Avacyn 1712 Share Posted May 5, 2013 If one were quite confident in their fighting skills and their own safety, they might make the usually most unwise decision of taking a stroll down at the dim docks of Abresi. It is a dirty place, that is undeniable. Walking through the gate, one would see Toveah Goldman's former employees unloading goods from his warehouse to take who-knows-where. Continuing on, You'll see merchants crouched behind their stalls, selling the morning's fresh catch: the bottom-feeding fish from the bay, or perhaps a well-roasted rat. Passing by the stalls, you go by the Shag 'N Gag brothel. Outside, women wait, beckoning you onward, inviting you in, for that is their profession. Best not to meddle with them, you'll get quite sick. Off in the distance, you'll see the mysterious Fisherman's Fantasy, addressed 666. But... something else catches your eye. A gate along the road. Ah, yes, the clinic of the... well, not so esteemed Doctor Ludivic. You've probably never heard of him. He likes it that way. Your curiosity gets the best of you, and you decide to go through the gate. You step up the crumbling stone stairs, a bit of rock giving way under your foot. You see a wall, blocking off anyone who would try and take a shortcut through the rocks to the clinic, and you also see a small overhang connecting the clinic itself to one of the huge, stone pillars supporting the large cliff. The windows are all boarded up. A dim light barely seeps through the cracks. The sign says "Open", but you begin to doubt that. Another sign right above the door confirms that this is indeed the clinic. It's really not best to take a look inside, but you do so anyways. What was that thing that killed the cat? Inside, you see shelves along the walls, all dusty with cobwebs in the corners. A plethora of odds and ends line the shelves, ranging from skulls and bones to floating organs in jars. A strange-looking rat is kept in a glass case. It looks quite sickly. Herbs lie on the shelves, tied in bundles, giving the room an aroma of freshness, though it is anything but. You turn to your left to look at the counter. The small wooden gate has been left open, so the Doctor must be In. Though unless you are sick or are going to be operated on, you won't go behind this counter... unfortunately you really are of the curious type and so you slide under the gate and over the counter. Before you stands a rickety old mechanical lift, the oldest part of the building. It stayed after all the renovations had been completed. It is a relic of the men who used to own the building, the VonShlichtenCo, and perhaps one of the only pieces of their machinery left on Anthos. Opening the doors, you take a step inside, pulling the "Floor Two" lever. The gears in the lift begin to click, grind, and whir, and the floor slowly begins to move upwards. It finally comes to a stop, and you open the doors to Floor Two. A waiting room of sorts. Two wooden benches are set against the wall. A stone wall divides the floor in half, a wooden door the only way to the other side. You're lucky the doors have been left unlocked today. Lady Luck seems to be on your side... You grasp the handle, turning it, and opening the door, stepping into the next room. The Operating Room. Three stone tables are set down. Two have a bit of red tint, from surgeries long past, but the third looks brand-new. A ladder leads up to the third floor. You turn to face another set of doors. You simply push through, stepping into what seems to be the small overhang you saw outside, that connected the clinic to the stone pillar. You stare down the tunnel. The tunnel looks old and decrepit. Moss creeps across the old stone handiwork, with a few bits of cobble fallen onto the ground from age. The tunnel looks like it winds downwards. Something sets you off edge... an echo resonates down from the depths of the cave. A scream? You can't be sure. You decide not go down. Oh, it seems you've made the first smart choice of the day. You turn around, head back to the operating room, climb the ladder, and poke your head up into what seems to be the attic. You look through a gap in the stone wall, into a small bedroom. A mattress lays on the floor, with pink-and-white bedsheets, decorated with images of cute baby animals. A child's doll lays on the floor, next to a- oh dear. A pool of sticky blood. Your face goes white, hands trembling. You go through the door, into the room. Your heart beats faster and faster as you see the plate lying on the floor, a few cookies left. Some have bites left in them. You look out the attic window, a glum, gloomy view onto the docks. You have to get out of here. You should have never come in here. A hand is placed on your shoulder. You would turn around, but it's too late. He's already here. You should have left sooner. The feel of cold steel on your neck, then an embrace of warmth... then nothing.

iseemoosego 97 Share Posted May 5, 2013 (( This reminded me of legends of the Hidden Temple)) Torrah remembers the time she was with the doctor. The poisoned cookie then the paralysis potion. Luckily many people were at the ball including her dad, Alan. Nienna Calm also helped by telling her grandfather of the situation. Torrah imagines what would happen if no one saw, if no one stopped the man, how she would die.
