Dalek348 1962 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Faldo sits in the Drunken Sheep Inn, the evening sun casting long shadows across the rippling, crystal waters of the Tookwater. He takes a puff on his pipe, savouring the pleasant moment. Once finished blowing circles of smoke out of the door, he beckons the gaggle of Halflings inside the Inn, and thrusts a flagon of Applespice Mead into each of their grubby hands. Rising from his seat, he takes a position at the end of the table, the reassuring crackling of the warm fireplace the only sound in the room before he speaks up I ‘ave a wee game fer ye fellows an’ lasses to play. Well I were in my burrow thinkin’ o’ things ta do round the Vale an’ I decided we should ‘ave a good old treasure hunt, y’know, like they do in the stories. So I got writin’ some riddles an’ drawin’ maps an’ placing chests full of booty round the Vale! It’s yer task to find the chests o’ loot so ye can get the riddle an’ map fer the next one! I’ll need proof, mind, so draw a picture o’ the chest an’ what ye find in it to prove ye found it first. Faldo places a tattered old map on the table in the Inn, the Halflings gathering around it eagerly. Faldo then takes out his lute and begins to pluck a quaint melody with the strings, singing what appears to be a riddle, the first clue in the treasure hunt. I have four wings, but cannot fly, I never laugh and never cry; On the same spot I'm always found, toiling away with little sound. ((Rules are as follows: You must take a screenshot of the location of the chest and the contents you found to prove that you did indeed find the chest first.Do NOT go tearing up the land in search of chests hidden in the ground. Often they will not be in the ground and you will be ruining the Vale.Halfling residents to take part only.No foul play or general mischief.)) Dalek348 1962 Author Share Posted July 28, 2012 Faldo marvels at the swiftness at which Tibb found the loot. Grumbling about having to do another map and riddle quicker than he expected, he is in a bit of a tantrum. Aye, yer big nose sniffed 'em out good, Tibb. Now that shovel there is the very shovel I used to fend off them nasty Goblinsfolk! Knocked his 'ead clean off his shoulders I did, I think it fell in a nearby rabbit hole too! Below it he pins another note of parchment, with the riddle written upon it, Wear me in any kind of weather Shine the Sun on me and I'm gone forever Salt me and I disappear Yuk! Just keep me out of your beer Women love me and so do men especially at that time of year

Dalek348 1962 Author Share Posted July 29, 2012 Faldo reveals another map, this time the edges are charred and burned away, revealing only a fraction of the map. He strums an ominous tune on his lute as he softly places the map down, and sings the riddle of the third map, At the foot of a kneeling knight, At which roses lie, And candles guide our night. A sunken boat, A crushed dream, At this point do treasures gleam. ((Two pieces of treasure to be found here))
TheRoyalOnion(Aris) 101 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Arrives back in the vale huffing and puffing and carrying a little sheet of paper. On the paper is a list of all the things and a very poorly drawn picture that looks like a stick man in a dirty hole along with a chest and a crafting bench. On the list bellow the words: "The last bastion Stock up and sail out!" is a few lines of a detailed stock. List: 38 Loaves of bread 41 acorns (Oak saplings) 10 solid logs 1 Dandelion 54 wheat seeds 1 small pile of planks (1 plank) 1 glass pane 1 rusty wood hatch 4 brown clumps of wool And: The makings of 13 Little boats -Aris
