The Flight of The Keg

Emberhard sits on the rigging of his soon to be complete ship some fifty feet up, he is busy attaching the last of the sails when a bird lands in front of him with a note in its mouth. After finishing one last knot he takes the letter, pleased to see it is from Titania his smile however quickly turns into a a strait face upon reading it. He scribbles a quick note on the back of the original and sends the bird back.

Emberhard shimmies down the mast having finished the sails, he looks around in silence at his barely sea worthy vessel, she could sail right now if she needed to, and she did. He takes a glance to the west, the sun is starting to set and the silhouette of the grand tree barely visible. He takes a sigh and jogs down the gangplank taking the first of the building supplies on board and storing them in the un-finished cargo hold.

The sun has fully set now and all the supplies are loaded. He takes one last glance at Holm, wishing that the maiden voyage could of taken place under batter circumstances. Emberhard runs from bow to aft releasing the mooring lines, the Keg drifts a few moments before he lets out the sails and runs back, taking hold of the wheel. He grips the wheel nervously, eyes darting around the ship as the sheets fill with wind and she lurches forward.

Under the cover of night the Keg exits the waters of Holm with a lone sailor at the helm, a lucky citizen might have been able to see the silhouette of three triangle sails drifting over the horizon in the moon light, heading due south......
