We lead a simple life, tending to the occasional traveler and explorer. When I was 13 years old, I was woken in the middle of the night by my mother screaming for my father. A man who had often stayed at our inn was bloodied and ragged, telling my mother and father to lock all the doors and board the windows. After a few hours, he calmed down and he told us his story. He had been exploring along the coast, when he saw a great fleet of ships sailing for the horizon to the south. He said they bore the crest of a place called Aegis. He marveled at the ships until they disappeared over the horizon. He skipped on to when he was attacked. The “ Bohras” as he called them, disgusting savage creatures, half boar and half human, attacked him on his wayto our inn, not far from the ocean. He was wounded, but able to fight them off long enough to make it too our inn. His emotions were getting the best of him and my mother put him and I to bed. I awoke to the sound of my mother calling for me down stairs, and a horrible grunting/scratching noise came from outside our inn. My mother shoved two loaves of bread into my arms, and pushed me into the wellpit below our kitchen. She told me to runa s fast as I could. . After escaping the inn, i climbed out of the well, about 100 yards from the inn, and saw horrible creatures breaking in the door, and setting fire to the inn. I ran as fast as I could to the south. 5 long hard years later, I came upon the crossing of the mountains; i was confronted with my greatest task. After numerous confrontations with the Bohra, i realized i must move on from the wasteland around the mountains where I had been living for years, and resolved to travel south. After moving even farther south, i came upon a great sea, and an icy forest. I decided that crossing the sea was a better idea than taking my chances with the Bohra and remembered the story of the man who died with my parents, great ships traveling toward the horizon. That will be my goal, to find those people. After the canoe was thrown together, i ventured out into the great sea, with the idea that any land would be better than the icy wasteland from which i had come. Before knew it, a swift wind and rough sea started and my canoe was tattered and destroyed. Although i had learned to swim as a boy, i was quickly overpowered and sucked under. When i awoke, i was face down in the sand, in the middle of the night, and was happy to be alive. I had arrived in the land of Anthos. Ambitions for the Future: To become an explorer for a generous nation Personality: Loud but intelligent, i tend to consider options thouroughly before making decisions, i am good with people, and have resoolved to always do the right thing. Skills: Wilderness survival, creativity, brute strength, moderate-high intelligence Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): ragged and weather beaten http://www.minecraftskins.com/skin/1430827/survivalist/ (the file could not be uploaded) Any other details you wish to share about your character: unusually tall, but thin, naturally pale skin, I have a Commanding composure, but I am very patient.Open-Response-QuestionsEach question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what doyou do? Answer: I walk toward the figure and shout, “ Sir! Stop!” The figure turns and flees, “Guards, Stop him!” I yell. I run after the figure, as he begins to run down an alley. I realize I could cut him off if I use a short cut, utilizing my knowledge of the city layout. “Guards, stay on his tail!” I turn to run down a perpendicular alley, ducking under cloth lines and vaulting over a low wall, landing on top of the hooded figure. Gold spills across the street and a dagger clatters to the ground. “Guards, arrest this man, I recognize the dagger as an assassins.” The assassin responds, “you scum, you haven’t heard the last of us!” as the guards lead him away. A third guard turns to me and thanks me for my help, “ Thank you citizen for all you have done” I respond, “ Anything for the empire and the emperor” Now I must remember to watch my back, they may come for me next… 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: I confidently stride into the view of the bandits, “Leave here vermin, and never return, lest you taste my blade.” The bandits turn to face me and decide not to risk fighting a large imposing stranger, “We won’t spill your blood here today, but rest assured, we will be back” and spit on the ground in my direction, before melting back into the woods. “Dear sir, what could they have possibly wanted with you way out here?” The old man sits on a stump outside his doorstep and sighs, “There is a rumor going around that I have a vast fortune in gold, from my days as a tax collector for the king.” “I was accused of stealing from him, and I was out casted to here.” He looked at the ground, clearly ashamed and placed his hands over his face. I took pity and said, “ Sir, when I reach the next city, I will make sure the proper authorities know about these wild bandits, they will be taken care of. Also, I will check up on you from time to time when I pass this way, never be afraid of them, but get a good sturdy lock for your door.” “Good day” I walk away from the house, in the direction of the nearest city to report the bandits.3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggleand choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I see that the merchant has items that could be useful to my journey as an explorer for the king, but I must be cautious, my purse is light. “Hello Merchant, how are you on this fine day? I am here to purchase some wares, at the right price, of course” he responds, “Well if we can agree on a price, the item is yours.” I nod my head in a agreement and carefully examine a compass he has, that was hanging along with other novelty items, and discover that it is extremely valuable. “How much for this compass sir?” he responds, “oh that old thing? I’ve never had an offer on it; I can’tremember where I bought it. What about 10?” the compass was easily worth 100, and I couldn’t swindle the merchant out of his rightful money, “ It is worth at least 50, here.” I hand the merchant 50, he says, “sir, I cannot thank you enough for your honesty. Here take this” He hands me a brand new sword, of the finest metal and elegance. Worth at least 1000, “ I could not take this!” he replies, “ please, it is hard to find an honest person, and a on the rare occasion one presents themselves, they must be rewarded. And besides, what do I need with a sword? I’m only a merchant.” With this gracious gesture, I turn and leave with my new sword and compass, saying, "Bless you sir, i will be back often to haggle again!" everblue2er101 906 Share Posted May 11, 2013 Your application has been... At the end of the bio your character arrives in Anthos, but since it's the current land he would have been there all along. We discussed a few other things in the WSC. Otherwise, this is a fairly detailed and long application that looks quite good.Welcome to Anthos! Please wait patiently for a GM to whitelist you.
