Definitions In your own words, define what the act of role-playing is:In my own words, role-playing is when you take on the persona of a character, real or fictional, and imitate them to the best of your ability. If they are real, you would repeat their actions and act as they have in past examples. For a fictional character, establish a personality and attempt to mimic how you think they would act in situations. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:In my own words, meta-gaming is when a player, such as myself, is armed with knowledge that my character does not have. In most cases, the player would use this knowledge to gain an upper hand, but I would avoid that as much as possible. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:In my own words, for the final time, power-emoting would be when one player does an action without another being able to react. Such a situation: Player1 pickpockets Player2 and steals his coin purse. In-Character Details Character Name:Ter Khan Character Race:Human, specifically northerner. Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:My character, Ter Khan, is five feet, eleven inches tall with silver-tinted hair and almost luminescent eyes. He is twenty-four years old and comes from a ravaged village where his family, what was left of it, was slaughtered. (I will now speak in first-person, because it's getting repetitive) Since I was young, others have acted harshly towards me. I've never been able to defend myself until recently as I learned to fight. Being one of the few left in my village, I decided that I would defend those who cannot defend themselves. I went in search for the band of savages that had attacked my home, seeking revenge. Fortunately, caught off guard, I was able to stop and capture them. I know that enough blood was spilled, therefore I spared them. I now seek adventure, I wish to make friends, and to protect them with all my will (which I have plenty of - I am not easily broken, along with a high pain tolerance), and maybe someday, if I'm lucky; I shall die honourably. I have made mistakes as everyone has, perhaps my haunting past will leave my dreams some day, perhaps not. For now, I must keep moving. What are your characters ambitions?:My character wishes to protect the innocent, to be he who guards those who cannot themselves. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:As I post this, I am on an account without access to my screenshot, but I will post it as a reply. Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:Ter Khan has trained with an Elf he once met, becoming proficient with bows. Also, he often wears armor and a mask, concealing his face - he wishes to remain, for some part, unknown. Perhaps this is because he wants to be an anonymous good-doer, or maybe it is so others do not know what the face of an ex-thief looks like. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?I walk over to the dwarf and ask him about his wares, checking how much I have on me. I talk to him, smalltalk mostly, asking him about his life, where he lives - how he is in the situation he's in mostly. I try to find something I feel like I can use and buy it from him. If I find nothing, I still buy something from him. Knowing that he is poor, I give him a little more than he asks. I then give him a farewell, briskly walking away. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?I approach the pair, calling to the Orc as I approach closely. I attempt to be a mediator, to cool things down. Now, not knowing how the Orc will react, but I assume he will be aggressive, I keep on my toes. I ask him why he is threatening the Dwarf, and I ask him to kindly stop. (Now, this can go many ways, depending on the Orc, but for simplicity's sake, let's say the Dwarf owes him) I offer the Orc to pay the Dwarf's debt, and depending on if he accepts or not, I prepare myself for combat. If a fight occurs, and if the Dwarf is unarmed, I urge him to leave whilst I encounter the Orc. If the Dwarf fights also, I make sure that he doesn't take much of a beating. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:I assist the man, checking for injuries. I ask him if he is alright, and if he needs the Minas. If he says he wants them, I gather them for him, put it in a pouch of mine own, and help the man, half-carrying him to his destination. When we arrive, I make sure the old man has a walking stick of his own, and give him his coins. If he is all set, I leave knowing that I have helped someone who has needed me. Wizard 125 Share Posted September 24, 2012 Denied. Please include some relevant lore in your biography. We want to know you have read a little about the server before we let you loose. Please include the screenshot next time. I understand you were unable to this time. Open-response need some more fleshing out. Include some good dialogue. Make sure you do not power-game in the orc scenario. Just correct these few things and I think you should be accepted next time.
