Role-playing: Role playing is when you create a character and act, talk and react like your character would have done like if it was in real life.
Meta-gaming: Meta gaming is when you learn something OOC and then use it to your advantage IC. For example, someone tells you on skype that there are some bandits up ahead and you use that information to avoid the bandits.
Power-emoting: Power-emoting is when your character can do overpowered things or when your character does something to another player without his/hers permission. For example: "Stabs player1 in the back and instantly kills him" Or "Steals all of player1's money" But if you write "Tries to stab player1 in the back" then it is not Power-emoting because then the other player have a change to respond to your action.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Alrik Arngrim
Current Age: 21
Sub-race (if any):
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Alrik grew up in a tiny, tiny village with his grandfather. His parents had died by a disease right after he was born, or at least that's what his grandfather told him.  Alrik was the only child in the village except the half year old boy Toki, so although his grandfather was very nice to him, he worked alot and barely had any time for Alrik so he  had a very lonely childhood. When he was really young he would go home to the Svein family who lived next door when his grandfather left to tend to his farm early in the morning. The members of the Svein family were Morlava, her husband Eric and Eric's old mother Valvavo. Valvavo was also very lonely since Morlava and Eric worked most of the day. So she loved it when Alrik came to visit her. But Alrik didn't really like being there, it was incredibly boring. So Alrik usually went exploring in the nearby forest. Here and there he found a burnt down house or two. Alrik told his grandfather about it once, but he became very afraid when he thought about the houses and told Alrik to never go into the forest again. It was dangerous, he said. But that didn't scare Alrik, it just made him even more curious. One day while he was out exploring he found an old house with an intact first floor! Most of the furniture was destroyed except some books. Alrik could not read, so he didn't understand anything of what the books said. Most of them looked boring, but one of them chaught Alriks attention. The book had a many pictures of people with swords in different positions. Alrik looked a bit in the book and quickly realized it was a book about combat! Alrik found a stick and trained some of the easier moves on a nearby tree. That's mostly how Alriks childhood was. He went up early in the morning, went out into the forest to play and hit things with his stick, try to learn himself to read and then he came back home in the evnening. When he grew a little older he had to help his grandfather at the farm, so he didn't have as much time to play as before but he still did sometimes. The years passed and Toki grew older as well so he and Alrik played a little bit, but Alrik was so busy now so he didn't have much time to play. Eventualy he learned to read pretty well from reading the combat book, he even wrote a bit himself a few times. Now that he knew how to read he decided to read the other books. But they very very boring just as Alrik thought and they mostly told how good the harvest had been each year.  Alrik became pretty good at fighting with his stick. He could defend himself in a fight, but would most likely loose if he met a skilled swordsman. Also, he didn't have any "real" combat experiance as the had only fought trees. A few days after his 16th birthday he was outside tending to the farm a usual (His grandfather was getting very old and didn't work much) He went inside to take a break and drink some water. Alriks grandfather sat in a chair sleeping deeply. Alrik decided to wake him up, but when he tried to he didn't get any kind of response from the old man. Alrik quickly realized that his grandfather wasn't breathing! He shook him and yelled, but to no avail. Alrik realized that he was dead and sat down on the floor, crying. Alrik fell asleep in the middle of his sorrow and woke up the next morning being very confused. He was still a bit shocked but when he turned around and saw his grandfathers corpse he quickly came to his senses. He didn't feel sad, he just felt empty. Alrik went outside to inform the rest of the village about what had happened. They had a funeral the next day. Alrik said goodbye to his grandfather before they buried him deep in the ground. He wondered to himself why he wasn't sad, but he could not find a good answer for that. Nothing special happened during the five more years he spent in the village, except one thing. Three years after his grandfathers death Alrik looked around his grandfathers stuff. Being a good reader he read most of the journal and found out a horrific secret. The village had been much larger when he was born. The village had been attacked by a small clan of orcs and his parents had been killed in the attack. The orcs burned and looted most of the houses and killed all of the villagers except a few who managed to hide. Some of the remaining villagers moved away to begin new lifes while some stayed and began to rebuild the village. At first Alrik became furious at his grandfather for not telling him this, but then he realized that his grandfather probably didn't because he wanted to spare Alrik the pain of knowing the village and his parents true fate. From that day on Alriks life never was the same again. He was a much less lively person and always dreamed of going out to see the world. He stayed in the village for two more years, but then he decided to leave the village forever. He said goodbye to all the villagers. He barely knew any of them except Toki. He felt a little bit sad to part with Toki, but he still didn't want to stay. Sadly, Toki will most likely have an childhood as lonely as mine was, but maybe he will get a better life as an adult, Alrik thought to himself. Alrik didn't know what awaited him. He thought to himself that he probably would travel the world, or just find a much nicer, happier place and settle down as a simple farmer. So now Alrik, a 21 years old, medium long, pretty strong, brown haired and blue eyed man left his whole home village behind with no idea at all how his future would look like. But he never ever looked back....
