Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is very similar to act, you have entered a new world where either very much to none of our modern rules and understandings.  We engage in this foreign world in a similar fashion to act, fully living out the lives of the character we have created to represent ourselves and use to explore, learn, experience, and discover aspects and encounters in this new world.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is the use of in character information gotten through out of character means in character.  The best way would be to cite an example that I had first hand experienced on Crafthammer.  After being cursed by chaos (the true evil of the world) my character's mind and actions had begun to feel changed, almost as if forced.  My change happened atop a floating island above the lava of the nether with no solid land within sight.  Another player had checked my character's description and used the information in character, claiming that he knew I had become a daemon (although I had no physical change or interactions to suggest that I indeed was) and tried to have me executed immediately.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: power-emoting, or Power gaming as I know it, is the force of actions upon another players without given a fair chance to react, respond, or otherwise fight back.  An execution where a man is tied and unable to move while his executioner swing his axe downwards to deliver a killing blow is not power emoting, however the emote *swings his hammer, knocking Johnathan to the ground unable to remain conscious  would be an example of the evil, dirty act, known as power gaming

In-Character Details

Character Name: Valmir Aundae

Character Race: High-elf

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Valmir was born was born into a household in which he was taught that the gods have plans for us all, he was taught by his mother that we should put our faith in the gods relentlessly and to shun any help besides that of the gods, natural, or done by one's self.  She also taught him pacifism in all situations.  Meanwhile his father taught him that it is best to help those who need it however possible and that he should defend everyone however he can.  While the two teachings were quite different between the two parents they loved each other very much however one day when Valmir was a mere 53 years of age his father had fallen out of the treetops, breaking many bones and falling into severe sickness due to infection.  He begged for his wife to fetch a healer or a doctor or a better source of healing besides her own prayers however she did not and Valmir's father soon passed away.

Furiously at his mother for letting his father die Valmir left the household and began seeking guidance.  Due to his religious upbringing he felt very comfortable in the church in the midst of his search for which philosophy was true.  After the next decades of his life he came to the conclusion that he believed the best method of life was not to one side or the other but a middle point.  Using his religious upbringing as a base he set leaving is familiar home and began to travel to the ends of Malinor offering his help to those in need.

Valmir wears orange robes that he had customed tailored for his body to allow him to wear that through any weather, it provides a decent thickness and covering for him to handle cool weather and light enough for him to withstand the bright sun.  Valmir is in a constant state of personal discovery, debating whether or not who and where really deserves his assistance and what he deems as needy.

What are your characters ambitions?: Valmir wishes to travel and see the world and spread help and care to those who needs it.  Valmir would often try to give guidance for others as though they are his family if he feels they are lost.  He is more than willing to follow and learn holy magic to further help him help others.

Although he is not a Monk of the Wilven Sanctuary he wishes to be one with all of his heart as he has heard of their good deeds and travels throughout the land

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Upon seeing the dwarf trying to make end's meet in a city so far away from his own I would approach him and kindly ask what brought the man so far away from his own land.  Upon receiving the answer he would Introduce himself and ask for the merchant's name, if it was not already given, and exchange pleasantries   I would then ask what the merchant has for sale and purchase whatever goods he would need and pay the dwarf more than he had said the cost was of the goods.  I would then say a prayer for the dwarf asking for the dwarf to have a happy life of virtue and kindness, then give the dwarf food (unless he had just bought food or could not spare any) and depart.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

I would approach the situation and try to diffuse the situation by asking what is it that the Orc wants from the Dwarf, possibly bribing the Orc to leave the dwarf alone.  Should the Orc continue to threaten the Dwarf, I would tell the Orc to think of what the gods would do and try to reflect the situation to the Orc as if the Dwarf was threatening him.  If a fight were to break out I would most likely try to defend the Dwarf if he were attacked first.

However if the dwarf had struck first he would stand back, only to take care of the wounded fighters after the fight to the best of his ability.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I would rush to the man's aid, offering him help onto his feet and find him a new stick to use.  If the man accepted help I would quickly begin to gather the coins into a neat pile and place them back in the bag, making sure that every coin that fell was returned to it's rightful owner.

I would then help the man to his next destination or until the man said he no longer needed my assistance.

- Your biography is too short and lacks server lore (Think of locations, events, etc.)

- All ORQ's lack dialog

- In the ORQ it is not an matter of "if" but what they do, you can think of any scenario you want
