Rasun 27 Share Posted May 28, 2011 The History of Dural and Rasun'Dural Goldhand's Biography- Introduction: Rasun'Dural Goldhand is a Muntain Dwarf that was born many many years ago deep in the wild mountains of Aegis. He lived in a village where everyone was family. His village and family were called Dural but we will talk about that later. Let's being with the earliest history of his family. The Beginning: The village was formed long ago and because of this, many of his anscestors are of a few of the current clans such as Clan Goldhand and Irongut. His anscestry dates back to when the first Ironguts came into the wilds where his original anscestors had lived. His family members mixed with the Ironguts and immigrated to the city of Kal'Urguan to live there under the rule of the great King Urguan. They were not accustomed to living in these deep caves as they were mountains that they used to live in. This lead to many of Rasun's closest ancestors moving back deep into the wilds do begin the family again. Years passed and so did the generations of dwarves. Eventually the story of the time when the Ironguts came to their village was forgotten, as was their history. One day a female dwarf named Malond, gave birth to her first and only beardling, whom she named Rasun. The Destruction: One day the once peaceful village was suddenly changed forever one sunny morning. The morning was quiet and there was a peaceful silence. That silence was instantly broke by the horrific war-cries of the vicious Orcs. There were about two-score of them. They came in smashing and bashing the huts out of the way as if they were made of dirt. Young Rasun was at a very young age and ran to hide behind the grain barrel outside the house. He watched intently through his house window. Suddenly, a hole was created in his front door, and an Orc's hammer was seen protruding from the hole. The door disappeared behind a cloud of dust and he heard a scream. it sounded like his mother. All Rasun could do was listen to the loud audible screams of his villagers as the Orcs destroyed their homes and stole their most valuable possessions. He turned once to see his best friend, limp on the floor in front of its house. He felt his stomach sink. Please do not let this happen to my mother! He was thinking. Little did he realize, the turmoil had ceased. He crept our from him hiding place. There were bodies of the dwarves he'd been growing up with. His neighbors. He even saw the town Overseer lying on the floor. The Overseer stirred and Rasun ran toward him. The Overseer looked up and their eyes met. Rasun knew that the look in those eyes were telling him to take the few survivors and flee. Flee far away from here. He looked around him. The few survivors had gathered around him. He wanted so much to turn and run into his own home and see if his mother survived, bur he knew he must lead these dwarves to safety. As he was about to depart from the gate, he heard that sweet familiar voice he knew oh so well. Tears streaming from his seyes, he turned and embraced his mother. The stood there for what seemed like eternity, then released. Rasun begged for her to come with him, but she refused. She told him it was his destiny to avenge the lost villagers and destroy those evil Orcs once and for all. Eventually he gave in, and set off, into the unknown. The Naming of Dural: The travels of Rasun and the remaining dwarves was treacherous. They eventually cleared familiar mountain territory and crossed the ancient stream into the Great Taiga forest. Rasun knew of the dangers of wolves among the area so he was constantly on full alert. One evening, while he was out exploring ahead for their travels in the morning, he came across an amazing sight. Across a river he watched as a pack of six powerful wolves took on a large group of enemies of Skeletons, zombies, and even quick spiders. He watched as their cunning skill led them to outsmart the creatures and kill them all. He watched as they brought some rotten flesh and pork to their den to eat. Amazed and inspired by the wolves' amazing intelligence, I was traveling back to the group to tell them when I heard a quiet whimpering noise coming from a ditch nearby. He wandered over to investigate, and to his dismay, there were two wolf pups lying trapped in the ditch. He looked closely and could see that one of them was injured. His instinct told him to rescue them, but his gut told him to leave. The adults might come by here searching for the pups. Rasun finally decided to jump in and rescue them. It was a grueling task, but he managed to get them out safely with only a few cuts and bruises from thorns and stones, but he didn't seem to notice them. His mind was set on getting these puppies back to their pack safely. He set off in the direction where he watched the wolves walk towards after their hunt. Luckily Rasun managed to find the location of the wolf cave. He approached slowly. The wolves seemed to be searching restlessly for something. As he approached, the large alpha-male turned towards Rasun, fur bristling. Rasun backed away slowly showing the father the rescued wolf pups. When the wolf's eyes met the pups, he immediately seemed to calm down. The puppies ran towards their father squealing with extraordinary joy. The father touched noses with his pups, and looked up to see the dwarf who rescued them but. he was gone. Rasun had departed as soon as the wolves had embraced. The night was approaching quickly, so he set off to find a cave to rest in. Rasun was awoken the next day by a rough and wet feeling upon his cheek. His eyes snapped open to see a female wolf, and the two cubs he rescued the day before. When the female wolf saw that he was awake, to Rasun's dismay, seemed to beckon him to follow her. She led him back to the area outside the wolf den. The father was there waiting, sitting proud, eyes watching me. Shocked, he also beckoned me into his den. A thought gripped into Rasun's mind. Are they going to trap me? And EAT me? He followed them anyway. The cave was dark. The father led him into a room, where he still couldn't