Ambitions for the Future: To see to world, adventure or maybe just find a nice place to live in.
Personality: Pretty smart, creative, kind, friendly, trusting (except for orcs) quick learner.
Skills: Great farmer, okay fighter, okay lumberjack, unskilled miner.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): (i attached it)
Any other details you wish to share about your character: Never seeing an orc in his childhood and only hearing that they are brutal monsters who slaughtered most of his village, Alrik has alot of distrust for Orcs. But perhaps in time he will learn that not ALL Orcs are bad.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer:Realizing that the mysterious character is probably going to steal something from the palace, or even murder the emperor, Alrik starts thinking about what to do. Alrik runs up to the figure screaming MURDERER! MURDERER! to get the guards attention. The stranger turns around and looks at Alrik with a face filled with hate and anger. Alrik was planning on trying to knock the strange person down, but stops as he sees the figure professionaly pulling out a sharp looking knife out of his belt. Realizing this foe is way to skilled for him Alrik looks behind him. The guards still haven't reached him and the mysterious figure. When Alrik looks in front of him again the mysterious figure has already started running. Alrik picks up a nearby rock and throws it at the dark figure and it hits, right in the head! The guards runs up to and manage capture the dark figure. The guards thanks Alrik with a bag of minas and says that he might have saved someones life. Satisfied with himself Alrik decides to go and buy himself  a drink for some of the money.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: Being lightly armed Alrik hides behind a tree to listen to what's going on. After a minute of listening Alrik realizes that the two bandits are not just threatening but really intend to kill the poor old man if he don't give them anything of value. The man keeps saying that he is very poor and doesn't have anything of value but the bandits just won't belive him. Alrik sneaks up to the bandits from behind and stabs one of them in the back with all his strenght, resulting in the man falling down on the ground, dead. The other bandit gets a bit shocked but swings his sword at Alrik faster than Alrik thought he would. Alrik jumps away to avoid the attack and then starts running, but he trips on a root. Alrik fills his hand with dirt and pebbles an throws it in the attackers face. The dirt and pebbles hits the man in the eyes, blinding him. Alrik runs back to the other bandits corpse and tries to drag out his blade of the bandits body. The old man is still standing in the same place, to scared to move. Altough Alrik drags with all his strenght he gets the sword out too slow and the bandit knocks him to the ground. But luckily the old man snaps out of his state of shock and stabs the bandit in the back. It doesen't kill him, but it gives Alrik the time to stand up and finish what the old man started by chopping of the bandits head. The old man thanks Alrik and asks if he want to stay and eat with him. Alrik who is quite hungry gladly accepts the offer and follows the old man into his cottage.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: Alriks first thought is to find another shop with set prices, that would make this purchase go alot faster. But then he understands how much minas he might be able to save, so he decides to see how good the little man is at haggling. Alrik greets the man and asks what the most valuable item that's for sale is. The little man answers Alrik with a big grin that the most valuable thing he has for sale is a diamond sword he found. Alrik asks if he can buy it for 100 minas (half of what the nearby smith would sell it for) The little man gives Alrik a dry look and says that he's no fool and demand 180 minas for it. Alrik says he won't go any higher than 100 minas and the little man lower the price to 150. Alrik suggests that the pays 120 and the man answers lowering the price again to 130. Alrik says he won't pay a single minas more than 120. Then find someone else to buy a sword from then, the man yells. Alrik gives up and says that 125 minas is his final offer. The littlle man seems satisfied enough with that answer and sells the sword to Alrik. Alrik then walks away to find someone to sell the sword to for alot more than 125 minas.

Under Review

DeniedApplication3V2.png

Please wait a full 24-hours before reapplying or you will face an instant denial.

Reasons:

1. Your biography contains no server lore. Please read up on the lore here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=HomePage

then add some of it into your biography.

2. This isn't anything major, but please split up your application into paragraphs. It's much, much better than having to read a wall of text.

3. Your character's parents were killed by orcs. This is a cliche on LoTC, so please think of something... more original.

4. There are bouts of powergaming in your second open response question. For someone who, as you said in your biography, " Alrik became pretty good at fighting with his stick. He could defend himself in a fight, but would most likely loose if he met a skilled swordsman. Also, he didn't have any "real" combat experiance as the had only fought trees." would be able to kill two heavily armoured bandits  with not that much skill seems unlikely. The bandits also never get a hit on you; it is only them getting stabbed, killed, etc.

5. There were some grammar and spelling errors in this application. Please try your best to fix this. You may use a program such as word to help you.

Message me if you have any questions or if you need any help!
