Arik, what the bobba is the Creative Cafe!? Oh child, stay a while, and listen!

The Creative Cafe is a project started by me back in early 2012, It began as a way to have a chill environment for members to come together in TS and have fun outside of RP. Originally it simply consisted of karaoke, but evolved into a performance based, community open-mic event that actually became pretty popular, to my surprise.

The idea being, express yourself in some way. You don’t have to sing, you can read literature! Play a musical instrument! Perform a parody with your friends! Or just listen and have a good time, and chat with everybody.

What do I do to sign up? That’s easy! Either post on this thread using the included signup form, and show up, or contact me or Sparrow privately, and we'll add you to the list! Don’t worry about messing up or being nervous, we’re all here to support you! Come give it a go! Take a new risk, sing some karaoke! Or, read some creepypasta you found while browsing the web in your scariest voice! There are no rules! It just has to be performed by you! No playing back recordings! Click here in order to see the list of performances and in what order they will perform.

Are there any prizes! Of course! We will have many opportunities to win some cool items, such as exclusive forum ranks, in game presents, and bragging rights, and perhaps even more! (This requires cooperation with GMs)

What opportunities are there? Well, we’ll have our lottery drawing, which is a secret prize that will be given to a lucky winner at some point within the show! The only thing you have to do in order to qualify is be in the channel when we go to select the winner! So, careful, or you may miss it!

Of course, we have to let the people that perform get a chance to win something, right? Every person that performs will be entered into a drawing to be given the “Thinking Cap” forum rank!

Additionally, we will hold a Community Favorite contest! The performer who has the most votes will be crowned the Community favorite, and be given the Thinking Cap” forum rank, alongside a special Christmas stocking (with stuffers ;) ) in game!

And those who win the Judge’s Favorite award (given by our 3 special judges), will receive a special stocking, the “Thinking Cap” forum rank, an upgrade to their VIP status (up to gold), and a very special gift in game!

What are the rules of the channel? I’m so glad you asked! The Creative Cafe channel has very few rules, but the rules we do have we stick to and take very seriously.

1. The Channel is not for trolling of any kind. Save for joking around in performances chat should be kept from trolling performers or other members in chat. Know your limits and when enough is enough.
   
   
2. Do not disrespect those who are performing in any way. If somebody is taking the courage to express themselves in front of dozens and dozens of people, bear in mind that it might not be easy.
   
   
3. One of my most important rules. Do not AFK or MUTE SOUND in the Creative Cafe Channel. Users who do so will be kicked. The channel’s purpose is to enjoy the company of others and listen to the performances. If you aren’t going to listen, get out.
   
   
4. Try and have fun, and entertain yourself and others!

So, Arik, when is this shindig anyway? Why, it’s soon- December 08, 2012 at 6:00 pm EST - onward! Which brings me to my next point, this session will be Christmas Themed!

So, bring all your nice Christmas tales and music, instrumentals and spirit, as it will be super duper fun!

Let me give a wonderful thank you to Sparrow, who is once again assisting me with reviving this project of mine. He was an incredible driving force behind its success when I created it, with his meticulous organization of the performances and promoting within the forums and in game. I can say wholly that Creative Cafe was what it was because of his help, and left to my own ADHD devices it would never have reached its potential. Why, might you ask, did it die out, and not as many people know of it now? The answer is simple-I got a full time job! Once I’d started working I was unable to commit to the project and it fell through, but it was popular to the end. There have been a few attempts to revive it by me and some others, but they have failed, but not this time ;) I can’t wait to spend some time with you guys and have a wonderful Christmas Party! For now, take a listen to this song I recorded just for the Creative Cafe thread, to get you in the Christmas spirit:

Absolutely! Nobody talks anyways, the mics are only activated for performances and intermissions. Half the fun is being in the audience! No pressure, free show!
