In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Gleomïr Valkyrie

Current Age: 21

Sub-race (if any): N/A

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Gleomïr had a very difficult childhood, with his father always pushing him to the limit. Every day, his father would wake his brother and him up well before sun-up to begin their melee training. The daily regiment included a 5 mile run every weekday (and 10 on the weekends), sparring with each other for 2 hours practicing jabs, thrusts, and parries, a healthy lunch at high noon, a 4 hour free period, and then 3 hours of the finest education.

Swordsmanship was not Gleomïr’s forte, yet it was forced upon him by his father who’s father trained him in the same way. This intense lifestyle was to continue until age 18. Gleomïr’s only pleasure was using his free period to sneak into the woods and practice archery with his young elven friend Arithîl. They would stay out there for the full four hours and sometimes Gleomïr would sneak out at night to practice the way of the bow. They always had a merry time, sometimes Arithîl would sneak out some of his own fathers elven liquor and they would enjoy themselves.

One day, Arithîl stopped coming to the woods. Gleomïr searched and searched the woods for his friend until the night hours only to the young elf’s bow. He returned that night to be punished harshly for missing education. He was given three days without food as a punishment. Gleomïr never heard from Arithîl again, yet every day he still went out and practiced archery with the elven bow in honor of the friend whom he believed to be dead.

This was all to much for Gleomïr, from the harshness of his father, to the disappearance of his closest childhood friend. At age 15, he decided to pack up and try his luck on the road. It was a rainy night, and after midnight Gleomïr woke from his chamber and snuck to his own pantry. He filled his leather sack with a wheel of cheese, two loaves of bread, a small beaker of wine, and a change of clothes. He grabbed the elven bow and his iron training dagger. He was on the road nearly an hour after midnight. Gleomïr was soon lost, his plan was to follow the road until he reached the familiar area of the wood where he used to practice with Arithîl. Since it was the last hours of the night, Gleomïr was weary so he followed the road for much to long, and when he finally cut into the wood, it was not the familiar glen that he was used too. These woods were much darker and he could not see anything. He decided to spend the night, he spread his blanket on the hard forest ground. He fell asleep just as the morning sun began to shine through the tall, dark treetops.

Gleomïr awoke in the early afternoon with no recognition of his surroundings. The wood still because of the thick and ominous tree cover. He quickly ate most of his food, paying no attention to the thought of rationing. He began to wander the dark wood. The time began to slip by, and soon it was getting dark again. He heard shouts and saw light through the trees. He was used too sneaking about because often times he would sneak out at night to practice with Arithîl. He crept behind the trees and in the clearing lit by a small campfire he saw a beautiful young woman tied to a tree in the middle of the clearing and around her hopped four grotesque creatures that Gleomïr believed to be goblins from the pictures he had seen in his fathers library. All though he could not understand the barbaric tongue in which they spoke, he believed they were planning to kill the beautiful maiden. Although he was terrified, he had a small burst of courage. He grabbed his bow from his back and strung an arrow. Without thinking to negotiate, he quickly shot the first goblin square between the eyes. Gleomïr grabbed the second arrow as the goblins began to realize what happened and soon another goblin was lying on the ground with an arrow between his eyes. The third one was close now with a small knife. Gleomïr grabbed his fathers iron dagger from his waste and thrust it into the goblins chest. He felt a sharp burning pain in the back of his leg to see that the fourth goblin had snuck behind him and slashed at his leg. He felt the warm blood seep down his leg and it wasn’t soon before the fourth goblin lost his life. Gleomïr ripped a strip of cloth from his shirt and bound his wound.

He untied the maiden and all that came from her mouth was a stream of the most sincere thanks. Gleomïr treated her with respect and asked her if she would like to sleep on his own blanket. She replied with a suggestive tone, “After a frightening show like that, I’d prefer if you slept on it with me.” That was the night that Gleomïr lost his innocence and also took the young woman’s. It was a night Gleomïr would never forget. Before the woman woke he was long gone but she saw all of his food and supplies left by her side so that she could get home safely.

Gleomïr walked south until he found the familiar path. He followed it back until he saw the grounds of his house. He walked through the door expecting a terrible punishment but instead his father and brother met him with a warm and loving embrace saying how worried they were about him. Home life for Gleomïr was much better from then on with his father letting him practice archery freely. On his 18th birthday Gleomïr and his brother set out to face the world.

