If you were to read it, you would see that it says, "I will be back at a later day, hopefully soon! There's many things I would wish to say, but I haven't the time to do it. Roxanne is somewhere out there, and I will not leave her by herself with all of these monsters about... He rips the note from the board, ties it to the firespark and lights it. "ONE! TER! THREE!" Rupert tosses the firespark up and watches it light the night sky in pretty greens and whites. "Don' worry yerself Bili! I'll protect yer 'ome!" Rupert takes out his heavy iron shovel and runs to Bili's burrow, standing guard in front of the door.
