In-Character Details Character Name: Jonathan Black Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Jonathan Black's father, William Black, was an innkeeper in the city of Arethor. When his mother wasn't busy helping to keep the inn running, she also ran a clothing store quite close to the inn. Jonathan's parents were both good at what they did, and were successful enough to send him to school. His father also provided an entirely different, yet extremely necessary, framework for him: Morality. Jonathan's father clearly taught him the difference between right and wrong. He was taught to not steal, lie, or kill, and to defend and help those who could not help themselves, amongst other things. He wasn't taught, however, not to hate orcs; in fact, he was taught quite the opposite. This somewhat irrational dislike has remained with him today. Jonathan's childhood was mostly uneventful; he did well in his studies, proving to be an intelligent student. He also showed a strong desire to learn the art of the sword and bow. The fact that Jonathan was ambidextrious helped him greatly in doing this. By the time he was an adult, Jonathan was surprisingly skilled in battle. He joined the City Guard of Arethor for five years, but quit due to the fact that he found it boring, not to mention that he wished to do good outside of the city. He is now twenty-three years of age. He intends to become a Cleric, or perhaps a member of another organization. He also intends to serve Arethor in some greater capacity then as a city guard, if at all possible - but not at the cost of his conscience. What are your characters ambitions?: For now? Joining the Order of Clerics. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: http://imgur.com/SjHlI Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: He's a very friendly and kindhearted individual, but can be deathly serious when it comes to putting an end to evil, as he calls it. A bit of a Templar, at times. He uses two swords and a bow in combat, along with a shield on his back if needed. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I approach the shopkeeper with a smile, looking at his wares; it appears to be some Dwarven craftsmanship. "Fine wares, dwarf. What brings you to Arethor?" "Tryin' to make a living." He answers. "Times are tough." I pull out a bag of coins and give several to him. The dwarf appears shocked. "T-That's some amount of money there! What'll ye be buying?" "Nothing. Keep the money; it's for you." I walk away into the crowd. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I jump into action immediately, drawing my weapons and approaching the Orc in an intimidating manner. "Get back and leave him alone, brute. I don't want this to get messy." I scowl at him and state in a point-blank manner. The orc growls at me and attacks, attempting to bring his axe down. I barely block it with my swords. I then attempt to do a quick thrust, but the orc dodges back, swinging again. He ends up hitting me, but it's only a glancing blow. I make a quick slash, hitting him on the arm and drawing a good amount of blood. The orc decides that the conflict just isn't worth it and runs off. I then speak to the dwarf, "Are you alright?" He responds to me, "Aye, I am. Thank you." The two of us go off our own ways. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I run up to him at full speed, obviously concerned. "Are you alright, sir?" I gently shake him to see if he is conscious. If he were not alright, I would take him to the nearest area where he could receive medical attention. I would also pay for it in the process; he's an old man, he shouldn't have to. If he were to say "I'm fine, thank you." I'd help him to his feet, give him his money, and allow him to go on his way. Should he attempt to offer me a reward, I'd say "Keep your money, sir. Or give it to those who need it more than I."
