~ The Unknown in the Darkness ~

 

Near the Fountain in Salvus sits a man on a bank who is telling a story about something he entcountered last day.

 

Near Lenfarthing is a forest, where a sign said that this forest is the witch forest, a place where the fear is the king.

It is unknown who or what is creeping around in this dark place, inside...the darkness.

I'm Ernest Swampstone and i will tell you about an encounter i had, a few days ago.

The Nature was unbalanced in this place...man~ and the person i met had something unnatural, that made me scare.  It was a feeling that i know that "person" or what ever it was, but a different, was fear.

 

I was on my daily trip to the "Witch Forest" to collect some mushrooms for my medical supplies. The day was sunny and the birds were singing there beautifull song, It was a peacefull day and the Halflings were doing there work. But the nature changed instantly like the weather in the dwarven mountains, Water came from the sky like the biggest waterfall i ever saw. The trees and the flowers began to shake in the cold wind, the halflings and the animals were running into there homes. I was near the Witchforest to save some flowers from the wind and the rain, but then i...noticed someone.

"It" was walking down the road to my location, i don't know who or what "It" was, but i saw a green hidden face under a hood, smiling with his red mouth. It was wearing a deep green robe with dark red details and was holding a staff with a scary dragon head in his right green hand. The figure ingored me and moved into the Witchforest, i lost his silhouette after it passed three trees in the green cold fog.

 

 

After i saw the figure, my hearth stopped for a bit, that was the first time in my long live i entcountered such a dark figure. I knowed that the Forest was dangerous to trespass, but the figure was too interesting, so i tried to follow it.

The rain wasn't heard anymore as i moved into the forest, i only saw the green fog dancing infront of me. I only orientate myself on the footsteps on the ground, that the figure made. Each move i made into the forest, more and more fog broked my sight. I heard unknown noises around me, a scream from a animal, the cold wind who is riding on the trees and plants, but after so many noises...it stopped...silents.

I wanted to give up before i would lost myself inside this creepy place. But the smell of death was in my nose. I followed the smell and it became stronger and stronger. After that i noticed a light in the fog, it was weak but strong enough to lead me. I decided to follow the light...

 

And then i found the source of the light...a house, hidden in the forest and surrounded by trees and the green fog.

 

 

The footsteps were leading to the unknown house, it wasn't needed to be a mage to know that this place is evil. I saw a shadow, moving around in the house, it could be the figure i entcountered before. But before my curiosity made me go closer, the shadow stopped moving and i got a feeling that the shadow noticed me. A dark voice in my mind said, that i must leave this place. So i did, as fast as i could. But a feeling was there, that someone was following me. I took sometimes a look behind me and my worst fears came true. A shadow was following me quickly and it was dancing from tree to tree. I tried to move faster, but before the shadow could grab me with his cold hands. I was back in Lenfarthing.

I deeply breathed twenty times before i noticed, that the rain has allready stopped and the sun was looking trough the clouds.

That thing in the forest, i don't know who or what it was, but i knowed that this was the last time i move again to that place.

That was nothing natural, that was nothing that loves the nature, it was something that hates everything.

 

I will take this entcounter with me and i hope that no one will see, what i saw. Now excuse me, i need to move to the dwarven mountains, i need a bed...

 

 

The strange man moved out of Salvus and said not a single word or answered any questions.
