*you see yet another crowd in Varivik, all gathered around in a circle, around one man, talking in a loud and deep voice on a sunny day. You approach the crowd, and make your way to the front lines. Staring at him, you let his charisma take you over, and you begin to listen to what he is saying. After each sentence you nod, not even thinking to yourself.*

Men and women awf Vurivik! Uh ahm 'ere t'aday t'a bring yoo' sawmthin' Uh think shoow'd becawme awr realiteh, and sawmthin' wuh shoow'd embrace as une part awf awr legaceh!

*he lifts up a coin, a strong, golden coin, with a Knyaz crown on it. He turns the other side, and you see that it differs. It is a map of Levanthus, Varivik represented by the Kirvel Crest.*

Jawst as d'a Empire 'as Horens, wuh shoow'd muike awr own moneh, awr currenceh! Whuy shoow'd we use minu? It is nawt une part awf awr culture, it is nawt une par awf awr histawry, and it is nawt une part awf Levanthus! Awr soil, is packed full with gawld! Let us muike une economy, strawng, against foreign currencies, and fer, d'a growth 'un flawrishmunt awf Vurivik!

*he tosses the coin into the crowd, hoping someone will catch it. A woman with bright blond hair picks it up, and smiles, eyeing its beauty. She passes it around, and everyone gets to see it. Finally, it reaches you, and staring blankly at it, you pass it on. Moving away from the crowd, you gather your thoughts, and form an opinion.*

*Jess ponders the idea for a moment before raising his voice so he could be heard over the mixed responses of the crowd*

While this coin is very nice, and clearly very well made, tha idea of a new currency really isn't feasible. It will make trade with people outside of Varivik very difficult, due to conversions and setting tha value of tha currency. It isn't a good idea for a town many have never heard of to create a currency of their own rather than using the almost universal one, as it will make it difficult for Varivik to grow through trade. Sure, Godfrey made tha Horen, but that was purely based on his pompousness and pride, something that we should not strive to associate with.

Instead, we should focus our energy on other tasks, like creating a new mine, as our current one is bare and overused, remaking tha wall, finishing tha dock, and starting our reputation as a place of trade. I don't mean to insult your idea Beladin, but it really is not in the best interest of tha town.

* Shaking his head, Ranley sighs.

"Beladin, this is foolishness. You try to make too many reforms, too fast. A currency? Why bother? Minas are used all over Asulon, creating these new coins will make it harder for us to buy and sell wares. I feel that this reform comes from the dreaded "pompousness and pride" that Jess mentioned. Perhaps... we should slow it down. That is all..."

* He leans back against a house and pulls out his little wooden pipe, watching Beladin.

*Beladin hears out both Jess and Ranley, listening to them intently, and with patience. Upon them finishing, he begins to speak once more, now louder. He is showing off confidence and charisma, hoping to convince everyone they need a new currency.*

Jess, d'a Horun muide now differunce at awll. D'ey ah still tradin' fuine, and d'er is now reasawn nawt t'a git awrselves a new coin. In fuct, if we 'ave a coin, mawr puiple muight learn awf Vurivik!

*finishing, he nods to Jess, and averts his head to Ranley, trying to shout loud enough for Ranley to hear him.*

Runleh! As Uh said, d'a Horun muide naw difference. D'ey still traded fine. Naw, as f'er speed, whuy nawt muike a lawt awf reforms quickleh? Bettuh naw d'en nevuh. *Beladin finishes his speech, and returns to his home. The crowd slowly disappears into the houses of Varivik, leaving the streets empty and bare. A silence falls upon Varivik once again, bird song, the only thing one can hear.*
