Mercen's Death

After talking with the other halflings about the complications of love in the vale, Mercen felt a severe pain in his abdomen, he left the Tookwater and went into his home, he stumbled down in hallway and into his bedroom, where he heavily plops himself down, he clenches his fists in pain, and lets out some small yelps of agony, though he doesn't want to trouble the other halflings.

The next day, you notice that Mercen hasn't left his burrow since he went in the night before, at first you think of it as nothing, but that night you worry, you head to his burrow to find him in an even worse state than he was before, and you rush to his side. Still though, Mercen reassures you that he's fine, though it is obvious, Mercen is dying, it is almost certain, unless a miracle is to occur.

Aris scratches his head, he wishes mercen to get well soon then heads out. Once away from his hearing range he mumbles

Tha's the third one who's 'ad te sickness in two seeds. Maybe I should head over to Ave and ask 'er if anythings in te air.

In the morning today, Mercen still coughs and winces in pain, a bit troubled and upset that no one has yet come to his aid, he feels abandoned, maybe he never had well enough friends that they thought enough to try and help him save his life, he gives up on trying to hold on to survival, and leaves the world feeling abandoned by his fellow haflings, friends, and loved ones, he feels lonely, and sheds a single tear just before the end.

Bili opens Mercen's door with an eerie "creeeeek" noise. Looking around the dusty, silent room, he calls out.

"Oi, Mercen, ye in 'ere?"

Of course, no reply comes from Mercen, laying on his bed, with a sad look on his face.
