The Battle For The Unnamed Fort

The hot desert winds raged with torment, blowing up clouds of dust through the easternmost edges of the Orcish desert, which pressed against the roaring oceans. The clouds created by the winds stung the eyes of the soldiers who stood in the midst of it; the Men of Blackmont and their enemies, the Uruks of San'Orka. Though visibility was low, through the dust could be seen an empty fortress.

Through this hell of dust and sand, the two armies waited. The empty fortress near stood as a lone peak in the dark sky, unwavering. Soon, though, the skies began to clear. The armies could begin to see hints of sunlight breaking through the dust, and soon, the great cloud of sand was behind them, allowing them to see each other through the distance. Both armies shone in the great desert sunlight, which now blazed upon them. The Orcs roared, and then Men of Blackmont gave their war-cries.

Not long after, slender arrows whizzed through the air from both sides, some embedding themselves into targets, and others just falling into the sand. Volleys went back and forth, until the stores of arrows depleted. In the heat of battle, the two armies charged towards each other, screaming in fury. By the time they met, both armies were under the foot of the small, empty fortress.

The screams of war died down into screams of death as swords, shields, and spears met. Metal rang through the air, as the two armies collided. Many man and Orc passed out of this life, but still others wore on. By the time the front lines were defeated, most of both armies had fallen as well. It was obvious, however, that the Orcs were gaining power over the Men of Blackmont. Slowly, but surely, the men were driven southward, away from the empty fortress. Over dunes they were pressed, until they were surrounded and slaughtered by the oncoming Orcs.

Blood puddled along the sands of the desert, as Orcs claimed victory over the defense of their land, and of their unnamed fortress. The bodies of the Men of Blackmont were looted by the Uruks, who gained several needed supplies. As night fell, most of the bodies were plundered, and had no armour on them.

The Orcs had won, reigning victorious over the men who had tried to steal their land.
