Extreme Lag No Matter What I Do.

Hello. Not a long time ago I've gained access to the server, but from the moment I entered, I experienced extreme lag (Getting hit by mobs but can't deal damage to them, can't open chests, chat delay)

You're not the only one facing this problem. Most of the players are experiencing it. It's not your fault. The reason behind the lag is because the server upgraded to 1.5 too early, and we're on a pretty unstable Bukkit.

 

Hopefully some frequent server restarts should solve the problem. I ask that you be patient and ride out the storm until it can be fixed.

The community is what makes this server great, and that sense of knowing that people respect your opinion after weeks of playing and chatting with them is something few servers have.

 

Get involved basically, join a guild or something, or be a tavernkeep where you dont have to move too much. Making a goblin character will open up working for Toveah Goldman. He usually hires Goblins for work moving items, or him.

I never said anything about leaving the server. I've finally found a decent RP server, I'm not going to give up on it!

I have to say I haven't experienced any significant lag while on the server. Are you sure it's not something wrong at your end (someone else using the bandwidth, for example?)?

I'm not quite sure. Even if no one is using the bandwidth, I experience lag in this server. It's only my advice, but I think you should change back to 1.4.7 or something, so it'd be more stable. By the way, I tried to install Game Booster, I tried to delete files I don't need, but nothing helped.

I don't know what is - I'm certainly not experiencing any kind of terrible lag. I believe it's a problem on their end, not ours.

It is a mixture. I think for most of the players it might be due to their computers, but then also the amount of bandwidth they have. But also at certain times of the day the lag is rather bad. I think it is mainly don't to your end.

My internet is terrible..and while I do experience very bad lag sometimes (problems my end) it isn't always there and most of the time I have a decent ping..(around 100-300 which for me is good)

I only have lag when i am on my laptop. If I play on both, the laptop is horribly laggy while my desktop is perfectly fine. It might be the computer itself honestly. The only time my desktop is laggy is if there is a LOT of people around -or- I am in malinor...

I am more than certain that this does not have to do with the LotC servers.

 

As has been said before, it may be your bandwidth and/or computer, unfortunately. Try OptiFine to fix these problems and setting Minecraft to low settings.

I, oddly enough, only get issues in Malinor. I have a brand new gaming PC with fantastic specs and my internet is very fair. I can usually run max settings with normal-far render distance and still get 80+ FPS, but I suffer massive lag spikes whenever I even think about stepping near Malinor without my settings down.
