Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplay (RP) is when one takes on the mind and emotions of another character and acts as him which normally is different from how you would act in the real world.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is a concept that destroys realistic RP, it’s when you hear about something or learn something, or even see something out of character and use it to your advantage in character. For example my real life friend tells me that my town will be attacked by orcs soon, over skype. My roleplay character hasn’t heard the info, but I have, I then go in game as my character and tell everyone.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting is when you do something in Roleplay that was not approved by whoever you are roleplaying with or you force an event to go a certain way. For example, “*casts a magic spell causing his opponent to explode” instead of “*casts a spell aimed at killing the foe”, power emoting is when you don’t give your opponent the chance to react how they would like.

In-Character Details

Character Name: Dargo Headsplitter

Character Race: Cave Dwarf

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Dargo Headsplitter is the son of D’vas Axecurl and J’fown Armorian, both were members of the Irongut clan. Dargo, being a cave dwarf, spent most of his childhood learning to smith, as his parents were diamond miners. When Dargo was about 45 seasons old, the great fall of Kal'Dwain happened and his parents rushed him away. His father died, but his mother found him a new family, as she was gravely wounded. Dargo was raised by elves, until he was 100 seasons old. Then things went sour.

Dargo hated the elves because they did not love his gods and smithing, so Dargo spent most of his time smithing while the elves planted trees and sang to flowers. When Dargo was 100, he had a falling out with his guardians and he fled to the ruins of Kal'Dwain, where he was wounded very badly by the Drakes now inhabiting it.

Scared and wounded, Dargo stumbled onto the cave dwarves, who took him in with open arms because of his love and skill of smithing. Dargo is a loving dwarf who is kind to all, except elves, whom he prefers to not be around. Dargo sometimes has fits of rage when his injury’s start to hurt.Dargo speaks with a heavy accent, he uses words such as t' and aye'. Dargo prefers his signature ruby studded belt and smithing gear. He is built strong, and hardy like all drawves his kind. His beard is large and he is very popular among lady dwarves. Dargo is an average size for a dwarf and is very handsome (in dwarf standards).

What are your characters ambitions?: To become the best smithing dwarf ever seen before.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: He is not an evil soul, just a lost one that needs dire help with his elf hatred and hurt wounds.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Dargo, walking along in Arethor, pondering the humans use of iron, comes across the yelling dwarf. Reminded of his own struggle when he ran away, Dargo talked to the dwarf. He soon found out that this dwarf was poor enough to starve and so Dargo took a look at his ware, and saw a chestplate he like. He bought this chestplate with the dwarf thanking him, and walked along.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Dargo, upon seeing this struggle, goes up to the orc and dwarf in a calm manner. While they yell, Dargo tries to calm them down, to no avail. He calls over a monk just as the orc charges the dwarf. Dargo tries to hold him back, and with the help of the monk successfully calms him down. He sends both men back their own ways and continues walking.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?:

Dargo is walking to Malinor to sell his wares, when he sees an old man. The old man’s walking stick breaks before his eyes, and Dargo rushes to help. He helps the man up and repairs his stick with some gold and tells the man “Sell this gold to get a better stick, on the house.” The old man smiles and heads on his way, as Dargo continues on his way.
