Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I play Minecraft on a daily basis, and try to download as many mods, texture packs and maps as my computer can handle. I live in Hampshire, in the UK, and my dream is to become an author- illustrator or singer-songwriter. I draw excessively and write on my computer whenever I'm not on Minecraft, and I play RPGs on my X-Box regularly, so when I discovered Lord of the Craft, I was sorted, because I was thinking about RPG servers such as this one to join!!

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I don't know, possibly everyday when I'm not doing homework or doing clubs, and most time at weekends.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Well, my favorite kind of game is RPG, and my dad has hundreds, so I'm never short of things to play on my X-Box or the PS3. Also, if I could, I would do the graphics for RPGs when I'm older, as I (and everyone who knows me or has seen my artwork,) says I'm absolutely outstanding! I love to role play IRL as-well, I love acting, and in my writing I act as if in a role playing game; with the mix of first and third person, past and present tense, the powerful emotions, hard decisions; if you want an RPG tale, come to me!

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I only play RPGs on my DS and X-box 360, as-well as on the PC, so I bet I know at least a bit about them, and had some experience with them. For instance, I can spend weeks gaining levels for the final boss, like what I did in Fable 3, getting ready for what happens to my epic Queendom... My dad told me, so I HAD to prepare drastically! I've been doing RPGs since I was about 4, so I've had seven years experience, and that's most of my life! :razz:

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Sortof where the player knows something that the in-game character doesn't know, so the in-game character makes that decision that their not supposed to know about... Like what happened to me in Fable 3...

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: I think it's where it's like 'player1 kills player2' or something, my dad told me one time, or kind emoting, like 'player1 hugs player2' like that. Or like, in battle, 'player1 tries to stab player2 with a sword' gives player2 time to dodge the attack, I think, in summary :blink:

In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: It's the actual player, (me for egsample) and if they've read a walkthrough, or watched a lets play, they actually know things that the IC doesn't, but does the unexpected, cheated way anyway. I think I just went into the next question. Ooops.

In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: It's the in-game character (for egsample, Hope The Hopeless)so as if you're the character in the actual game, not the player, who thinks as if in the game, not out of the game like an OOC (me) and knows not of any other world or a 'walkthrough'.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I think, according to some youtube videos I've watched amazing! I've also looked around Alusion as a Wandering Soul, and some of the structures I've seen are mind-blowing!!!

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Well, because of glitches, swearers, trolls, and greifers. The only other server I'm on now is Skitscape's one, with the Hunger Games.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yep, and I do understand them, clear as day.

How did you hear about us?: Well, I was browsing YouTube one day on July 1st this year, watching Herobine horror movies and Yogscast Shadow of Israphel, when I came across a series of Lord of the Craft videos. I was intrigued, so I watched a bunch of them, and I finally signed up! Sadly, the first time I sent my Whitelist application, it had an error and I decided to look at other servers. But I decided to come back, and after my first denial yesterday, I'm giving it another try!

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and her/his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Hope was a Wood Elf, a smart, surviving, and plainly amazing race. As a child, she was popular and top of the class. She had long ebony hair, and shining jade eyes, and had a habit of tormenting boys with her friends by shooting soft-tip arrows at their butts.

In teen-hood, Hope was more adventurous, and always carried around six stacks of arrows, and killed the mobs inhabiting the forest happily, gaining more experience every passing day. But one fateful night, when Hope was only fifteen, she was heading home to the grove in which her village was, but heard the burning of trees reaching closer, and closer. Terrified, she ran through the fire, bow in hand, but as she reached the village, devastation was in store for her.

Homes on fire, beings from the hell of Minecraft, the Nether, beasts from the End, and more everyday mobs than she could handle were killing everyone, and the screams of her friends and family were horrible. The bodies were everywhere, and blood coated everything.

The undead were murdering everyone, and they were summoning more monsters, and Hope was nearly killed herself, taking serious damage with her.

There was no other way out, she was surrounded by the evils sent by the evil Lord Herobrine, surely fate couldn't have chosen her. She desperately tried to ward them off her, but the aggravated pigmen were too much for her to kill off herself. Badly wounded, tired, and haunted, Hope finally escaped the destruction at the crack of dawn.

Wandering from town to town, she always found herself having endless nightmares and flashbacks of the day she was the lone survivor, just by chance. She was never accepted into the clans of Orcs, or Dwarves, or the weak Human, and seemed she couldn't find another village of Elves for the life of her.

