Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: WeMick22

How old are you?: Fourteen

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT: 00

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I definitely do.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: My name is Jordan, I am a boy that lives in scotland. I have blonde hair and I attend a catholic school. I enjoy playing football as a pastime.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Most days for a good few hours, school being a restrictment.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is the art of acting out scenes and scenarios from your character’s point of view. It’s like pretending when you were a kid but a more mature version of this.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I’ve been roleplaying for a year now and have learned a lot about it from previous servers and games.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is when you use out of character information in character for example you are being attacked by a bandit so you tell your friend where you are over skype and they rush to your rescue. This is metagaming because their character doesn’t actually know where you are and wouldn’t be able to find you. Another example is if someone sees your name in the chat and runs up to you and adresses you by that name, this is also metagaming because you haven’t actually asked them their name yet.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-emoting or powergaming is when you force actions upon another unfairly, not giving them time to react. It’s unfair for others and is bad roleplaying. An example of PGing would be. Jack jumps on the man, knocking him out. Whereas a better action would be... Jack throws his body weight at the man, attempting to tackle him onto the floor and hold him down.

In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: Out of character is from you (As a person) perspective, speaking from Jordan’s (perspective) rather than my character’s. An OOC sentence might be ((BRB guys going to the toilt))

In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: In Character is your characters perspective, an IC sentence would be like this. “ ‘Ey mate, ‘ow much ye’ sellin’ that bread for, eh?”

What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I’ve heard it is amazing so I’m looking for just that. An enviroment filled with nice people and good roleplayers.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I’ve not played any other minecraft RP servers but I have RPed a lot on other games. My old server was a survival server called Noobscraft and so I got bored.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have read them, understand them and have agreed to them.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I definitely do.

How did you hear about us?: From my friend, Geoboy66 he says he plays a character called The Perfectionist

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No I have not, this is my first.

In-Character:

Character Name: Natus_Haradine

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): N/A

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

The Twenty-Eight year old Natus walked through the forest, ducking under the overgrown branches and picking small bits of leaves from his long black hair. As he entered a small clearing his eyes were drawn to a rather odd man, perched on a small rocking chair on his neat little island in the middle of the lake, smoking his pipe rather freely. His facial features were hard to make out under that large straw hat of his but his long grey beard was unmissable. Natus fell to his knees, one hand in the water in attempts to feel for the bottom, and to his expectation it was rather shallow. The shallow pond was graced with two large leather boots as he stepped in, wading further and further in until his feet did not touch the ground, swimming towards the small island embankment as his curiosity got the better of him. Upon climbing onto the fishing pier he took off his boots, emptying what he could out of them along with the shakedown of his clothing to attempt to dry it as much as he could.

The man took his pipe out of his mouth, squinting one dainty little eye at Natus, Natus became a little uncomfortable and they stood for an awkward time before the old man finally said. “Yee hee hee hee! Whaddar we gawt ‘ere, eh!?”

Natus’ quivering lip spoke for him, muttering softly. “My name’s Natus... sir.” He looked at the man as he removed his hat, exposing a very bald scalp. The man looked sort of normal... and that’s probably why Natus followed him into his shack... a disgusting shack it was too; the roof leaked with drips of water onto Natus pointy nose. The old man’s twisted old puns never occured sensible at first, until he made one little remark that put Natus on edge. “Yoo hoo hoo hoo, it be nice havin’ ye for dinner t’is fine... evenin’ boy.” His bucktooth grin was unsettling, a shiver would run down Natus’ spine.

The man ran at Natus’ a small hammer in his hand, with a clout to the thigh he sent Natus’ tumbling onto his backside, groggy and nauseous. The man grabbed his leg, exposing serated fangs and carving viciously into the pale flesh. Natus’ cry of pain caught him off guard, his hand raises to his ears as he growled. Natus’ scrambled to his feet, backing against the open doorframe as he glared at the cannibal in disgust and utter horror. Stumbling back he turned with a haste, his small legs carried him hurridly along the pier, leaping into the deep waters of the lake.

What are your Character's ambitions?: He seeks to find residence in a nice city, join a house and make some money so he can purchase property. He wants to be a soldier and strives to do his best with making first impressions.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): His small cutlass that rests on his beltline is his favourite tool, it’s kept him safe up until now.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? His silver tongue, fluent disposition to talk his way out of most situations.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Natus takes one step forward, braving an encounter with the men; a lump slithers down his throat as he gains a second wind and a different decision brisks his mind. Turning for the temple he makes haste, running as fast as his legs could carry him. He stops, looking around in panic until he finally spots a monk. “You there, monk! Someone’s in trouble in the centre of the temple; please can you make peace?” Upon guiding the monk to the situation he cowardly stands back in watch as the monk deals with them; smirking as they leave in discontent.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Natus approaches the stall, a hand placed firmly on the wooden counter of the stall. His eyes drawn to the red and white checked cloth. He looks into the merchants eyes, secretly judging him for levels of disloyalty. Natus’ finds him a clean enough character and continues to speak. “Ye’ can get me some o’ yer steak; if it still warm.” He licks his lips as he glares at the tray of succulent cuts of meat, the merchant picking up a few slabs of it. He waves his hand in front of Natus’ face. “Ello lad, ye there? Twenty two minas.” Natus’ nods, handing over the coin.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Natus’ eyes light up as he discoves the object, clearly amazed by the sheer convienience. His eyes fade as he comes under the influence of a second thought, pondering if the house is supposed to look abandoned on purpose; does it have an owner? His cautious side takes over, slowly backing from the hut and looking around frantically; making sure he wasn’t seen.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Natus’ smiles upon seeing the inhabitants of the camp. “Ah, so good to see another friendly face... please, can ye’ spare some food?” Natus’ looks around at the several tent, his heart beating in fear of misconception, having a bad gut feeling about something. Natus’ looks back to the man whom he asked the question to, tapping his foot as he patiently awaits response.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Natus’ steps forward, his ears peaking at these words. His face gleams with a big beaming grin, eager to join the fight. Brandishing a small cutlass he shouts “I will join ye!” Stepping further into the group of armed guardsmen. His heart filling with joy, his spine with cold and his face with fear as he tries to act brave. He drops the cutlass, looking down as it clanks off of the ground, he slips from the group unnoticed; going AWOL from the operation even though he was never really enlisted.

Anything else you would like to say?:

Natus’ is overly cautious and tries not to let anything trick him.
