Server Rules

Roleplay Rules

• Excessive use of out of character chat (in Local OOC) is not permitted, use /tell instead.
• »Speaking in OOC without OOC indicators is prohibited.
• »No use of 1337 speak in-character – try to speak in proper grammar out-of-character also. You must keep in character at all times.
• »To play as an evil or villainous character you must first prove your RP prowess and post a Villain Application following the guidelines found on the forums here. You may NOT commit any villainous acts such as stealing (in regioned areas) or murder. Please read the Villain Rules in the Villain App section of the forums.
• »Using soulstones to escape combat or arrest is not permitted.
• »No power-gaming or meta-gaming will be tolerated [this includes unapproved use of RP magic].
• »No Metagaming – using OOC information IC.
• »You must use appropriate skins for your character and race.
• »No descriptive cybering of any kind is tolerated, however *fade to black* is allowed. Rape in all forms, descriptive or *fade to black* is perma-bannable. Foreplay is also not permitted, nor is discussing the sexual actions afterwards.
• »Using soulstones to escape combat or arrest is not permitted.
• »Using soulstones to avoid roleplay is not permitted.
• »Bestiality, necrophilia or pedophilia of any kind is not permitted.
• »Strong sexual innuendos are not permitted.

Out Of Character Rules
These rules apply to all areas of the server, including the forums, in-game/server and TeamSpeak (if applicable).

• »No racial discrimination or racist remarks. RP racism towards other in-game races is acceptable.
• »Attempting to find and/or share personal information of other members of the community of staff against their knowledge or will is bannable
• »FTB interactions are not permitted at or near spawn
• »No spamming of any chats
• »No sharing accounts, or account information.
• »No cursing in OOC chat – Cursing in RP is allowed but must be tasteful, fit the RP, and be period appropriate.
• »No use of hacked or modified clients that give you an unfair advantage such as X-raying and Flying – exclusions to this are things such as “Rei’s Minimap” and “More Player Models”.
• »Your username must not be inappropriate – players with inappropriate usernames will not be permitted access onto the server.
• »The abuse of bugs for your betterment will get you banned, this includes block jumping and abusing mob-spawners (e.g. mob-traps).
• »You may not disrespect any member of the community or staff. Constructive criticism is acceptable, but must be presented in an organized and mature way.
• »Having knowledge of a banned player having an alternate account on the server, or being aware of a major breach of rules and not reporting it is punishable.
• »Bypassing existing bans by playing on alternate accounts is not permitted.
• »Withholding evidence in relation to a breach of the rules is not permitted.
• »Blackmailing and bribing other players OOC’ly is severely punished.
• »If you have any complaints, queries or would like to report misconduct, you can do so via the forums or emailing [email protected]
• »A forum account is required for registration and to be permitted to play on the server. It is recommended that you check the forums often, as news is posted on them.
• »Accessing the Minecraft or TeamSpeak server behind a proxy, VPN or any other IP masking system without the express permission of staff will result in a permanent ban.

Landscape and Building Rules

• »You must not destroy or damage a structure made by another player without their consent (griefing)
• »No world graffiti or vandalism
• »No destroying of the worlds landscape or beauty – we reserve the right to remove ugly structures that do not fit in with the world without warning (warnings will usually be given beforehand).
• »Buildings must adhere to the structural architecture of the area, if you are designing a new structure it must look functional and attractive. Buildings that block paths, destroy the atmosphere, serve no purpose or are an eyesore will be removed after a warning.
• »Destroying buildings for no reason, out of rp and not in War is a bannable offense.

Player Versus Player Rules

• »You may not PVP another player without them being aware of PVP being about to occur – both parties must agree to PVP. If one party does not agree, fighting defaults to a RP fight.
• » Using soulstones to escape combat or arrest is not permitted.

Rules of War

• »No returning after death. When you die, you lose ~30 minutes of memory. You also can not return to the spot you died for ~30 minutes unless it is your home
• »There are three types of war, Skirmish. Pillage & Seige. To Participate in these you must tell your enemy your terms 1 day minimum in advance.
• »If you have recently taken place in an attack on a village or town you are to not return to that settlement looking for a fight until 3 actual days have passed. (72 hours)
• »A Faction or Guild can only attack a City or nation once every 4 actual days. (96 hours)
• »If a Nation wishes to wage war on another nation, they must wait a week between attacks. (168 hours)
• »This includes guilds / factions allied with attacking nation.

Settlement and Land Use Laws

• »Nation Leaders are permitted to decide on the creation of settlements upon their land – the server staff shall provide guidance.
• »Permission must be granted by a Nation Leader in order for the settlement to be regioned.
• »It is advisable to take screenshots of the exchange as documented proof.

Kingdom Laws
These Laws only apply to specific Kingdoms. You should check the Kingdom’s own laws before following the ones listed below:

• »Theft is a punishable offense
• »Unlawful murder is a punishable offense
• »Unlawful destruction of property is a punishable offense
• »Combat/fighting within city limits (excluding pre-approved gladiatorial arenas) is a punishable offense
• »Excessive harassment is a fineable offense (in certain conditions the harasses party may demand satisfaction in single combat). Repeated harassment is a punishable offense

The Wilds

By entering the Wilds you agree to adhere, and that you understand the following rules.

1. 1. The Wilds is a free for all state, some consideration does apply.
   •             1a. If you declare war, the other person has to be online to defend. This includes ripping down homes, property, destruction of farms, and massive slaughtering of animals.
2. 2. No, you cannot have regions.
3. 3. Region ruins cannot be taken over, for they are part of Anthos the event team and are ment to be explored. You may or may not be eaten by dragons doing so.
4. 4. You can build homes, guilds, and structures in the wilds.
   •             4a. You can claim land that is reasonable. Walling off large areas can result in bans or being torn down.
     Guide: This is just a guideline - you may do larger but if excessive, fencing and walls can and will be removed. 
     For each player in a group 5x5 width and length. You how ever may build 2-3 story buildings easily, or basements.
                             1 Player 10 x 10
                             2 Players 15 x 15
                             5 players 35 x 35
   •             4b. Any structure defacing, and/or considered land scarring will and can be removed at anytime without notification.
5. 5. SOME Villainous acts can be done in the wilds without the required VA.
   •             5a.You may ONLY do the following in the wilds without a VA. Steal, lock-picking chests and doors.
   •             5b.You may steal up to 50% of unlocked chests, be reasonable... 25% of Locked Chests.

Bailing mid RP using MC mechanics, without any emote depicting you running, enables PVP. RP logic does not apply.

It's been like this since...well, probably since the start of the server when we were more liberal with PVP.

 

Don't run from roleplay with MC mechanics and you won't die by MC mechanics. Simple as.

This does not mean that people can kill you out of the blue while you're walking along the road, however, if someone yells "Halt", or "Stop right there" or some such, and you walk away without emoting, or if you more simply attempt to run off from an RP combat session, you open yourself up to PvP. Since this seems to be an issue between the two of you, please remember to keep things civil should the argument continue, although these are the rules as stated. Feel free to voice any further questions or concerns.

Not every single rule is listed in the server rules. As irking as it seems, that's just the way things are.

Yes, you do have the option to back out of the RP. But it does not mean that you should abuse it. The option is meant to walk away from potentially unenjoyable RP and not because things aren't going your way RPly, or if you're losing.

Yeah i tried to opt out of an rp because i though there was no way men in heavy armor could chase down a man in walking clothes who started 100 blocks from them. It took all the enjoyment out of it for me because I like realism, well I will see.

It is a well known rule and to be fair it does keep people from running away without consequence.