She was terrified to venture into any dark forest anyway, after what had happened. If she had not gone out that night, she could have maybe warned the other elves to evacuate, and they all might have still been alive.

Months past, and Hope found herself, well, becoming hopeless, of ever avenging her family and friends. But one day, she wandered by a large city, and decided to have a look, as it seemed all races were there. She went in, and finally found herself accepted. She was healed, and found a home, at last, and with new found friends, she decided to finally avenge her loved ones. And that leads us to today.

What are your Character's ambitions?: To avenge the deaths of the friends and family.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Being able to shoot a mob from 140 meters, the arrow-length maximum.

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Hope gets out her bow immediately, loads up an arrow, and aims at one of the warrior's arm, and fires. She hits him; he gets knocked back with an enchantment, and as he's withering in pain, having lost half of his ten hearts due to the power enchant; and shoots the other one as-well, letting the small Halfling escape. The warriors run away, having been insulted to the max by being beaten by a girl

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"Erm... Hi. Er... can I have..." Hope stutters, she doesn't want to be rude, so she thinks of something to buy...

"Can I have some arrows?" Hope can never have enough arrows, she always has to be prepared.

So she buys a 64 stack of arrows, puts them into her inventory, and is on her way. She might actually need them arrows at hand some day. (:lol:)

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Hope doesn't bother with the sword; gold is weak and dosn't last enough hits to be in any way useful. She decides to take some of the iron (as Hope prefers not to mine, as she's an elf NOT a dwarf, there's a big difference.), yet leaves the rest in-case somebody actually lived there. Leaving the hut, she makes a sword, as it's all well to do snipes and distance attacks, but also needs some up close and uncomfortable combat. Also, she has enough for a pair of iron leggings, and she needs them for her defense.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Erm, I'm lost, and do you have anything to eat? Beef, mushroom stew, ANYTHING!!" Hope says, trying not to sound mad.

"Of course, and we can give you directions to the next civilization if you want, it's off the West of here. We leave to there tomorrow morning. You can stay 'till then." Says one of the traders.

Hope recovers her senses, and the next morning leaves to the player-built town, Sister City. She discovers that not long ago it was demolished when the undead took over the world, and the towns and cities had only just recovered from it.

From there she says her farewells to the travelers, and finds a map to get her way back to the Cloud Temple.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Hope steps forward, one for the reason that a reward in Minas, or a rare material is worth it, but also for the fact that she doesn't want another town to get destroyed by bad guys like her own. The battle began soon after, the bandits charging forward, but the town's forces were prepared. A group of archers at the town walls had their bows loaded, poised to attack, and down below they had iron swords. The bandits slowly all died, and the worst injury was seven hearts of damage, so nobody died. Well, except for the bandits.

Hope was awarded with 500 minas, and she thought that was a suitable prize for saving a village.

Anything else you would like to say?: I really hope you accept my application, as I've been desperate to join for ages! Your server is amazing, and I really want to join, and have my first proper PC role-playing game, on Minecraft!

As I'm writing, I'm listening to C418 Minecraft soundtrack, so I do think I based my character on myself, plus I'm utterly hopeless!! Not with Minecraft, though, LOL.

Keep in mind that LOTC is a roleplaying server and not an RPG. While similar there are some big differences.

Although you give quite a bit of info, you don't actually give a definition of Roleplaying. Please provide one.

Clarify on Power-Emoting definition. You've sort of got it, but it's unclear.

Remove the reference to Minecraft in the bio, as that is not something that would be stated in-game. Same with the reference to the End, since nothing is known of it in Asulon. There is no Lord Herobrine in Asulon.

In ORQ #1 please change the reference of 'half of his ten hearts' to something like 'a lot of blood'. Hearts are a Minecraft mechanic that would not be referenced while In-Character.

In ORQ #2 you state your character to buy 64 stacks of arrows and put them in her inventory. That many arrows cannot fit in an inventory, and In-Character the inventory would be referred to as a bag or satchel.

In ORQ #4 you reference the Sister City. This was in Aegis, and we are now in Asulon. Your character therefore cannot go there.

Really, a good application. Although it looks like I gave a lot to fix, most of them are pretty minor details that need only tweaking. I look forward to your next attempt.
