Full Name: Balthazar Hieronymus Leonard Markson Skipper Sebastian Winston Theodore

Current Age: 21.
Sub-race (if any): Nope.
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Balthazar was born to a baker, who was the son of a baker who was the son of a baker. Naturally, he was expected to carry on the tradition. Actually, growing up he was extremely excited. After all, who wouldn't want to be surrounded by sweets and delicious food all day? However, he soon learned that you didn't really get to eat any of the food, and had to do boring stuff like haggle with customers. So, for a while, he lost interest. As a child, he was very well-mannered, which made him lots of friends... With girls. He tended to be shunned by the guys for his non-confrontational nature, though he learned to hide it by his teen years.

Speaking of his teen years, this was when Balthazar's father began to crack down on him. He forced Balthazar into the role of a baker as fast as he could. Life was rather boring up until this point, they being simple folk who only knew the general gist of the law. Balthazar never had an extensive education, he was exclusively trained to be a baker. Of course, he resented it at first, but he actually found that he enjoyed baking quite a bit.

Finally, in his latest years, he has decided that he likes being a baker so much, that he's decided to be the best. So he has set off for the Vale, where he heard Halflings had new, delicious, and interesting baking techniques that could make him better. Any money he finds each month he still sends back to his father, though he did leave with his blessing. His father was proud of Baltahzar's advancement, and was happy of him trying to better himself, but also has made Balthazar swear and oath to come home and take over the bakery in case anything happens to him.

Though Balthazar is still looking for permenant housing in the Vale, he is confident that if he looks long and hard enough, he'll find it. Of course, that optimism won't last for long, so recently he has increasing his searching for a house feverently.

Ambitions for the Future: To become the greatest baker of all time, and to be world-famous.
Personality: Balthazar, as his name would suggest, is rather prissy by human standards. He does all he can to avoid conflict, which is why he fits in with Halflings a great deal. However, despite his avoiding conflict, his close friends know he has a lovable, but slightly dark sense of humor. The main thing seperating him from his neighbors is his delusion that he will become the greatest cook in the lands. He really does enjoy baking all the tiem, he usually simply bakes to forget his troubles. Like his neighbors, he loves a good story, but when he tells them he often can go a bit far, even inserting himself into the stories.
Skills: He is an excellent baker, and not half bad with a frying pan when in a fight. Of course, that never happens.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Balthazar is a rather average-looking man, 6 foot 1 inches, not skinny, but also not quite fat yet. He has long black hair, which he tends to keep under his white hat, yet some still wildly creeps out and goes to mid-back. He wears a long-sleeved wooly light brown shirt, with a leather vest over it. He tucks the shirt in with a simple black belt. He wears pants the same shade of brown as his shirt, and wears leather boots.    2013_03_16_21_11_43.png

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Balthazar, terrified of this strange man, nearly falls over when he spots him. When he notices that the man is going towards the palace, but that there are guards nearby, he freezes up and doesn't know what to do. He lets out a slight stutter, "G-gaurds..." Yet the guards haven't noticed him yet. Then, "Guards! There's a guy in a cloak!" Most of the guards laugh at this strange man, but one of them notices the figure, and runs after him.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: Balthazar, trembling, takes a few steps to the bandits. Suddenly, they turn around, spotting Balthazar. They burst out laughing when they see how much his blade is trembling, and his paltry leather armor. They take a few steps towards Balthazar, in their heavy gear... Suddenly, Balthazar throws the sword at one of their feet in surrender. Someone, in a one in a million chance, the bandit actually trips on it! The other is too dumbfounded by the... Well, dumbness of his compatriot. In a heartbeat Balthazar runs, grabbing the feeble old man's hand as he goes. He hears the screams of the bandits behind him as he keeps running away from the bandits...

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer:  Balthazar perueses the cooking goods that the small man has. He's a bit underwhelmed, to be perfectly honest. There weren't many cooking goods, besides a couple of basic pots and pans. One of them, a seemingly normal travelling cooking pot, caught his eye. It seemed to be lighter than the others, when he picked it up. The shopkeep's face spread into a huge grin, as Balthazar examined it. "Aaaah, I see you have a discerning eye! That right there is a true beauty of cookware." Balthazar looked curiously at him, "What is it? It seems so light." The man replied, "A pot  made of... The finest, purest... Mithril!"
".... What?" The man looked shocked, "You don't know what mithril is!? Why, the lightest, but strongest substance on this planet! That pot wouldn't smash if you hit it with your strongest sword!" Balthazar's eyes widened, "Really?" The man nodded sagely. "All for around 700 minas! Of course, you can negotiate as much as you want." Balthazar's mouth nearly dropped at that price-tag. He was about to exclaim that it was ridiculous, but... Well, he had just enough, and the pot was so light, and high-quality... He'll try to drive the price down a bit. "I'll take it, but for no more than 300 minas!" The merchant rubbed his hands together, "Come now, I have to make a living! 600 minas- Wait, I like you, and it's only a pot I suppose. 500 Minas. I'm sure you will enjoy the pot immensely!" Balthazar accepted this. After he had sold the pot to Balthazar, and Balthazar was walking away, he noticed that the merchant was packing up his stall... It wasn't until he dropped in on the road out of the city that Balthazar noticed the pot... Dented, on the ground. "GRRRAGH!"

Your application has been...

DeniedApplication3V2.png

Hello. After reading through your application, I've decided to deny it for the following reasons:

Whilst your definitions are good, I just wish for you to add some examples to them to show that you fully understand them.

Your name is rather long. Nobody has such a long name, not even royality.

Your biography, outstanding, I had a joy reading through it, however, I wish that you add some more lore to it, to show that you understand the lore.

Your first Open Response Question could use some expanding, it is rather short.

Your seconds Open Response Question could use some dialogue in it along with the actions.

Please re-apply in 24 hours from this post or face instant denial. If you have any questions, pop me a PM!
