In-Character:

Character Name: Elisar

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): High Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Age: 145

Appearance: Elisar is 6'4'' tall with blue eyes that appear green in bright light. His skin tone is a pale grey and his silver hair is long and tied behind him as a ponytail. He typically wears a dark robe of high quality fabric and a green sash around his waist. He often wears a necklace of translucent stones with a violet tinge to them. Sometimes he is seen playing a lyre.

Elisar was born in the western section of Laurelin, the capital of Malinor. His mother, a medical scientist; and father, a traveling scholar; raised him with care and instilled in him the values of the Mali'aheral. In the years of his youth, Elisar found joy in learning all he could about the world of Aegis from his father and the collection of books he has amassed from his long journeys through several countries. When he was not reading he would be exploring the forests of Laurelin with his dog companion, Seru. Of course, he was careful enough to get back home before nightfall to avoid any trouble. His childhood passed quickly and before long he was an adult.

At the beginning of his adulthood, Elisar's mother and other Mali'aheral he met encouraged him to pursue scholarly achievements. At this time Elisar was an individual with few friends due to his arrogant and sometimes sarcastic nature. He was unsure of what to do with his future but what he did want was to be beneficial to his kin and the land they live in. He has read stories about the druids whom he had great respect for but had yet to even catch sight of one. He decided to ponder his purpose while helping his mother with her profession and studying herbalism with her.

One day, at age 30, Elisar decided to accompany his father and three of his elven colleges on one of their trips. The band of elves departed from Laurelin to find a number of rare items including a herb that could be sold for quite a lot of money. At first, Elisar's mother was against bringing him on such a dangerous quest would take years to return from due to the distance they must travel. His father argued that he has been on many trips like this and has always returned mostly unscathed. He also convinced her that Elisar can learn many things first hand that he couldn't in Laurelin.

During his travels, Elisar was given his own bow and dagger, and was trained in the art of combat. This was necessary in order for him to fend off hostile monsters and the occasional bandit. Elisar was terrified of these creatures, especially spiders. To lessen his fears, his father told him that as he gains wisdom he will have nothing to fear. He then gave Elisar an elven phrase to memorize, “kae maehr evar” or “knowledge protects me”. After that he began studying the monsters that would rob him of sleep at night. This was to know everything about them and develop methods he would use to fight them without being hurt. After 4 years the group finally returned to Laurelin.

In the end, the group could not find the valuable herb but did acquire other items worth enough that the trip was mostly successful. Elisar continues working with his mother and decided to study military strategy to help those who keep Laurelin safe. Over the decades that pass Elisar notices he is often deep in thought which makes him unaware of things going on around him. He also gets lost easily without specific directions. In time the threat of Iblees that has been lurking in Aegis became too much and threatened the world. Elisar greatly wished he could preserve the country he had lived in for so long but would have to leave it to start anew in a land called Asulon.

What are your Character's ambitions?: He wishes to gain a respectable position among elves as a scholar and to preserve the well being of his kin and nature.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A bow.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? His ability to rationalize and decide on the best method of action.

Other Information about your Character: Elisar is fond of animals like sheep and cats. He is a less than average swimmer and also suffers from insomnia at times. An ancient elven phrase he uses is “iyat illere” or “give it thought”.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

I hear the distressed cries of a halfling and peer up from a map i was studying, squinting my eyes in annoyance. Wanting nothing to do with their confrontation, i slip into the shadows of a nearby forest, out of sight. Surely, i think, these brutes will get no satisfaction in robbing a lowly halfling. The moment they see a Mali'aheral like me, I will be their next target. For now I need to get to this meeting on time. I hurry to my destination while avoiding the warriors.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

“Hello, good sir”, I say with a grin while skimming over him and his wares. His looks and accent tell me he is a rather successful trader and could be selling the quality of items i'm looking for. “I would like your most reliable bow and bundle of cord, please.” ”Of course! One moment...”, he says happily as he shuffles through his supplies. He soon returns and places the items I asked for on the counter between us. He says “This bow is made of the finest wood and a durable thread that will last a long time. If you ever need to scale a steep cliff or make a net, then this cord will get the job done with no problem. The bow is 200 minas and the cord, 80.” Impressed with his marketing skill I hand him the money. “Thank you, sir” I say and walk away with my things, satisfied.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

“Hmph, I am not so undignified as to steal from someone”, I think as I am about to leave the hut. Just then, a hooded man wielding a knife stands at the entrance. He shouts at me sounding somewhat nervous. “Give me your valuables now! Otherwise you won't see another day!”“Alright! Calm down for a second!” I say, hoping I am dealing with someone reasonable. I open the chest and present the bandit with its contents. Then he runs off, getting away quickly. “Idiot...” I think. Then I walk out of the hut and head somewhere else before a smarter bandit comes along.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

“Hail. Do you know where the nearest settlement is?” They give me the directions and I start off towards it but soon collapse from hunger. “Here, take this.” says someone I can't make out as I wake. I eat the piece of bread I was given and he helps me walk to the camp. I would have refused their hospitality but i'm hardly in the condition to do so. After regaining some of my strength I thank the people in the camp and continue my travels to only find myself lost once again.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

I walk up to the leader of the guards, intent on getting that reward. “I hear you need some assistance with some troublesome bandits?” The leader turns to me and nods. “That's right,” he says with in a serious tone, “it's group of 6 thieves that have been ganging up on travelers trying to enter the town and robbing them blind. Can you assist us?” I tell him “I happen to have knowledge of combat tactics that could help your men easily clear out your problem. Listen to me...” Later that day after I have explained the plan, the bandits are all together discussing something by the road when they are attacked by two archers who quickly run from them. Angered, the bandits chase the archers down the road for a while and suddenly they ambushed from both sides by guards hidden behind trees and bushes. From in a tree i help the guards to eventually kill the bandits using my bow. Later the leader hands me a bag with 600 minas in it and I go about my day.

Anything else you would like to say?: Nope. That's all.

Great Application. You seem mature and able to understand RP.

Your biography was unique. Your high elf interested me and kept me reading. You employed some correct lore as well which is good. You seem to already have a base knowledge of the server. Also, you wrote professionally and with correct usage of the English language.

Therefore, welcome to Asulon! You are Accepted.

Also, cool skin.
