose to attack whilst her back was protected by the solid stone against her. She could still hear his heavy breathing clear as if he were standing next to her, so she knew that this would not hinder their conversation despite the space between them.

She reached up to twist bloody red strands of hair around her slender fingers before sliding a sharp silver hairpin from where it had once held a small bun. Pressing it discreetly against her wrist, she made sure to keep this small detail out of sight while she asked. "So tell me, stranger... What exactly are your plans?" Depending on his answer, she would decide whether or not to trust the hooded man.

Your character finds him/herself watching the Alure d'aphyon: the several fighters within the void maze wield only sticks as they prove their prowess as warriors by battling to the death. One of fighters happens to be a close companion of yours, and you witness him being strategically cornered by three of the other fighters and beaten to death. While the crowd cheers in celebration of the violence, and the death of your friend. How does your character react?

Soft red orbs took in the sight of Ju'ilk's mangled body being blackened and bruised by the hard wood that came crashing down against him from all sides. The sound of cheering rang in her knife shaped ears as she struggled to make sense of the emotion that welled up in her chest. It was slightly painful so she quickly pushed it down as it was certainly an emotion of weakness. 'How embarrassing...' She reasoned with herself before anymore troubling emotions could arise. 'I will have to choose stronger companions in the future.'

As you turn the corner into a dimly lit alley, a pair of young female rothe (slave/cattle) instantly run up to you. They are begging for a donation of either coin or bread. How does your character react?

Disgusted by the slum that rushed up to her, An'yui reached back before letting her hand collide with the nearest rothe's cheek. She flinched as the woman's sharp cheek bone bruised her soft skin and stomped off in anger, cursing them loudly. She wanted them to know that their time was short as she planned on making an example of them later during tonight's event. They could always use a few more sacrifices.

A male and female rivvil [human] and a rivvil child seem lost amidst the alley-ways of byr'shuk [outsider-market]. The woman walks with a long staff, and the man appears to have a scabbard at his side. How does your character react?

At the sight of the intruders, An'yui quickly darted off to find the nearest guards as she was not strong enough to confront them herself. Besides, one of her status should not have to run around like a common militia chasing off the scum that found their way into their sacred city. If she had not been the only one to see them, she wouldn't have even taken it upon herself to interrupt her busy schedule to call for aid.

Two guards try to break up a fight between your acquaintance and two members of another qu'ellar [house]. Your 'friend' slays one of the guards as he approaches, causing the others to draw their arms. How does your character react?

An'yui backs away immediately, only having a small spat with two members of that despicable house Fel'kar but not enough of one that was worth losing her life over. She turns quickly before fleeing from the scene towards Byr'shuk. It would only hurt her reputation if she was spotted with a dead guard at her feet.

Additional Notes:

I'm not dead set on being a priestess and will happily change my role (And biography) to a slave or commoner to fit the cities needs. (I was reading a thread on the discussion forums about this)

I believe there could be more Mori. Alot more. Right now we have a good solid base of about a dozen Mori. Unfortunately they are spread across EDT, PDT, GMT and AEST time zones. To have a greater presence and for the society to function as it was originally intended we'd need at least enough to fill at least three major houses with additional slaves, commoners, and unhoused nobility (Arch Priestess, Warlord, Head Wizard, and their councils, helpers, ect, though these could be in major houses too).