see much, but he could hear ripping and slicing. He smelled what was in this room. Meat! Hunger gnawed at his stomach and because of how hungry he had been, he ripped into the meat as well. Doing this he spilled blood on his tunic and new beard. He must have looked like a wolf himself. After the wolves and Rasun had finished their meal, they walked through a dark passageway, back outside when suddenly there was a Twang! and pain gripped Rasun's leg. He fell down in pain, and watched as the entire pack of wolves with him leaped upon the skeleton hiding in the shadows. Bones were sent flying among the cave as they ripped it to pieces. Afterwards, the wolves grabbed some of the bones and contently gnawed on them. Limping, Rasun grabbed a few bones and finished the walk outside. The puppies were waiting there anxiously. He knelt down beside them, and presented the bones. Rasun's eyes met the two puppies and he felt an extremely sensation of love between them. It was time for Rasun to go back to camp. His people would be worried. However, whenever he would turn around the two pups would be following him! Rasun then decided that he would keep them. He named the male Faliak, which means Strong Brother. The Female whom he named Azuli, means Golden Heart. Rasun then decided to change his name to Rasun'Dural, which means Spirit of the Wolf. He was inspired by their cunning skill and intelligence. These two became Rasun's best companions on the trip. One day, the travelers found the perfect location for their small village. Rasun settled this village and named it Dural Village, in honor of the wolves who lived nearby. The Finding of Aegis Many years passed since that time and Rasun had matured more and so did his wolves. One day while he was alone with them, he became lost deep in the woods. Suddenly a large structure loomed in the distance. He climbed its mighty staircase and entered it. The sign read "Cloud Temple of Aegis". He became confused but his thoughts were interrupted as he spotted many different races standing beside each other. He saw Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and even rotten Orcs. Amazed, he walked over to the group. Speaking to the dwarves, he asked what this place called 'Aegis' was. The dwarf went deep into detail and Rasun was fascinated. The dwarves spoke of a mighty underground capital called Kal'Urguan. The name seemed familiar to Rasun, but he let it slide. The dwarf described this grand city. A new king was about to be crowned and the dwarved were celebrating. Giving Rasun a map, the dwarf continued on with his conversation with the other races. Rasun then had a new ambition. Kal'Urguan was to become his new home. He shall live a peaceful life there with his best friends, Faliak and Azuli. He has the fierce, loyal, brave, and cunning spirit of the dead father of that great wolf pack he met long ago, deep in the Wilds of Aegis. Foreman of Justice: Rasun's time in Kal'Urguan was a great one! He made many great friends such as Charles, Algoda, Omithiel, Hiebe and Thordon. Quickly befriending Charles gained Rasun a seat in the government when his beloved King Simppa fell ill and Charles became overseer. He appointed Rasun Foreman of Justice. His duty was to train and pay, and supply new guards. He also was to help Charles with foreign relations. Rasun lived a great life as foreman. The guarding force grew and the dwarves rose to power. The orcs showed trouble however. They would often raid, showing no mercy at all to those dwarves who lived in the city. Charles told Rasun to take a small force and speak to the Rex about the problem. Upon the meeting with the Rex, Rasun would soon discover that he was not behind these raids. The cruel nomadic orcs were to blame. In fact, the Nomadic Orcs even posed problems to the Orcs of Sanjezal. The first Dwarf-Orc treaty was made against the nomadic orcs that day. Rasun served for many years as Foreman. Eventually his best of friends, Algoda encountered him one day. He spoke to Rasun that he was given Baron title and was given permission to found a new colony under the flourishing dwarven empire. Algoda told Rasun that he had chosen him to be his overseer of the new colony. This of course shocked Rasun. He confronted Charles about it. Eventually the decision was made that he would leave his job as Foreman to become Overseer of this new colony. A New Colony Upon discovery of the news, Rasun and Algoda prepared for immediate departure to find the location for this new colony. Crossing a great sea, the finally encountered land. Forests and hills covered most of the landscape. After much travel, they came upon an old cottage. Inside, lived a great dwarf named Axe. Fascinated and eager to learn more about this land, they asked Axe everything he knew about the surrounding landscape. Rasun and Algoda become astounded to learn that magnificent mountains had been discovered not far from Axe's noble cottage. Setting off, they could already begin to see the large structures in the distance. The mountains were tall and towered over the forest below. Algoda and Rasun realized that they might have found the future location for their new colony. However, they soon would discover much more to this mountain range. Climbing to the top of one of these mountains, they looked below to see an expansive valley completely surrounded by the tall mountain face. They both instantly knew that this was to become their new colony. After making their way down into the valley they discovered a natural tunnel from outside that lead through the mountain and into the valley which they could use as the entrance to their new colony. Building a small storage shack, locking up the chests, and staking a sign outside claiming the land, Algoda and Rasun looked ahead to a wonderful future. Algoda brought up a thought Rasun hadn't thought of. A name for the town. They both pondered the situation for quite a while, when Algoda made a decision. He combined the beginning of both their names to create their new city name. "Al" for Algoda, and "ras" for Rasun. Thus the creation of Kal'Alras.
