Minecraft Account Name: matthew199876312
How old are you?: 14

Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, I have read the lore on the Wiki and I have also read the rules on Malinor and the terms of the merge of Haelun'or and Malinor.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Using a character that you have either thought up or is from something specific (e.g: Anime or books.) where you become that person and make decisions, doing things in the mind set of the character. If it is your own character you can design their own appearance and personality which you believe will fit what intentions you have for the character.
Meta-gaming: It is where you do something OOC that will potentially affect the RP; if your friend is in a battle but you don't know their location in-game and there is no-one that is aware of their location, you ask your friend in chat, whether it is on Skype, Facebook or any other messenger, (except an accepted in-game one) where their location is OOC. This effects the RP because there is no evidence of how you figured out about this battle.

Power-emoting: Preforming an action in RP that doesn't give the participant a chance to contest, this is very common in RP battling. For example; *Hits you over the head with a mace doesn't miss and you die.* The person or people in the battle are not given the chance to prevent the action therefore it becomes unfair and can often lead to arguments.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Ker'vuln
Current Age: 18
Sub-race (if any): Wood Elf
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Ker'vuln was born without any knowledge of his heritage, only that he was a wood elf, all that is known about his birth that he was abandoned in the wilderness, leaving his fate in the hands of the Gods. He would have died in that very forest, whether it was by; animals, extreme weather or a natural disaster, his chance of survival were thin. But from a twist of fate, he was found by a hunter, looking for skins and meat in the forest.

This kind hunter took him in, the hunter is a human by the name of John. His last name always stayed anonymous, he said he didn't want past problems to find him again, he wanted a fresh start. John raised Ker'vuln like a son, he taught him everything he knew. John taught him how to hunt and live off the forest, naturally Ker'vuln had a talent for hunting, John always told him is was a born talent for most wood elves. They lived together in a small house in Salvus, it was very peaceful for Ker'vuln and even though they were two different races, they had a very clear bond between them.

As Ker'vuln became older he understood things more clearly, he understood why he wasn't accepted as much as the others. As he grew up it became more clear to the residents of Salvus that he wasn't human like everyone else, his genetic traits began to show, the main ones being that he was a bit taller then everyone else and he had pointy ears which other kids would make fun of. When people found out what Ker'vuln was, rumors spread, assumptions were made and Ker'vuln was ultimately alienated from everyone.

For once time didn't heal, although people now accepted the fact that Ker'vuln wasn't going to leave for a while, the hate towards him continued, in some instances it got very bad. Thankfully the very basic self defense training John taught him helped him to hold his own against kids that didn't like the fact he was different. But it wasn't the hate towards him that made him angry, because he could take it, nothing really in the form of words would ever directly hurt him.

It was the things people did to John. around this time Ker'vuln was about thirteen years of age and John was just entering his fifties. People still didn't accept Ker'vuln in Salvus and instead of continuing to pressure him out with harsh words and abuse they started targeting John. John was getting older and weaker, Ker'vuln hated himself for a long period of time because he believed that he was a burden on John, that people were torturing John just because of his presence, this is what affected Ker'vuln the most.

This process went on for three years, until one day Ker'vuln told John that he didn't want to burden him any longer, he explained that he was old enough to return to the wilderness and survive how he had been taught. John accepted the fact that Ker'vuln wanted to leave and didn't try to stop him, Ker'vuln never questioned John about why he let him leave. Even to this very day he asks himself why John let him leave without a fight, but in the end he had got what he had hoped for. After sixteen years of agony for them, John could finally live a peaceful life again.

Ker'vuln spent two years in the wilderness, often jumping from towns to sell the things he had caught and buy things that he needed; often blades and new clothes. This was a common yet boring process for Ker'vuln, he wanted: adventure, purpose. After the two years, Ker'vuln at eighteen years of age met a person that cannot be described in words. His name is Smoke, he saw him sleeping in one of the trees near to his camp. Ker'vuln being the accepting person he is befriended Smoke, who later told Ker'vuln that he was the High MageShadow for the Arcane Delvers. Ker'vuln and Smoke quickly became close friends and made a strong bond of friendship together.

