AndrewTech 3330 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name: AndrewTech How old are you?: 17 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: Yes, I have a very good grip with grammar and language. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Yes; I have played and completed both KotOR games, and have recently begun Neverwinter Nights 2. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes, I have read and agree to the rules. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: Truthfully, I can't quite remember. However, I think I looked up "Minecraft roleplaying servers" on google. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: I have made no previous application. Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/!: Not yet, but if you want me to, I will! Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: I believe that roleplaying is the act of pretending to be someone that you aren't. Like pretending to be a priest in roleplay, but really being a clerk in real life. Failure to roleplay on a roleplay server should result in an immediate ban. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is using information you have found out in the role-play world to give you an advantage in game. For example, if you find out that a fortress is about to be attacked, you can warn it's king about the attack, altering the outcome of the storyline. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power emoting is what a person could say to simulate an action that would not be possible with the conventional controls of a game. For example, "You raise your gilded sword to slice open the chest". Not something like, "You steal the dwarf's mead and drink it all". That would change the power emote into a god emote. In-Character Details Character Name: Rathian Scott Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Rathian Scott is a young adventurer who used to live in the nation of Alras before it fell to the invading undead hordes. He had come over to Asulon on board the King Syrio's Beard to escape the fall of Aegis. Rathian, however, deserted the city through an underground tunnel when it started to fall to the orcs. However, on the road to the Holy Oren Empire, he was robbed by drunken dwarves (Forest dwarves, to be precise). Because of this, he's been caucious around forests and Forest Dwarves for a while. Still, he figures that not all dwarves are the way the forest ones were, and therefore holds no prejudice against them. Rathian has lightish-brown hair, and a light beard of the same color. He is a master of both the bow and the sword, although he is not a soldier by trade. He is sometimes called "Scotty" to his closest of friends. He is about 27 years old. As a man of morality and generosity, he tries to help people who are in need, doing what is right, but does NOT like orcs, since they were heavily involved in the war that destroyed Alras. What are your characters ambitions?: My character wishes to find a new city from which build a base to stage his adventures from, gather a new group of people for his adventures, and to possibly recover some of his stuff and wealth that the Forest Dwarves stole. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: No, not really... Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I ask what his wares are. I see nothing but some old rusty helms and an old sword. I ask him about the old sword; he says that it was found outside the rubble of a ruined city. I generously overpay him with gold for the sword, which is diamond, and buy him a glass of mead at the local tavern. He says he can continue on his way with the gold I've paid him. I say goodbye to the dwarf and continue on my way. You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I confront the with a frown on my face to see what the argument is about. He says it's over a debt that the dwarf owed him, and that he demanded the debt repaid, or his life. The dwarf pleads with be to stop him, and that he'll give several gold (not enough to cover his debt) to me in exchange for me to protect him. I tell the orc to "leave the dwarf alone", brandishing my sword, and the orc grunts and heads away from the sanctuary. The dwarf gives be a few gold bars and runs away to the nearest mine. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: "Here, let me help you," I say, and help the old man up. In my bag is a spare stick, which I give to him after i fashion the stick into a cane. I pick up his money bag and hand it to him. "Thank you", and then reveals that he is really a powerful wizard who has just escaped the undead. He then spawns an even bigger bag of Minas out of thin air, and gives it to me. He then continues on his way, leaving me with my jaw open in shock, having just witnessed some truly awesome magic. everblue2er101 906 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Your application has been... Denied. The Meta-Gaming definition is still not correct. The key to understanding it is to know the differences between In-Character and Out-Of-Character. Your character cannot be 27 and have lived in Aegis, as it fell over 50 years ago. ORQ #3 is extremely unlikely, if not impossible, as this kind of magic would be extremely difficult and very rare. Minor fixes now, this is a great improvement over the last attempt. Still not quite finished. Wait at least 24 hours after this post to reapply. If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM.