Ambitions for the Future: Gleomïr would love to continue living the adventurous lifestyle that does now. Filled with women, money, and adventure. He accepts that eventually find that one girl and settle down with a large fortune that he has collected from his many jobs.

Personality: Gleomïr keeps his personality hidden. On the outside he is for the most part kind, yet too superiors he can be cold and untrusting. He is very humorous and quick to crack a joke. His mysterious attitude and rugged features attract females of all races. He is also known for the deflowering of multiple maidens. It is quite hard to gain Gleomïr’s trust, although once you have gone through enough together, you will never find a better friend.

Skills: Gleomïr’s father was a knight. As a child, his father made him practice melee combat and train as knight as he did once. Gleomïr was miserable and although his brother enjoyed the melee training, his only joy was to sneak out and practice shooting a longbow with his young elven friend. Gleomïr excelled at bowmanship and as soon as he could make his own decisions it was all that he practiced. In his many hours in the woods, much of it was spent climbing trees to retrieve arrows. He is a wonderful climber and an experienced ranger.

Any other details you wish to share about your character: Gleomïr never goes anywhere without Arithîl’s bow in honor of his childhood friend.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Gleomïr takes his bow and silently places an arrow on the drawstring. As the man walks past a wooden wall Gleomïr lets his arrow fly. It hits exactly at its target. The arrow catches the man in the cloth under his armpit and sticks deep into the wall, pinning the man. Gleomïr walk over to the man and says, “What are you doing?!” The man does not reply and spits in Gleomïr’s face. Gleomïr does not take well to humiliation, and knees the man in the gut momentarily taking his guard down. The mysterious man sweep out Gleomïr's leg and begins to kick him. He roles back to escape the attack. “GUARDS!” He shouts. The man doesn’t reply to their questioning either so he is taken into custody. After interrogation, it is learned that the man was planning to assassinate the emperor. Gleomïr is offered a large reward of 1000 minas but refuses, saying only; “I prefer to earn my money.” He then walks off still irritated from the humiliation.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: Gleomïr has had many run-ins with Bandits before on his travels. From his experience he has learned that they are big, strong, and very dumb. He also has been told that he can make his voice sound scary. Gleomïr shouts in a guttural tone, “Drop your weapons and armor and leave this man alone for I have killed hundreds for doing less, he has done no wrong! Now!”. Gleomïr then goes on a very detailed rant on how he would kill the bandits, this rant included disembowelment and the loss of limbs and he did not stop there, he then proceded to insult the mens families and siblings crossing so many lines. Gleomïr advances towards the confused and terrified men, pointing his sword at the largest, “What are you two doing harassing this old man, I’ll give you a chance right now, you can run off into the woods... or you can both die.” Gleomïr watches the men run off as he sends a smile at the man. “The funny thing is, they probably could have killed us both. Also, lucky I can make my voice sound like that..” Gleomïr says as he bends over picking up some armor “I bet this could fetch a fair price. go sell them.” Gleomïr bows to the man and walks off, a smile on his face.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: “How much for thirty of your finest arrows?” Gleomïr asks the man.

“300 minas” The man replies.

“I could buy a brand new bow with that money! I’ll give you 50 minas.”

"I'll give you 15 arrows for that much, do not try to swindle me! I have been in the business long before you were a wee baby."

Gleomïr however, was still determined to get a price below 100 minas for he needed money.

"Howabout this, 30 arrow for 75 minas and we can end this right now."

“I am flexible, but not that flexible. I’ll give you 30 arrows for 100 minas.” Gleomïr is usually very bad at haggling and doesn't know what to do next but then he has an idea. He is not sure if it will work but he decides to give it a try. He reaches into his pocket..

“How about this.. I give you a rare gem I’ve found on my travels for the arrows.” Gleomïr pulls out a mysterious shiny dark object. The stall vendor is overpowered by curiosity and greed. He agrees to the deal and Gleomïr walks off with his goods. He chuckles to himself as he realizes how easy it is to fool people, and how easy it is to make common flint look like a rare gem.

There's powergaming in the bio, defeating the Goblins so easily. Remember that you must always give the other side a chance to fight back in roleplay. Other than that it seems well developed.