Ambitions for the Future:

Smoke told me his stories of great peril and adventure which lead me to have great thoughts and ambitions. I want to become a greater person so that I can one day tell stories to people and encourage them to do great things, when I decided I would pursue a life of adventure, I set out to join a group of people that will help me make my life exiting and full of adventure.

If possible I want to find my roots and find out about my untold path. I want to find a place that would accept me for who I am, a place where I could be myself and help raise them to glory, while also gaining experience and knowledge that will help me to achieve my goal. I want to uncover my past while also shaping my future.

I want to be taught how to fight properly, although I have basic fighting training given to me by my adopted father, I still have much to learn if I want to chase my goal and become a great adventurer. I have very little strength and although I may be nimble I can easily be defeated especially by someone with immense strength.

To make friends that will help me to develop me into a warrior, to help train me to become stronger then my enemies and help me to learn how to use my weapons and skill effectively to be developed into a feared and respected person.

Personality:

Ker'vuln is a Pragmatic Hero, he will do anything for the greater good, although will not often disobey orders from someone that he respects or is in a higher rank than him because he has faith in their decisions. This also gives him to have the alignment of Chaotic-Good, he always does things in good intention but doesn't often do it in the most civil way and will sometimes create conflict if he believes it is necessary.

Since he was neglected most of his life he tends not to trust many strangers, but easily makes friends. Unlike most he doesn't seem to have grown bitter from his neglect as a child, rather he has greater friendship ties with people. Although he has greater ties of friendship with people, often when he gets betrayed by a friend or ally it can  end up with him questioning and doubting himself, causing him to loose confidence in himself.

He isn't a very rude person, his father always taught him to be polite because as a wood elf the slightest bit of rudeness may cost him his life, he took this to heart and very rarely insults people. Although he doesn't insult people in seriousness, he is very jester-like and will often put on scenes or do something very comedic and in certain circumstances very idiotic. Although this is useful for making friends with people or breaking tension, it can also make people underestimate him and not trust him in important circumstances.

He doesn't like people that are snobby, people that act like they are better than everyone else, he often gets very angry when someone tries to show that they are more important than everyone. People that verbally state that they are better than him because he is a wood elf are one of the few things that can make him very angry and has often gotten him into arguments. His anger is normally uncontrolled and random, making it easy for someone with good fight experience to easy defeat him.

Skills:

Because he was raised by a hunter and he is a born wood elf, he has a good understanding of the wilderness and hunting. Though because his father was old and wasn't the most experienced hunter, he couldn't show Ker'vuln a lot of the advanced hunting tactics like which weapons work on different animals or different techniques that will help catch animals.

Very basic training in fighting, he knows how to use a bow and a dagger, but any other weapon besides that is almost useless when wielded by him, he tends to do well when there is less pressure on him or when he isn't the center of attack, because of this he prefers a stealthy approach to things.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer:

I walk through the forest carefully, I know better than most what these trees hide. As I walk through the forest I begin to hear sounds of laughter, as I get closer I begin to realize that the laughter is not in a joyful manner, rather it was a spiteful snicker.

As I walk up toward the area, I clear a patch of leaves that block my vision and I see a group of older elves mocking a small elven child for not being tall enough, I see the small elf desperately try to jump high enough to reach a toy in the hands of one of the tall elves, who insultingly kept bringing the toy up and down almost to give the child hope.

"What do you think you are doing?" I said as he snatched the toy from behind the older elf's back.

"Just having some fun." The elf snickered in a rebellious manner.

"Shouldn't you be doing something productive" I said in a emotionless way, "Instead of torturing this child?"

"Fine, I get it, we will leave but we wont be so friendly next time." The tall elf pushed me one side and signaled for his friends to follow him.

I sighed, I knew that kids can be arrogant and I know they are no real threat because they wouldn't try anything, one thing my father taught me is that the strongest men talk the least. I walked over to the young boy, I came down on my knee at level with him and gave him his toy.

