Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? As I walk into the grand city Arethor and move about the streets looking for a merchant or vender who is selling weapons, I come upon a short and very dirty stall. Upon looking closer at it's occupant I notice that it is a dwarf. He is busy messing around with a chest full of tools and weapons so his back is turned. I walk up and tap him on the shoulder. He was not expecting this, and whirled around slamming his ax into the post that held up the stand. The stand promptly collapsed on top of him. I step back and look at the mess of wood and tools that lay on top of the small dwarf. He struggles to remove himself from the rubble. Bending down I lift a large pole that is fallen across his back and he squirms out from under him and the stand. “Are ye alroight there lad?”. He shakes his head and a cloud of dust rises from his hair and beard. “Aye 'ah be alroight bu' me stand 'is finished, I don' think ah will be able t' fix it”. “I c'n 'elp ye...'ere lif' this 'ere pole”. He lifts the poll and I correct the toppled over table. Then once he leans the pull up against the table I quickly tired off with a rope. I then noticed the sign on his post. It reads “Farren's Goods-Makers of weapons and tools”. After reading the sign I speak with him “Oh so ye make weapons do ye? Well, ah'm in the market fer a new axe. Do ye 'ave what a' need?” “Aye, I 'ave what ye need tha' will be no charge fer 'elpin me.” “No I will pay ye lad, and I shall pay ye extra because ye be a dwarf”. I reach into my bag and pull out a heavy pouch of coins, I then hand this to the small dwarf. “Oh t'ank ye greatly sar, t'ank ye greatly”. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? It is been a long day and I had been searching for a place to rest my head for a few hours. I hear a loud shout from around a bend in the road and this is answered by an equally loud shout. Upon rounding the bend I find a short dwarf almost chest to chest with the tall orc his tusks gleam with spit as he's shouts at the dwarf. Not understanding the orcish language, I walk up to them with my battleaxe drawn “Oi you there, ah think ye be messin wit' the wrong people. Even ye remember th' las' toime we wen' t' war wit' ye it was a bi' over a day ago.” I notice a long and bloody gash across the orc's arm. ?an' ah see ye were in th' battle t'. Well then ah sugges' ye leave now befer I cut off yer 'ead and skin ye fer a carpet.”. Upon hearing this a flicker of rage appeared in the orc's eyes. He starts rambling in orcish and not knowing what he’s saying I hurl my smaller axe at his feet “I don’ t’ink ye kno’ wat yer getting’ into.” He mumbled something I could not understand and walked off in the other direction. “T'ank ye sar, ah fergot me axe back in th' 'old an' 'e was abou' t' kill me” “Any toime lad, bu' wait, ah know ye...”. I lean forward to get a closer look at his face and through his helm I discover eyes that I recognize. “Zahrer? It be me yer ol' friend' Tog” “Tog?...” His facial expression changed as though he had just recognized “Tog!!!”. We embrace for a moment and then separate to inspect each other. “I's bin a long toime there lad” I respond eagerly “Aye a long time” “well le's git some food inter ye an' we c'n catch up” “Aye food would be nice” and we walked off together towards the dwarven and hold. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do? I approached the man that lies on the ground bending down I propped up against a tree. “'re ye alroight there sar?” He pauses before responding, takes a breath, and speaks “yes I am, but my coins, all my coins, they spill everywhere” “I will git them fer ye”. I bent down quickly, retrieve most of the coins and put back into the bag. “There ye gu frien' all 'ere fer ye and 'ere tae this” I reach around and pull a blunt axe off of my back. With some effort I pull off the head and replace it on my back I examined the shaft of the tool intended to the old man. “Will this do?” “Aye this will do, and thank you ever so much kind dwarf. How can I repay thee?” “Ye can' repay me 'cause ye don' need ter, my 'elp was free o' charge” the man stares at me bewildered at my response. I walk around him and continue on down the road. He stares at me until I round the next bend and lose him from my sight P.S. Josh3738 has permited me to use his name in this application.
