Animal Petition

Hello Fellow Halflings!

I have put this little note up to ask you all to take part in a petition. This said petition revolves around starting an animal farm right here in the vale. I feel we have been importing meats and hunting the wilds for too long! With this new setup using barns and pens we can control the animals and have an almost constant supply of meats and not to mention cheese butter and milk! A few downsides to this new setup are one, that we would have to use a large portion of our wheat and seeds to feed these animals. As a counter to this we will be getting meat to make up for the lost bread and other pastrys. If that's not enough we will also be getting manure to help our crops grow even faster and more plentiful. We will also have to assign someone to feed, clean pens and protect the animals from wolves and other nasty creatures from the near by dark forests. If you agree with me with this idea for a increased supply of meats cheeses and milk, then please vote on the blank bit down below. Simply say Yay or Nay if it's the later please leave a small note as well explaining why you disagree. So fellow haflings! Join me in bringing pigs, sheep, goats, chickens and cows to the vale!

Hm, I ain't too sure 'bout coopin' up all the lovely wee animals in stuffy wee pens, I say we let 'em roam freely, jus' like us, they dun deserve ta be cooped up all their lives, they deserve better! After all, they will be supplyin' us with some delectable grub...

Looks over at the two near the sign and listens in on their conversation. After a while he pipes up behind them

I would have no trouble with letting them roam free but, This would mean we wouldn't be able to protect them from wild predators and wouldn't be able to feed and control them as easily.

I 'ave been 'way fer a bit, but I would very much like te 'elp with the farm beasts o' The Vale. I'm sure we could set up some sort o' enclosure that is plenty large fer the animals to be able to wander 'bout as they please. And per'aps we could build a barn for the care o' their young'uns an' for when we, as unfortunate as it may be, 'ave to slaughter some so we can 'ave nice tasty steaks fer dinner.

But most importantly, cakes would be much easier te make!

*Comes back to check the note after a few days. Sees the positive replies and writes one of his own.

Since I've seen so many positive comments agreeing with the idea and now that we have some haflings volunteering for the job I see no reason why I shouldn't talk to the elders about this when I see them. Thank you all for your support!
