Ther is a gigantic problem in th' entire world an' that is a need fer jobs so please reply here with any ideas and jobs for people.

List of Job Ideas

Newspaper - ((I have been thinking about this one and we can probably get it started up where one onwer will run the whole process and will hire workers to deliver the newspaper and writers to write the actual newspapers with events and gossip and other business rumors and the like. The profits from the sales will go to the owner of the newspaper and then will pay each worker their respective pay. It could be supplied by the kingdom or it could be a private business, not sure yet, and you can also monetize the paper with ads for shops and businesses.))

Bank - ((I made the bank thinking that many people would use it which would allow me to be able to give jobs to people to run it, but it has turned out extremely poor idea, even after I have lowered the prices to my thinking of rediculous, but I may tweak some aspects of it to boost people to use it, making it more attractive to bandits and villains.))

Stores - ((Stores can hire people, and I have seen Gotrek hire people to find the lowest prices in the land which is fine.))

Apprenticeships - ((High Council could each have an apprentice))

Diplomats - ((One to each nation, appointed by the archbishop, more of an apprentice kindof))

Town Crier - ((Kind of a boring job, perhaps just a part time one))

Skill System based jobs - ((Lumberjack, cook, etc will all become more effective when the new stat system comes out.))

I would looked to help run the newspaper if hats an option. Also don't forget that ye can be a guard and in the army for a job.

Forgot about that, but I was thinking more of new jobs to add, but I will make a section called "Current Jobs" and put it in there.

Ye could make apprenticeship jobs. For example the Master Smith could take on a pupil who would one day become a smith and eventually may succeed the Master Smith. You could also make diplomatic jobs. The King could assign diplomat positions like Diplomat to Haven, Diplomat to Al'Khazar, Diplomat to Krugmar, Diplomat to Dunwood, etc. (sorry for any misspelled city names). Another idea is you could make town criers. People who go around shouting the latest news and such. Also you could, once the skill system comes out, make jobs based on who has good points in skills like lumberjack and such.

There already is a diplomat, its the Archbishop thats his job. But he could go to more cities than he does.

You can have diplomats to each nation, and the archbishop will run all of them and coordinate them, while his decision is always overrulling theirs. Its to make it easier incase he can't be in 4 places at once.

I like the diplomat to each nation idea. And I volunteer to be a diplomat to Al'Khazar if the idea is implemented.

Start putting some of these in to action because recently there seem to be limited variety in jobs. My ideas are maybe going back to Charles's government in each town that could be applied to Kal Urgan, and Outer Kal Urgan. With an overseer etc. But I like a lot of the ideas especially apprentices. But also people should not have more than one big job. Like Thordon is an army captain, and a priest. Any way you should have a meeting soon put some of these in to action!

People will only do a job if it has a return on the time investment. Here are some of my ideas.

Quests

I see that there are just a few test quests set up now. As more quests come online, people will occupy their time doing the quests. I have experience developing quests if needed.

Trade Between Areas

If some areas had one or two things in abundance and 4-6 things that they don't produce enough of, this would force trade between areas. To do this properly, a chart must be created showing resources and the areas in a matrix with some sort of value assigned to how much of the resource is found there. Like this:

Resource . . . . Area 1 . . . . Area 2 . . . . Area 3 . . . . Area 4

Sand . . . . . . . . . 3 . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 1

Cobblestone . . . . 2 . . . . . . . 3 . . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . . 2

Coal. . . . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 3 . . . . . . . . 2

Iron Ore . . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 3

Gold Ore. . . . . . . 1 . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 2 . . . . . . . . 3

Etc.

Thereby, setting up a potential increase for highwaymen/bandits. Thereby, causing merchants to travel in caravans with guards. This is three different jobs (Tradesmen, Bandits and Caravan Guards).

Another thing this does is to cause prices to raise the further from the source the buyer is.

Food Prep

I see a command for /hunger, but it doesn't seem to be implemented. If this were working and prepared foods relieved the most hunger, then this would make farming and cooking profit worthy.

Alchemy

With a hand full of potion recipes involving rare and unusual component, Woodsmen and Rangers would have new things to do.

Keep in mind that I am new here and these ideas may already be implemented. If so, sorry I was redundant.

((For most of those we have to wait till the skill system is out, also I personally cannot control trade for the other kingdoms, so I do my own trade with the goods we have, ex: iron, we have a frig ton of it, and i sell it all, along with gold and diamonds.

Algrim, once the skills come out, we can really develop jobs, but until then we can only do so much, I believe ambassadors got started, and I am still figuring out the newspaper stuff. We probably should have a meeting soon though.))

I Think the bank could be Great! (( Only if we 'ave the plugin. ))

It would be a Minas Bank. My idea would be like every time ye store ye stuff, ye owner of tha' bank get 50 minas, or So.

(( But then we would 'ave tha' ask Availer or Vaquxine cause that plugin would be really good. ive seen such a plugin on bukkitlist i thought.. ))

((First of all Urlord that is my skin!!!)) The problem with the government is it has become just the High Council running everything, not just in Kal Urgan. As well the main reason I bring this up is because Outer Kal Urgan is more populated, than Kal Urgan itself. Xavier, Lukas, Skeayene, Gotrek, King, and all of ye are doing great with Outer Kal Urgan. But no one seems to be working for Kal Urgan. Back in the day Charles sort of ran it as Overseer, and Omithiel as well. The Overseer to Kal Urgan sort of keeps everything running well since the King has many other responsibilities. ((But yes once stats come out it will be a lot better)).