"Thank you" The boy said in a happy voice.

I stood up and patted the kid on the head, "Don't mention it." I let out a slight grin; the beginning of a smile and walked away.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:

I walked through the forests, I was tried and it was long day. I have been following the path for some time now and I can't seem to find my camp, I know it leads there though, it just feels long and tiring. I continue to walk down the path until I see someone on the horizon, at first I thought nothing of it, many people walk these paths and it isn't wise to challenge a elf in the woods, so I didn't feel threatened.

As the figure gets closer I notice that it is an old man with a walking stick struggling to walk, at first I felt sympathy for him, but suddenly he collapsed to the ground with no warning and a sum of gold spills across the road.

"Hey!" I rush over to the mans aid trying hard not to trip on any rocks. "Are you alright?"

"I need to rest." Was all I could decipher from the old mans sickly voice.

"Don't worry," I told the man reassuringly, "You are in good hands."

After a few minutes I manage to pick up the mans coins and carry him back to my camp painfully, I already have pains from the day, having to take this man was just a little overboard for my body. I manage to bring him back to my camp and after I tend to any minor injuries he has, I let him have some rest.

In the morning he wakes up in a confused manner, shocked to see a wood elf in front of him.

"Who are you?" Asked the man who seemed quite puzzled with the whole scenario.

"You collapsed on the road," I explained, "My name is Ker'vuln, I live out in these woods."

"I collapsed?" He seemed quite shocked to hear that, "How did I end up here then?"

"I found you, you fell before me and all your golds spilled out, I collected it up and carried you back here to safety where you could regain your strength."

At first he seemed lost for words, but then he seemed troubled, like something was bothering him.

"Whats the matter?" I asked.

"Well its just," He stuttered, "Why did you help me? You are an elf and I am a human, you have the right to hate me just based on that."

I stood up from the log I was sitting and look him with a happy smile. "I don't care about race, being a certain race doesn't change who you are on the inside, you are innocent and I will never leave an innocent man to be killed."

The mans face filled with shock and disbelief.

I continued, "The nearest town is only a few minutes away from here, just follow the dirt path."

"How can I pay you for your actions?" The man asked vigorously.

"I will accept no reward, I did only what any honest person would do."

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer:

I walk through the woodlands like any other day, except today I saw a small clearing in the woods, curious to find out what was behind them, I walk through and see a trader noticeably full of joy. His carriages were very colorful, I approached them to meet the trader who seemed eager to trade with me. Being the hunter that I am, I jumped on the idea of trading out here instead of going into the towns, it saves me a lot of walking and hassle.

"Good morning." I said to the trader happily.

"Ah, good day my boy!" He said ecstatically, "Have you come to browse my wares?"

"Why yes, friend, I would like to know what you sell in these carriages."

"I sell just about anything here! I also buy anything, so if you have any unwanted good I will be happy to negotiate a price for them."

"Well you see," I explained, "I am a hunter."

Before I had a chance to finish he interrupted me with a deal, "Ah well, I have just the thing for you my boy!" He said, showing me an exquisite knife.

Startled at the sight of it, "How much?" I asked swiftly.

"I will let you take it off my hands for... one-hundred gold."

It wasn't the price I was hoping for but it was a fair one at least, "You drive a hard bargain," I said, "Will you be willing to swap it for these expertly skinned furs and freshly cut meat?" I exaggerated.

"A fine swap indeed, with those I will reduce the price to... twenty gold pieces!"

"Perfect." I said as a handed over my goods and coin and received a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

I walked away from the carriages and made my way back to my camp with my new blade.

Welcome to Lord of the Craft! Congratulations!

This application was a very interesting and well written piece of work which combined many good aspects to create this application. You applied a lot of effort to your application which also made this application at an acceptable standard. It was also clear that you could Role Play with your character as you made that present with your Open-Response-Questions.

Well done!

Please wait patiently for a GM/Admin to White-List you!
